The annual film festival is coming to town and Priscilla goes to the deliver of the shark used in the Jaws movie. It is gone and no one knows where something that large could’ve gone. The person in charge of the festival is against having any Jaw memorabilia around so did he remove it or did a person who collects Jaw memorabilia take it. Priscilla is busy setting up for the reception, trying to figure out some vandalism that is going on in town while looking for the shark.

There's a film festival on the island, featuring the movie Jaws, which was filmed there. Somebody steals Bruce the Shark! Meanwhile, Priscilla is hosting an event at the lighthouse, and having all sorts of trouble.

More original MacGuffin than usual, and lots of facts about the movie Jaws.

Well…it wasn’t what I expected. I was excited by the Shark on the cover and the synopsis on the back, but the main character hasn’t even seen Jaws, doesn’t care about the movie, and the story didn’t do anything to change her view or highlight how amazing the movie was. This was meant to be a quick read but it took me a while to finish because I just couldn’t get invested. It was slow and written in a strange way like I wasn’t in the story but it was instead being told to me in a robotic way. I mean, it was lighthearted and sweet, but just not all that interesting. And it got a little heavy-handed with the religion. Come on, she’s planning a party near the beach and everyone’s helping her…she doesn’t need to be this stressed. It just wasn’t as compelling as I anticipated. Not the love letter to Jaws I was hoping for…though it did make me want to watch the movie again! (For the millionth time) 🦈

#13 in the Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard and another enjoyable read. These are easy reading mysteries of a sort. In this one they are looking for the lost mechanical shark from Jaws which has been delivered to the island for the Film Festival. There is a following of the Jaws movie on the Island as some of the residents were stand ins and the fan club believes it is a part of their heritage. It is a 25ft long metal giant shark and it has disappeared. The driver says it was delivered to the spot he was instructed to drop it and he has a signature for it. Where could it be? Seems like something that big would be easy to find. NOT!

Once again, Priscilla Latham Grant is on the case in this installment of the "Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard" series. This time, a huge metal shark, a prop from the movie "Jaws", has vanished without a trace before an important event. Can Priscilla find out what happened and get the beloved shark returned?

This is another cozy, beach read. Just good fun. I found it a little heavy in the Jaws department. Most everyone seemed to be a fanatic. I've never gotten the hype, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.

It's September on the vineyard and it's time for a big film festival. Pricilla has rented out her yard for a Hollywood gala and discovers that she is having an impossible time getting caterers. So the cousins offer to help. In the mean time, Gerald has a decision to make, and Mildred and her Jaws movie club are in trouble when the Jaws prop they borrow from a collector in California, gets stolen.

I really liked this mystery story with everyone having a festival for the movie Jaw and the shark from a museum was ordered and the mystery is that it never came at the bridge.
