4.5/5 stars
The HHB go back to Kuuto so the dragons can recover faster from their injuries, there they hear of trouble in the Fire Tribe.
We continue on in this volume with Yona trying to cope with the new romantic development. I really love that the first chapter of this volume gave us a heart-to-heart moment between Hak and Jaeha. I really feel like Jaeha understands Hak the best and I really appreciate their dynamic, and why wouldn't I want to spend some extra time with my two favou ...more

Y'all, it's Yona. You know I love this series. With this volume, we get a lot of time in Hak's head, which is a nice change, especially considering the end of Volume 26. It was a wonderful start to the next arc of the series, and I am so excited for the next volume!

I love how things are not rushed and taken naturally unlike some mainstream manga out there. I genuinely trust Kusanagi-san so much ( ´ ▽ ` )♡

With the Xing affairs in order, the Happy Hungry Bunch is on their way back towards the capital city, so that the dragons can recover; interestingly, more information is given about the King Hiryuu and the bond between him and the dragons, as well as his tomb/shrine from where the dragons get their powers. However, they all cannot enjoy the peace for long, as Kouka is attacked by the Kai empire via Fire Tribe border, and they decide to go help them fend off the attack. Meanwhile, over in Fire Tr

After the previous story arc, this is a bit of a lull between the action, so it's slower than I would like, but still enjoyable.
You can really feel the building conflict between Su-Won and Yona in this, and how the rest of Kohka is just now learning about her and the four dragon warriors.
There's a lot of fluff in this that was pretty wholesome, considering this series can get super emotional and dark at times. It was nice to see it because, again, you can really feel that something big is going ...more

I received an advanced reading copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
I absolutely love Yona of the Dawn and this volume is no exception. The art is still beautiful. The story is still great. I really hope they get around to making another season of the anime...

Things don't change dramatically after last volume's confession, but there is quite a bit of humor to be had from Yona's ensuing awkwardness. After that, things shift toward dealing with Kohka's latest national crisis, but this time, the focus seems less on the crisis itself and more on how the people affected perceive Yona and the dragon warriors. It is an interesting shift that I am eager to see more of, both because it could eventually strain Yona and Su-won's mutual tolerance and because at

I didn’t rate it higher because this felt like a transitional volume. Hak unwittingly teases Yona post revelation of his love. He seems to be cool with it but Yona struggles which is cute. Does Su-Won harbor a burning passion for Hak? Stay tuned! Not sure I’m on board with a new conflict with the Kai Empire. Will it just a retread?
The narrative is exploring more what it might mean to the kingdom and Su-Won if Yona and the Dragons continue to be linked to the Crimson Dragon. Not good for Su-Won ...more

Yona of the Dawn is one of my favorite manga series. I especially enjoy how the creator is taking her time with the series. Unlike other romance manga series, this one is not rushed. And while there are times I want to hit some characters over the head, I enjoy the more natural relationship between the characters. While the two MCs are my favorite, there is still backstories given to other characters allowing them to be more 3 dimensional. #YonaoftheDawnVol27 #NetGalley
Absolutely amazing Hak-centric volume! As we enter a new arc, Yona and the crew are no longer undercover! Hak and Yona are wonderfully Hak and Yona (even though they should just be together already) and our pretty boy genius and dragon warriors are all still themselves. The highlight of this volume was definitely being able to see just what Yona's influence has done for the kingdom, and will continue to do for it. Suwon has another thing coming for sure!

Hak FINALLY told Yona that he loves her and now it's awkward and adorable. But we can't linger on confusing feelings for long because the Kai Empire is attacking from the north and the Fire Tribe is in trouble!
Meanwhile, the political structure of Kohka is shifting and it could spell disaster. ...more

Oh how fulfilling this was! Yes, this is something of a lull between story arcs, but it had some great character moments contained within. I loved seeing poor Yona all flustered over Hak's confession, and Hak's reaction to it himself is also infinitely entertaining to me as well. Hmmm... I wonder if maybe I see a bit of myself in that...

I know it probably won't happen anytime soon, but I JUST WANT SOO-WON AND LILI TO FALL IN LOVE + GET MARRIED 😭😭❤❤ their chemistry is undeniable, the entire kingdom can see it 🥺

Sadly, I got declined for this on Netgalley so I had to wait until it was published and then buy myself a copy. It was definitely worth the wait though, and at least I started collecting the series now!
This volume starts off where the last ended. What happened between certain people causes some tension between them but I liked that the one who confessed didn’t take it back and try to run from his feelings. There is hope for them afterall!

I love how this story continues to build up. It doesn't feel rushed at all. It has its own flow and I love it even more because of that.
