It earned the two stars through descrptive writing. I kept waiting for the story to progress and the characters to develop, but neither ever happened.

THIRSTY SCHOLARS is the first of Calderone's novels. The book was written under the guidance of Man Booker long-listed author Joan Barfoot as a part of Humber College's post-graduate creative writing mentoring program.
