I read and re-read this book over the years - it was one of the text books for the herb component of Dorothy's diploma of herbal medicine students.
It's unique in that it gives a "person picture" for each of the herbs, which is something that is normally restricted to homeopathic remedies and flower essences.
Dorothy never liked to give too much away about herbs to lay people as she had a healthy respect for herbs and didn't want information in the public arena that could end up being used to harm people (a little knowledge is a dangerous thing as far as she was concerned).
She could read people like a book and know which herbs they needed to get well. There is not a client I see that I don't fall back on Dorothy's "person pictures" - really accurate and its a system of prescribing that gets results.
