Sugar was such a fun, fast and interesting read.

Be warned though, it contains explicit sex encounters of various kinds.

The way Monique starts out with her Sugar Daddy experiences is fun and adventurous but also dangerous. It is definitely borderline prostitution but with a lot of positive and exciting experiences for Monique.

I much enjoyed her travelling and seeing new things with her sugar daddies.

As long as she did not overly depend on the money it was an amazing variety of things she could e

I have finally finished this book! Sigh, it felt like I would never finish. I think I saw that is was 328 pages long, but it felt even longer, and that is coming from someone who has read EVERY Game of Thrones book! I would probably give this 2.5 stars, considering that I thought the topic was interesting.

Basic Plot: Monique separates from her trifling husband and becomes a single parent of two young girls. Needing extra money and wanting a little adventure, she signs up to be a Sugar Babe. Suga

Head's up: despite the book blurb sounding otherwise, this book is a memoir.

There's nothing quite like reading an entire book, and still wondering when the story will start by the time you reach the end. It may be titled “Sugar,” but not an iota of sweetness has been left in my memories.

The book’s first chapter walks readers through Monique's ritual to prepare for her sugar dates—which are dates she has with older men, keeping them company (sexually or not) in exchange f

This memoir is about a single mother who has a secret life of being Sugar Babe looking for Sugar Daddies who will pay her for her services!! We all know what other words this is called! Monique after her divorce gets into this business of dating older men, wealthy ones so she can milk them!

The book has lots of explicit sexual scenes, so if you are not comfortable with that you should look somewhere else. In this memoir we get to know how Monique started, the men she met, the count

Received this book through Netgalley. The description made me think this will be a very good book. Even the beginning of it was good. Then I had to stop at 10 percent. It was so repetitive and needed drama. It's a journal of of her dating her sugar Daddies. The ending was horrible I'm sorry to say. We never hear if she gets a happy ending or not. ...more

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Sadly this was not my cuppa tea. When the story began I was excited where this was going but unfortunately the h sure was acting and being an escort but instead calling herself a sugar baby???? Yeah, not buying it.

OMG! Thank goodness it’s over! I feel so bad getting anvance copies of books and then not enjoying them. Thanks to NetGalley and the author for my ARC. I wish I had enjoyed it more, but I didn’t. The main character is so frustrating! Back and forth and desperate for a man to save her while in denial about what she is. She’s a prostitute and that’s fine by me, but own your life, girl! Be confident in all you do, even being a Sugar Baby. Even though at 40, she’s not really a SB, come on! Not to me ...more

I received an advance copy of this book via Netgalley.  As with all books that I read, I went to Goodreads to mark that I was "currently reading" the book.

However, the cover of "Sugar" by Monique X, is basically exactly the same as "Sugar Daddy" by Sawyer Bennett.  So, that's super confusing.  Are these by the same person?  Or did one copy the cover art of the other??

Anyway, this book (told as a memoir) is about a single mom raising two kids after her divorce from her deadbeat husband.  In ord
The cover is gorgeous! I usually don't read this genre, but Sugar sounded so interesting. It's not what I expected but still an entertaining and fun read. I prefer more substance in a story. It's a good fast read. ...more

Interesting and entertaining. Lots of adventure in many ways and kinda not like a book, more a memoir. Was attracted to it by the cover and the blurb and it's chick lit but a few added extras. Thank you Netgalley. ...more

Really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was actually quite addictive, fun, that little bit different.

Memoir, my favourite genre. Mostly medical, travel, and moving abroad memoirs. This is not my usual type, but I enjoyed finding out more about a different world I didn't know about. And a normal, everyday person who ended up in it. She'd had some hard times; relationship issues, divorce, money problems, mounting debts, and she had two young daughters to support.

So began the author's se

After her divorce, Monique decides to increase the 'fun quotient' in her life. She joins Seeking Arrangements, a website for Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddies. It all starts innocently, but after a night of steamy passion and sex, Monique finds a thousand pounds in her wallet - courtesy, her sugar Daddy. That is when Monique realizes that being a Sugar Baby might actually help her in a good way, after all, she had two little girls to look after.

Sugar was beckoning at me to be read, initially by the eye-catching and attractive cover and that it looked like it would be a very steamy read, as indeed it was. I was definitely not disappointed! I was smitten from the very first, right until the last page.

Monique is a loving single mother, who is trying to create a happy home for her two daughters and she's also a Sugar Babe, dating wealthy men, a practice known as Sugar Daddy dating. She mostly meets her Sugar Daddies during the day, when th

I received an ARC of this novel both through the publisher and through in return for a fair and honest review. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Mature Situations and Mature Language. This is the autobiography of Monique.

