The Secret Origin of the Golden State Killer: Visalia Ransacker is a fact based compendium of the crimes of the Visalia Ransacker. It's a thorough, well-written account of the crimes of the Golden State Killer at the beginning of his criminal career. I believe the original intention of this book was to give an objective, detailed account of the crimes for those interested in doing a deep-dive (perhaps with the intention of research) into the GSK case. I am exhausted from reading this book. Boy this burglar, possible rapist, and or killer has or had so much energy. I cant imagine stalking, preparing, peeping, or any of his other activities constantly for multiple years. It took me a while to get through the book, not because of the writer, but because i refused to read it at night, and there is so much information to absorb. It will be interesting to see how JJD, that is the only reference i will give the man who is suspected of being the ...more

Excellent book. Kat and Keith have done an outstanding job yet again of compiling criminal information on Joe DeAngelo during his VR/EAR/ONS spree.

Like in their last book, Case Files of the East Area Rapist / Golden State Killer, this one is plagued by at least thirty errors, such as missing words or extra words added, which is very hard to understand.
