This author has interesting concepts & a decent story. However, her writing is juvenile & it seemed English is not her first language. That makes a good editorial team imperative. The language gap (?) became distracting, I found myself mentally editing as I read. That made immersing myself in the story nearly impossible.

This book counts towards my RHR Bingo book challenge: MC doesn't date.

Xia is an assassin, a Reaper of Beauty. Born into the shrine, the daughter of the Master, she has known no other life. She lives in a life where her Master values only power, sex, and money and she lives with the reality that she could die at any moment or have to kill one of the few people dear to her. She lives by following her Master's every order and never failing. She lives at his whim. By age 6 she had already seen murder, forced sex, and torture. By age 24 she has told her 1000 lies and r ...more

I am at a loss for words here. This story is absolutely riveting from beginning to end and I found myself upset when I got the last page because I needed more. Wilson has really outdone herself with this new series!! An absolute must read for fans of the genre. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Let me start by saying that Yumo is one of my favourite authors and I’ve read a lot of what she has put out to date and loved it. That’s why I feel horrible in saying that this book feels a bit empty to me. Very short by Yumo standards and it felt a bit rushed. While the concept is interesting the character development was lacking. The usual build to fall in love with the characters just wasn’t there and while the effort was put in for the connection between the triplets and the MC, the connecti ...more

4-4.5 Stars for this new series by Yumoyori Wilson

This new series by Yumoyori was not what I was expecting! We get to meet the Reapers of Beauty, who do missions for the Master and try to get to 1000 Lies so they can reach Elite status and possibly have a chance at a normal life outside the shrine. This book focuses on Xia who was born into the worlds of Reapers as she closes in on 1000 Lies. She pretty much is an assassin/ninja/spy/special agent who does whatever is necessary to complete her mi

This one is straight to point, if you are seasoned Wilson reader. This one for you, Wilson’s latest series goes into new territory and of course it’s a good old fight of good verse evil. However our heroine is an exotic creature to say the least.
Xia is complicated and it’s an interesting world she lives in . The world of Reapers is all she knows so like her we are thrown into the deep as she na

So where to start? This story is quite different and darker than the rest of this author's books. Well, mostly since she has one or two books in her other series that has this element as well if I remember correctly. This comes with a warning and even then I wasn't prepared for the feelins this book invoked. Reapers of Beauty is an organization that is... I'm having a difficulty describing them but they are quite deadly and more so on punishments. It tells the story of Xia and it began when she ...more

Not what I was a good way

This book was a little darker then I’m used to from this author but no less amazing.
This story is about reapers of beauty. It’s not really explained how they got their name but essentially they are women who do whatever it takes to complete missions for their master. All the tasks are to make him more powerful and more wealthy. If they fail they are punished either sexually or physically up to death.
The reapers other goal is to reach 1000 lies. Once the

Spoiler free, as always! So first off, the first thing to note about this book is the trigger warning – if you’ve read other books by this author, especially with Dark Wish series, then…Well, quite honestly, I don’t think the trigger warning was needed. I expected it to be much darker, or at least more detailed or violent than it truly was, and found it actually quite tame in that department, although I understand why the author put it in. If you’ve read the Dark Wish series and had no issues wi ...more

This is a new series from this author. It’s been out for a little while, and it’s been on my TBR list since it was up for pre-order. I just hadn’t had a chance to read it until now. This book has pretty much cemented for me that this author doesn’t know how to write a bad book. Honestly. This book is fast paced, and there’s a fair amount of time dedicated to back story, but it doesn’t FEEL that way. Some backstories drag and you know what they’re doing but it does get a little boring. That doesn ...more

I cannot lie, this assassin owns my heart!

I'm so enthralled with this powerful new female, her past and present pain, and her potential new future. This book was such a whirl wind of action and revelations. Xia is a fierce warrior, and what she's had to endure all her life would dleave me a broken mess. She has worlds of strength within her, though, and a promise of a new brighter future. Her connections with her sisters lift me up, and her new connections with Xander and the gang give me hope a

Born into a world of pain, lies, loss and cruelty....Xia has been molded into the perfect weapon. Able to use her body to kill, tempt, steal, and do just about anything. She, and many other women and girl children are raised to tell lies....lies that must be undetectable so they can use their ma y skills to obtain knowledge, secrets, lives, and items for th ...more

Having been a huge fan of Yumoyori’s other series, I definitely wanted to give this one a try and boy, I was not disappointed! We follow Xia and her three awesome half sisters as they struggle to survive being under the rule of a seriously bad Master. There is a trigger warning, I’m glad it was there, but I don’t think it was necessarily needed. There are some evil things going on, but I’ve read other books far worse and had no warning. That being said, I thought this was going to be waaaaay mor ...more

****Trigger Warning****
17+ sexual scenes, child and sexual abuse. May be triggering to survivors.

Xia is one amazing femme fatale lead! She is powerful, clever, funny and a hardened ultimate reaper. She hasn't lost her humanity, even after reaching her 1000 lies by age 24! A chance encounter with Xander while out celebrating her friend leads Xia to discover a different way of life!
The men's magic connects and responds to hers. She has never known anything like that before. She is enthralled by

Oh wow, crazy intense!!

