I completely loved being caught up in Aria’s tale. Vampires, shifters and witches Oh MY! Annett writes a fascinating story of a world where magic has broken through and then it broke the world. Now it’s a fight for survival.

Blood & Magic is a the combination of the first three books in the Blood & Magic series and once you read straight through book 1 – 3 you will do exactly what I did…I went and one clicked CONSUMED BY FIRE.

The first three books in the Blood & Magic series packed into one really hooked me. Reminiscent of the Katie Daniel series, but with enough extras to make it unique. Aria Naveed is a pyrokinetic in a world of shifters and vampires. She’s a wisea$$, butt kicking, at times annoying heroine that you’ll come to root for. This series has everything that I want in a book. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Before you go on, here is a note from the Author’s website that explains why some of the terms were used: Here we go again!

In it she explains where the term ‘Lyc-V’ originally comes from and goes on to explain ‘Friend-of-the-Pack’ and a few other issues reviewers have apparently noted. I am including this note here because she makes some good points that should be considered.

That said, please read on for my mostly uncorrected review (You’ll see why I noted those 2 points above). Oh, and please d

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have been reading a little more urban fantasy so it was no surprise I found this series. I love Aria she is a very interesting character. She is not a character that everything goes her way, but she does her moments that make me laugh and others that I worry about her. I like books that take me through a several stages emotions as I got through them. These first three book did just that. I would love to read the rest and I have heard ...more

Very enjoyable great reading

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to read more to see what will happen next with her and Declan.

Great story with amazing twists.

The story is amazingly done with twists and turns on every angel. The author makes you feel like you are the main character and feel everything that goes on, it sucks you and lets you feel as part of the story and this world.

Aria Naveed is human in a world still recovering from the discovery that monsters are real and living among us. Inter-faction conflict basically destroyed governments, infrastructure and the economy as we know it before an uneasy truce was declared. She survives the turmoil, despite being a 17 year old orphan at the time, because of her PsyKinetic ability to produce fire...and the help of a compassionate couple (Mike and Marion) who take her in and teach her the ropes of how to be a private inve ...more

While I really enjoyed the series, I feel compelled to only give it 2 stars. Odd I know but here’s why. First, there are three books but they are all really short. In total under 550 pages on my kindle, making all three books feel like one. I also didn’t like the way the kindle set was edited. There was no demarcation between books. There are 70 chapters, and since the books end in cliffhangers (which I also don’t like) one book fades into the next. My final and main issue is that this book is a ...more

Too many similarities to Kate Daniels

I’ve read books that have had a faint resemblance to other books in their genre. I mean, a few tiny similarities here and there are to be expected in a fantasy genre, but nothing too overt. This series, however, has so many similarities to the Kate Daniels series that I found myself rolling my eyes whenever I crossed another one. Themes were the same, names were similar, and even the book title is a knockoff ffs! I feel like I just read the store brand equiva

Great start to this series

I loved Ari and her strong, independent, stubborn, sassy self. She is a great female lead. I love Declan and James, but can't for the life of me figure out the draw to Inarus. She says she doesn't trust easy, but keeps following him. He betrayed her, did morally horrible things and yet she keeps following him. Declan, in true alpha form, is finding it really. Hard to let cherished, but he is. He gives her space, even when he shouldn't. Yet she doesn't trust him for anyt

Blood is going to spill … I just hope it won’t be mine. Someone is trying to incite a war and pit the shifter Pack and the vampire Coven against one another. If war breaks out, humanity won’t survive. And I can’t let that happen. My boss doesn’t want me to get involved. It’s too dangerous. But I’m a mercenary and I’ve been hired to find whoever it is that's leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. In a search that takes me through the maze of shifter hierarchy and the depths of the paranormal un ...more

**I received a copy free from Netgalley for an honest review. **

For fans of the Kate Daniels series, this book will feel familiar. But, in a good way. I devoured this in a day, and am already looking forward to the next ones in the series. Though similar to KD, the heroine, Aria Naveed is an orphaned merc, part Persian and magically inclined, she’s not from an epic bloodline, and can’t do something more just because of who she is. Like Kate, she’s a badass because she trains her ass off. But unl

I received an advanced reader's copy of Blood & Magic Series (Books 1-3) by Danielle Annett from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had never read anything by Danielle Annett before this, but I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased to find a new author/series to follow.

The good: I found the novel to be well written and the dialogue between the characters (primary characters as well as secondary) was entertaining and fact paced. The protagonist, Aria Naveed, is st

Danielle Annett is a new writer for me. I was hooked from the start and couldn't stop reading until the very last page. Set in present time after supernatural came out of the proverbial closet, we meet Aria Naveed. A human with secrets, she is a "merc". A private investagor we meet her after the death of a boy she was hired to find. What happens next takes the reader on a while ride through Spokane's streets and countryside where we're introduced to life and creatures and racist humans.

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this book when I started reading. The language suggests it’s aimed more YA fiction but I did get into the story. I found the main character very likeable albeit a little amazed at the random love interest(s), with no real substance and commitment to one (love) story line. I normally love this genre of film and tv but not so much reading but I’m already getting the next instalment of blood and magic as I enjoyed it so much

Loved the Books - Buying the Rest

Enjoyed all three books in this collection. Seemed initially to be a mix of a few other familiar series, but definitely found its own flow and niche. Nice twists and not predictable as feared. Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so off to buy the next in the series right now. :-D

A new author, a new fan. I loved Aria, a most kick ass heroine. Her life is never dull so goes from one situation to the next, finding new friends along the way. A very enjoyable series. Let's hope book 4 comes out soon.

An interesting series of books. You definitely need to read them in order and each book continues directly from the previous. It reads as 1 continuous book. The characters are well done, I particularly like Melody. It's an urban fantasy that should do well. #BloodMagicSeries #NetGalley

Great book

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and you really got caught up in them. The storyline was fantastic.
An excellent mage/shifter series. Just enough magic to make it believable that it could happen in real life with a feisty female main character who isn't quite as normal as she thought originally.
