Man, I was really hoping I would enjoy this book more than I did. For a while, in the middle of the book, I really thought this was going to be a four star read, but the convoluted beginning and mess of a climax pushed this book into the, “it should have been great, but it wasn’t” range.

I read the first book in this series, MEMOIRS OF A DRAGON HUNTER, and thought the paranormal world MacAlister started building was confusing. I know creating a whole paranormal world is difficult, so I was really

Ok so, this was my first time read by Katie MacAlister and I'm still trying to sum up thoughts towards this book. I'm such a sucker for dragon shifter reads, so it was a no brainer to give this one a try. I so, soooo wanted to like this, but there were some things that just wasn't work for me.

For me, it started off a bit slow and it didn't seem like it was going anywhere. Between Archer and Thaisa, I liked Archer slightly a bit more. I couldn't quite pin down the kind of character that Thaisa wa

Ok I admit the cover caught my eye and then I thought oo a Dragon book so count me in. I realise now that this contains two stories and indeed the first isn’t the beginning of its series which I hadn’t expected.
Day of the Dragon 3 stars
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Ms MacAlisters dragon books in the past but unfortunately this story just didn’t really grab me. Perhaps the slow start or indeed the crazy storyline about dragons, demons and constellations just failed to really reach out to me. I guess

*I received this book from NetGalley In exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the second book?! What?! I never would have guessed just by reading it.

Thaisa is a little different. She has a rare genetic gene that has caused her face to look different, so she’s spent my years dealing with the looks, name calling, etc. She threw herself in to the one thing that made her happy, studying ancient artifacts, becoming a scholar. While out with friends one night, her lack of self acceptance becomes cl

I received a complimentary of this eBook from the author, publisher, and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When Thaisa is threatened by her boss Edgar and sells an ancient manuscript to a man who is really a dragon, her world gets placed in danger and turned upside-down when the dragons and other dark forces comes for her. Will she be able to save herself or will she be taken by the dragons? Read on and find out for yourself.

This was a pretty good action-packed paranormal romance novel

Sadly, as a Newbie Netgalley Reviewer, I did not catch the archive date to access the ARC ebook...so I will not be able to review prior to publication. I was "this close" to uploading to my Kindle, but alas, I was shut out *sigh*

A big fan of Katie MacAlsiter (her dragon series are what got me back into reading again years ago...because these covers!!! LOL) Anywho.

One day I'll get a chance to read her again. She remains a forever fav author ;)

Day of the Dragon is the second book in a series but can easily be read as a stand alone (I purposely read the first book just to be sure). There is a novella from Celia Kyle as well.

Day of the Dragon was an enjoyable fun read. I like MacAlister's books are always like this. If you have ever picked up one of her books you know the females are going to be kick but and the males will be antiquated and have to adopt to their modern woman.

Celia Kyle's book was okay I remember reading one of her pa

Archer started the Storm dragons while his brother, Hunter had started the Shadow dragons.

Archer and his cousin go after the Raisa Medallion, not knowing if it's real or not and not knowing if what they think about only a demon hunter or a demon being able to wield it is true. They break into the place and leave the money for their item only to get caught by Thaisa who works there. Thaisa and Archer have an intense first meeting and then he leaves with his item.

Thaisa works at a place that sell

This was such a fun read! MacAlister knows how to write strong, yet quirky female characters who will not be dominated by their alpha male dragons. The mystery involved in this novel was wonderful, and lead into potential for the next book in the series.
All in all, I thought the dynamic between the couple was enjoyable, and the smutty bits were delightful!

This story has a bit of everything pulling you in from the start.
The humour, romance and action hold the story line together, making for a very enjoyable read.

Do not bother with the second story which is a run of the mill shape shifter story.

I read most of Katie MacAlister book and I was never disappointed.
This one was really good, it made me laugh and root for the characters.
I will surely read the other in this series.
Highly recommended!

Day Of The Dragon:
I've read many stories by Katie MacAlister and had loved them, but sadly this book just didn't do it for me. I really wanted to like it, but I just didn't. It was slow and had an all over crazy storyline about dragons, demons, and constellations.

