True happiness is not found. It finds you.

We think of our chase for joy as a fundamental right—and it’s no surprise. By nature we are pleasure-seekers, though chronically unsuccessful at finding the type of joy that will endure for more than a passing moment.

But what if long-lasting joy isn’t found at all? What if the deepest and most durable happiness breaks into our live

Easily one of the best introductions to Calvinism I’ve read. Written in a conversational style that’s full of explanation and light on the five dollar theology vocabulary.

I don’t know how Tony Reinke does it every time. He manages to write so eloquently and full of imagery while staying true to a Christ-centered message in all that he pens. He is a master with words—truly enjoyable, quick, and rather calming, but there’s a need to revisit and keep chewing on what he writes.

“Joy in Christ, for the sake of Christ, is proof that God has resurrected our souls and given us a new life. Our supreme joy is no longer in the American dream, but in our sovereign God and all

This is a decent introduction to the doctrines of grace. It isn't designed to be an in-depth or exhaustive study. Reinke takes a fresh approach by considering the joy of the doctrinal truths. The resulting book is practical and readable. ...more

So this book could have been written in 30 pages. There was a lot of fluff. Also, the conclusion introduced new points, and was longer then a few chapters....
