When the saintly Tabby Cullman turns up dead under some holly shrubs, there are no indications that it is anything but a tragedy. The only person who thinks otherwise is Harry Pierson, Tabby’s assistant, who insists to anyone who will listen that Tabby was murdered and he knows who did it. While Leo is forced to look into all the claims coming in, Penelope finds herself drawn into helping Harry when the police fail to take Harry’s ravings seriously. Things get even more complicated for Penelope when Mabel ends up in the investigation as well. Mabel might be a lot of things, but Penelope cannot see the woman as a killer. Things would be a lot simpler if Penelope’s Cousin Bradley were not in the way, and if Leo would stop treating Penelope like she was going to break any moment. Can Penelope figure out the mystery of Tabby’s death and save Fall Creek’s holiday season?

10 stars!!!! Penelope gets caught up in a love triangle, when a friend asked for help because almost the whole town could be suspects. A know-it-all woman in town could not be wrong about anything and she let people know what she thought. Someone could not take it anymore and did something about it. Green smoothies are what she was drinking to keep her new man, but the ex was depressed about it. Now the death was considered natural causes, but Mabel, a member of the play house working on a play with Tabitha, she was head of Paws and Claws rescue centers. I love this series. You will love this book. ENJOY!!!!
A sweet read. It's almost christmas but a death of a local woman makes it feel sombre. Especially as her assistant keeps stressing she was murdered even though the autopsy has come back with a natural death. She gets pulled into investigating the death. Rows and changes of behaviour in the dead woman lead her to think that maybe something untoward had actually happened. Did the new diet have anything to do with it? A sombre plot with a twist at the end and a happy ending.
This short little Christmas story was a fun way to spend an afternoon. It kept you wondering who was actually lying and who was telling the truth till the end. And I liked all the characters, even though there was this very annoying busy-body at the end that I wanted to slap some sense into.
A cute little cozy to pass the time. I enjoy these short books for reading when I don't have much time. The characters are fun, the relationships are realistic, and as always these types of books make me miss living in a small town!
I really enjoyed this book and liked the story line. It is exciting and down to earth. It makes for an interesting read from start to finish. I must say I really enjoyed it.
It was okay. A nice cozy mystery with a Christmas theme, did feel some of the characters could have been expanded on a little but overall a pleasant way to pass the time.
