I seem to keep getting myself in these precarious situations with books and I’m left a tad bit dumbfounded and almost, almost at a loss for words.

I have no idea what I just read.

Really. No idea.

This might be one of the most bizarre shifter (I don’t even think that is the right terminology for this) book I have ever read. Ever.

Ok. Let’s see. This book was all over the place. No wait, that’s not necessarily true. This book read to me like it was in sections. Section one this and

NOTE: I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NineStar Press through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Just a little forewarning: This book contains very detailed sexual content. The publisher included a “BDSM lite” tag with the NetG

A Joyfully Jay review.

There is an idea in writing called “Chekhov’s gun.” It stems from several quotes written in private letters by the master Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. In simple terms, Chekhov means that if an aspect of a story isn’t needed, cut it. And if you leave it in, you’d better be prepared to do something with it, i.e. don’t bring a gun on stage unless you’re prepared to fire it. Fallen For You is filled with so many metaphorically unused guns I almost don’t know wher

I really don‘t like giving bad ratings and reviews, but in this case I have no other choice.

I got this book from NetGalley in July, 2018… but I MANAGED to finish it only in March, 2019. I never quit any books, so I literally tortured myself with this book, because I wanted to finish it. Every time I planned to read few more pages, I was like: “Come on, Dorian, read few more pages, move forward, so you will get closer to the ending”. FINALLY IT’S OVER!

What made me to write such a bad review

I can’t wait for the next book in this series! I loved Martin and Casey. I loved the fact that the story starts off with them being close friends and work partners. When they finally decide to move that friendship to more, they burned up the pages. So hot! I liked seeing them doing some investigations. When the bad things happened, how Casey was willing to scrafice himself to help Leon and Alissa brought tears to my eyes. I’m wondering what will become of Martin’s negotiation with the bad guy. First thoughts right after finishing the book:
Wow! Just wow! I am so in love and am such an mess right now that I cannot express my feelings properly.

Review Tagline: A distinct paranormal romance filled with action and intrigue that takes place across Britain.

My Thoughts: Fallen for You is an enjoyable paranormal novel, set in modern day Britain. I loved the two main characters Martin and Casey, they were each such unique characters who not only made me smile but had great chemistry. These two, coupled with the incredible world building had me racing through the

This had such potential. When I first read it I thought it was a story about angels. It isn't THANK THE BOOK GODS. I would have put it down immediately. It was an AVIAN shifter-esque story. Which I was absolutely thrilled about because the only one I know of so far is the series by Kim Dare and that is more anthromorphic than this one.

Anyways. This story is like a mesh of Kim Dare's Avian Shifter series and Abi Roux's Cut & Run a little bit, just much tamer. This book had way too much going on f

***Just like to say this is my review based on the Netgalley blurb, which TOTALLY does not have the same information as the blurb that's posted here on Goodreads.

Well, WOW. This book did not go in any type of direction that I was expecting; after I finished it, I even went back to read the blurb again, to see if I missed something.

Originally I thought Martin's secret would be that he was a spy, something to do with their jobs in the British Secret Service...what Martin is hiding is something e

Martin and Casey are British secret agents. They come from different backgrounds but are extremely loyal to each other. They often get into issues because of Martin’s impulsivity. Casey tends to ground him. Through thick and thin, they have always been there for one another. Until the day when Casey almost dies. Martin is forced to reveal something about himself that had always been kept a secret.

This is the tale of Martin and Casey, partners in the British secret service that have been (not so secretly) carrying a torch for each other for a long time. When Casey almost dies, he is miraculously saved by Martin but being saved only puts his life at more risk because Martin is forced to reveal the protected secret of his people. It becomes the two of them against the world while they fight to prove that they should be allowed to be with each other and be allowed to live.

There were many things I liked about Fallen For You. It had a brilliant premise, giving an intriguing twist on 'angels'. The characters had great potential, with their work offering some excellent plot possibilities. I also enjoyed the world building as it related to the Avian society--its laws and mythologies. However, it didn't 100% come together for me. The fact that the two leads were in the secret service had little impact on the plot; they could have been MET detectives and it would still ...more

This had a very interesting story line. Martin and Casey are work partners, and Casey has had a crush on Martin for years but never acted on it because of work. Martin has also had feelings for Casey, but he pushed it away because of his secret-he's Avian! Martin saves Casey's life and exposes the secret putting their lives in danger. Together, they are able to figure out how to be a couple as well as how to navigate the avian world. I thought the direction the author took the story was really i ...more

This was the first book that I've read by Jules Dee and I absolutely loved it!

It was unlike anything I've read before and was a perfect blend of M/M romance and Paranormal romance.

I love the fact that Martin's character and his species "the Avian" aren't angels but something completely different. I love reading something new where you find yourself fascinated with the goings on in the book and that is exactly what happened with Fallen for You.

The relationship between Casey and Martin is a frie

Martin and Casey are partners and agents in the London Secret Service. On a mission, Casey is in peril and Martin risks everything to save him, but unwillingly creates even more life and death situations.

I loved this book. I loved the characters and the story line. I'm typically not huge on fantasy, but this was written so well and was very interesting. The flow was great. The only negative that I found was that with

Awesome read. Casey and Martin are a team you can't help but love. Their relationship felt natural and progressed realistically to me, friends for years then it turns to more later instead of a love at first sight situation. Don't want to give too much away for the plot but I liked this paranormal angle and was something I haven't read before. You get action, sexy moments that are too hot and add fun in the mix. Also side characters grab you and I hope there are more books in the future in this ...more

I admit that I bought and started this one because it was written by a friend. So full disclosure there.

I ended up enjoying it very much, although I wasn't certain at first. We get to meet the protagonists in dire trouble right at the beginning and things proceed to get complicated from there.

This is not a "falling in love" book, but instead a book where the characters end up in a place where they have to admit to each other that they "fell" a while ago. That makes the title a good and appropria

Enjoyed this book a lot! A unique paranormal read that will have you engrossed from the start! Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chain of events. Martin and Casey are a team in the British Secret Service. Always getting into some kind of mess or leaving havoc behind. The Casey falls from a lift and Martin breaks his fall revealing wings on Martin's back and this is only their beginning involving a secret society, the Avians. Avian Law mandates that a human that has been exposed ...more

Fallen For You
This was a great story that features a new race called Avian. These are a winged race that are not the same thing as angels. The author did great adding humor, love, and gut wrenching pain into this book. Although I would of been happy ending the book right after the bonding happen it continues with another story.

The characters are all very diverse and the man couple is furiatingly cute. The only thing that did bother me is the Avian laws and I wish there was a way to change them.

Our two heroes are in the doghouse. The higher ups assigned them a task they are not thrilled with, but at least they are still working together. The POV switches are a little confusing bit the story moves briskly painting picture of men’s lives and their deep bond. They are loyal to each other. That’s why Casey is understandably surprised and hurt when it turns out his partner kept secrets from him. Now they are both in danger.

Honestly the whole paranormal aspect sounded far fetched to me (but

Fallen for You' is a light and fairly enjoyable read, with romance, mystery/crime/danger and the added fantastical element of a secret society of winged beings (Avians) living concealed among humans. I enjoyed this book. It's no great example of highbrow literary accomplishment, but it's fun and written well enough to keep the reader's interest throughout. However.....I'm guessing that this story either began life as a work of fan fiction, or the author is hugely influenced by 'Sherlock'. Obviou ...more