Thaisia is smart, and interesting, but she has massive hangups about her appearance and how lacking she was compared to Archer. She had no knowledge of there being an Otherworld, yet she busted out spells and whatnot from reading books

Review forthcomingI received a copy of Day of the Dragon in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

I used to read Katie MacAlister books all the time. She was one of the authors who got me back into the genre after a long absence. But I got to that point where I’d read her whole backlist, and her new books weren’t coming out soon enough that I got distracted–probably down a Nora Roberts hole–it’s been twenty odd years and I still haven’t read her whole bcklist! But I haven’t read anything

Loved this story! It was scary heartwarming and sometimes just plain funny. You can’t help but love Thaisa and her attitude with Archer she is smart funny even a little hard on herself but it makes the story that much more. Archer is a gorgeous man who never thought he would find a mate much less be amused and in awe of her brains. When Archer comes to retrieve the page he paid for he is attacked buy a woman he would never have paid attention to but her fieriness makes him look a little deeper. ...more

Received in exchange for a honest review.

So I like the concept of the book and I enjoyed the book overall but there were some things that got me going meh.

character development: good and twisty at times. I say this for the fact that Archer’s brother was just a twisty character period tor me so his character development is twisty. Thaisa goes from self conscious and not as confident as she could be to strong and a good match for Archer. Archer I enjoyed from the beginning. He shows us his strong

Free ARC provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The beginning of the book starts off extremely fast-paced, so much that it seemed like I was missing a first chapter. Because of this it took me a few chapters to get into the storyline but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. I love how unique and rare Thaisa’s looks are, but I really hate her extreme lack of confidence. It seems like the author missed a great opportunity to show readers that women are beautiful no matter

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

Thaisa is a seriously single for a reason gal, who wants to be swept off her feet by a man. Archer Andras buys a manuscript from Thaisa and becomes charmed by her. After Thaisa realizes her employer didn't want to sell the manuscript and threatens her life to get it back. Thaisa becomes the key that will either win her man, or kill everyone trying.

What did I like? Archer and Thaisa have smoking hot chemistry. Even though Arc

I didn't realize that this was book 2 in this series but it can absolutely be read as a stand alone and be perfectly understood. Thaisa has been thrown into a world she knew nothing about and is just trying to understand and make it through to the other side. She is a smart woman but she definitely has hand ups, although I guess after dealing with them her whole life, who wouldn't? That was my only drawback with this book, she kinda harps on her looks a lot and compares them with Archer. Archer ...more

Can a woman fall in love with a dragon? Thaisa would have said, no; but that was before, the leader of the Storm Dragons, Archer Andras, came into her life.

When Thaisa’s boss discovered that a particular manuscript had been sold to Archer Andras, he was furious. He threatened to break every bone in Thaisa’s body and even hurt her grandmother if she did not retrieve the document immediately.

Thaisa didn’t know that the Shadow Dragons were at war with the Storm Dragons, until Hunter, Arch

Thasia works for a store that buys and sells artifacts and is blissfully unaware that there is another world out there. She is thrown into the world of the Others as she inadvertently sells a manuscript to the wrong dragon. Only he turned out to be the right dragon. Archer is locked in a battle with his twin brother and they are both after the text, which is supposed to bring balance between them.

This story is very typical of Katie MacAlister’s dragon stories. But I love all of her stories, and

Ok I think this is my first Katie MacAlister book...at least for a while now. The story was surprisingly short. Archer and Thaisa meet as Archer was searching through the antique store where Thaisa works. Actually they met much earlier but neither of them expect to meet again that night and in such circumstances. Archer is eventually fascinated by Thaisa, while she has some insecurity to get over.

It was interesting, how Thaisa breaks the languages she's given to decipher. And how she is able to

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

While the book can be read as a stand alone there seems to be the back story that continues (I hope) as Archer and Hunter still have issues with their father.

Thaisa and Archer just seemed such an odd match and yet they work together. Add in Bree who makes things a little more interesting and you have a great story!

There is the romance along with the intrigue and drama along with a few surprises along the way! There some surprises that were not too

For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. Since her editor refused to allow her to include either witty dialo ...more
