I'm sure a lot of this information is out of date, I noticed this especially when she was talking about evolution and the origins of life on earth, but it seems like a good introduction to the concept of life existing in harsh environments we previously thought were impossible for things to survive in. In some places it is written as though assuming the reader knows nothing about biology, such as the explanation of photosynthesis and food webs, which may be helpful to younger or less educated readers. I found this book in a thrift store a while ago and only now decided to read through it, and ultimately I'm glad I did.
