I happened upon The Will of Time through a social media post and I'm extremely glad I did. The Will of Time follows Will and Madi's journey through time and their struggle to get back home. This is a Young Adult novel, but I found myself drifting back to my childhood when reading this and feel that any age would enjoy the story. Here are a few things that I believe the author did exceptionally well:

A lovely well-rounded classic story of fantasy time-travel adventure for YA readers that's just as entertaining for adults. The historical aspects appear well researched and the scene setting in Gettysburg is detailed and convincing. The time travel is beautifully handled and easy to follow despite the fact the story moves at a brisk pace. The photos are a nice addition that I think YA readers will particularly enjoy. There's a lovely addendum 'Beyond The Story' that gives a lot of insight into ...more

This highly imaginative saga kept me riveted from start to finish. It is well-written and so well researched that the Battle of Gettysburg seems real. The dialogue, the description of the clothes and buildings made me feel like I was peering through a window of time. This story two teenagers caught up in time travel is action-packed and filled with unexpected twists and turns. The end surprised me. That rarely happens for me: I usually have everything figured out much before the end of the book. ...more

Timeless Story

I thought this book was masterfully written. Pierce does a wonderful job of traversing 2 world's without losing the reader along the way. The reality and alternate reality were equally charged and enjoyable. A great time traveling story.

Growing up in McKeesport, I remember putting on shows for my neighbors in my 4 x 4 backyard. The stage – grass. The curtain –  old bedsheets tacked with clothespins on my mother’s clothesline   After the crowd – of about 5 neighbors – paid their $.10 and took their seats on the wooden picnic benches, I, along with my sister, Jennifer and best friend, Kristin, would burst through the center of the ...more
