Talk about slow burn. Love and Loopholes did not give you sweet quick and fast. No insta-love is to be found where. What you get is a slow burn style romance that went on for pages before you got that sweet first kiss—and in this case, it couldn’t happen soon enough.

Kirby is having a rough go of things. Her job doesn’t pay enough—not to mention enough hours to supplement her lack of pay. On top of it all, she has no place to go except for her friend Gina’s which is almost the same as being

This book was a lot of fun! Many of us have read books about the chance marriage "business deal' and we know what will happen ... except that we don't! The twists and turns in this one were a little unexpected and it was just a fun journey to take. The book was well paced, easy to read, and super enjoyable. I was fully invested and walked around the house trying to complete tasks while still reading - which was probably pretty entertaining to watch. But I didn't want to put it down, so that ...more

To keep the family business from falling into enemy hands, Channing Lucas agrees to be blackmailed by his mother into a marriage of convenience. The “lucky lady” is Kirby Allen, who is desperate for money. LOVE AND LOOPHOLES is nothing new under the sun, with most of the expected misunderstandings and miscommunication typical of the genre. To be honest, I never really connected with any of the characters, although Channing somewhat grew on me because he was not your typical jerk or arrogant ...more

Kirby Allen is down on her luck and needs a place to live. Channing Lucas is in need of a bride to get control of his family’s company. Through a lot of meddling and desperation on both parts, they decide to save each other with a temporary marriage. Sounds like a typical romance, right? Wrong? Throw in a nosy mother in law with the best of intentions and a girlfriend who wants to teach Kirby how keep this temporary marriage paying off far in to the future, and you get Love and Loopholes.

What an interesting story. Two people caught in binds, both looking for ways out, turn to each other for the solution. However, did they find the solution they sought? What about all the meddlers trying to cause trouble? What about love?

I enjoyed the author's writing style and the way she developed the characters. They came across as real and their reactions to each other and their situations felt natural. If you think the times of boring and unfulfilling marriages of convenience are over, try

How dare life should ever be predictable. For if it ever was, there would be no joy in discovering its pleasantries. This is a wonderful book of discovering oneself, apart from sometimes being defined by others in your life if you let them. But this book reminds me through Kirby, the main character, that if you are true to yourself no matter what your life was like, it doesn't have to be the way it is. There are good people in the world who lose their focus sometimes. We have to decide we can ...more
