I enjoyed the book very much and have started reading book two of the series. The book caught my eye as I am soon to publish a major novel of my own (in several parts) and my working title was A Very Different Family. I may have to reconsider that now so as not to step on Mr. Follett's toes. I do have a few alternatives, so I'm not at a total loss.