This book was first of the kind for me. I heard and have noticed the trend for call girl and escort memoirs and even watched an episode of 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' (the only reason I watched it was because the lead role was played by spouse of the cute guy who plays detective in Lewis))). Go figure).

Anyhow, Sugar was my first experience with such memoirs of the culture of 'love-for-hire'. And I have to admit, I read the book in one go. I was really interested in the main character's reasoni

This book was OK. I didn't love it, but I'll admit that it kept me interested. I think it's a memoir, but actually that's not clear to me. This tells the story of Monique, a single mother who ends up living what she calls the "sugar life." Which means she acts as a partner for rich men who want a pretty woman on their arm for dinners and vacations (away from their wives, usually), and of course that also almost alw

This is more than just a story about sex and money. Monique is now a single mother who is barely scraping by and most of her days are spent working instead of with her children. She finds a way to make some extra cash for awhile. She finds herself a sugar daddy. After a few nights of great sex and a wallet full of money, Monique decides that this is the best way to earn some extra money. Things come to a crashing halt when she loses her job as well as her child support. So Monique must do everyt ...more

Sugar: My Life as a Sugar Babe was out of my norm, but I loved it! I usually don’t read erotic fiction, but this one had a good premise. I feel this would be a good starting point for anyone that wants to break out to the genre. I feel the sexual content is probably more tasteful than most.

This is based on a true story of a newly divorced mother who is trying to support her girls on her own. She has to share custody with her ex-husband over the weekends and finds herself lonely. Monique starts

I really wanted to like this book. It was an interesting concept and it was quick to draw me in. I must admit I learned a lot about being a sugar babe and what comes with that world. It made me feel differently about people who are involved in the sexual industry. I was very surprised when I figured out this was a real life memoir. Monique tells

Thank you Thistle Publishing for a copy of Sugar by Monique X.

The premise of this book sounded interesting at first, then I didn't realize it would have SO much sex explicit sex at that. I thought the book The Swing Of Things by Linda Keir was explicit. That book was minor. The only part I liked was the places that it took Monique, you can almost envision it. It was good to hear she only did it for two years. People should not lower themselves to be used for sex. Specially with two little girls,

A fascinating insight into the sugar lifestyle, and how easy it can slip from being new and exciting, to being desperate and forcing yourself to do things you swore you'd never do in order to put food on the table.
Just as apt a synopsis for this book would be one woman's very impressive struggle (and success) at leaving her deadbeat ex, and making a new home for herself and her two children. Finding it difficult to support herself with a waitressing job, a friend (who is a former high-class esc

I initially didn't know if I would like this book but I kept seeing it on social media and the blurb did intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a go.
I am extremely happy that I decided to read this book as it is a detailed descriptive look in to the life of Monique the Sugar Babe.
It really makes you think outside the box and I got so invested in her story that I read it in one day.

I devoured this book! Sugar is filled with a peek into the Sugar Baby/Daddy World that you cannot look away. I was craving an Erotica book and Sugar filled the spot. The book began with the main character getting ready for her date then the book went back to the past for how she emerged as a Sugar Baby then it never went back to The Current/Future.

The book is not really a romantic Happily Ever Romance, but it is filled with some book porn scenes...

It took me a while to acclimatise to the fact that the book is written in broken English. Dreadfully poor, broken English - yet we’re led to believe that the narrator is an Oxford-graduate from Kent!
I tried. I really did. I got as far as the first sex scene (at 17%), where a cock is described as “Majestic Greatness”, and then, dear reader, I capitulated that life is too short to suffer through a horrifically badly written book. Perhaps one for lovers of Fifty Shades, not for me. The one star ra

I was really confused by the book, the premise and blurb states that its a erotica romance about a recently divorced mum who dabbles into the sugar daddy world. Halfway through due to the writing style I then start to think is this actually someone's memoirs? The main character is the only view point throughout and after a while the writing for me became very repetitive.

This book just wasn't for me. I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for a honest read.

A memoir about Monique’s life as a sugar babe. It was interesting and a look at a life I was not familiar with. This book was categorized as erotic romance when I picked it up, that’s not what this book was at all. I did enjoy the story, but there were parts that dragged on a long time that I skimmed over (like food descriptions) and the writing style was a bit odd and almost felt like English wasn’t a first language for the author (apart from the foreigners dialogue which is expected).

An interesting read about a lifestyle very foreign to me. THe author depicts what she did as easy going, but I think she was incredibly trusting and fortunate to have traveled to meet strangers and have sex with them without jeopardizing her safety. This book definitely falls in the category of erotica.

I quite enjoyed this book. it had a bit of a diary of a call girl about it. the only thing i struggled with was the actual writing. some sentences did not make sense or the word used was wrong or missing a word to make a sentence. hoping that was only as it was a copy before publishing and will be picked up. wish it had more of an ending as to what she did next and how her life turned out