By the first chapter, I could already tell this is a five+ star book. The entire storyline is incredibly unique, and the characters are so vibrant and well created. Xia is particularly is this amazing really character, which is crazy because she’s a freakin assassin who can do magic!

Seriously though, I immediately fell in love with Xia and the triplets. And there are of course other great characters as well. In fact, this story is so good that you really are rooting for

Omg this book was so freaking awesome, it sucked me in before I had even finished the first page and wouldn’t let me out until I got to the end of the book!
But that cliffhanger was brutal though with the way it left me wondering what happens to Xia!
Anyway as always Yumoyori Wilson has created another fantastic masterpiece.
She is definitely one mad story weaving genius and I love how she makes the characters the perfect blend of vulnerable and kick butt, which is why she’s put herself in the num

I never really know what to expect when I start reading a new series by Yumoyori Wilson but she hardly ever disappoints me...and this book was not different! As soon as I started reading I was fully captivated and invested in Xia’s life and the lives of the triplets. Of course I want to punch the Master but Xia meeting her guys makes up for it! And the guys, we don’t get to know them all in this book but I like that they all come along at different rates and times, makes it more realistic. I thi ...more
Wilson has created an interesting and fresh world in 1001 Lies. Xia is a Reaper of Beauty - which is basically an assassin for the Master. The Master is a horrible being - he treats the Reapers - both adult women and little girls as objects. There is a trigger warning in the blurb and I would take note if you are an abuse survivor or have triggers with children being abused. The most descriptive parts of the abuse do take place in chapter 1. I like the guys. We don’t really get to spend much tim ...more

This story is very well done but be warned that it may contain triggers. This is a somewhat dark different RH story but I enjoyed it immensely. Xia finally got her 1000th lie to become an elite and she gained some freedom too! Xander seems amazing with his laid back personality. I'm not sure how Dante will fit in since he doesn't really like girls but I can't wait to read about it. Silas seems like he'll be a good match too. the The only one we didn't get much information about was Asa an

Fantastic new book

Great new book by Yumoyori Wilson. I really enjoyed this and couldn’t put it down.

Xia is a great main character. She has a great support system with the triplets. They are always there for her which is important because of the horrors she saw growing up. They were always there for each other.

Xia also meets a group of guys slowly. She meets and interacts with them one at a time which is really a great way to meet them.

I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for the ne

There are triggers in the beginning of this book, so just beware. This story was surprise for me and in no way is that a bad thing. I absolutely loved this book, its dark and intriguing. Lies, love, loyalty, and that fantastic ending ( its a cliffhanger, but that isn't a bad thing because that means more books!) If I could give this more then 5 stars I would. If you like dark and kind of twisted then this is a must read!! I can not wait to find out what is going to happen next especially with th ...more

Very fast paced and different

3 star rating.
This was a very fast pace novel. I felt it could have been written differently to match the dialogue with the characters, their ages and their profession. Alot of the dialogue felt immature to me. Most of the book read like something a high school teen would have written for a story. Don't get me wrong, the storyline/plot is good. I liked the path the author took on this.
I'm hoping the installment to this series will have improved from this one.

Oooooh! This was a good one from Yumoyori! VERY different from her others, but engaging.

The dark elements could definitely be triggering for some readers, but that has been the case with several of the books I’ve read from her anyway. And Xia is so relatable, you just go on the ride right along with her.

As many of her books are, it is a slow burn. So be prepared for a lot of lip biting, thigh clenching scenes that might leave you a little pissed off about the cliffhanger at the end. Definitely h

Love, love, LOVE this book!!! The storyline was totally unique...character development was brilliant...of course in true yumoyori style, your heart gets totally broken and the ending literally will leave you yelling “Nooooo it can’t be over already!!!” Yumoyori Wilson always delivers an excellent story, but this one, well this one highlights her true genius as a writer!! Simply need book 2 as soon as possible!!
