Shinra has found Shō at last, and he's eager to rescue him from the clutches of the Evangelist. But Shō has no memory of his older brother, and refuses to accept the possibility that the two of them are related. Shinra's only choice is to beat Shō up and drag him home, but how can he defeat someone who has the power to stop time?
Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
This was alright, but the fight between Sho and Shinra was not that interesting which is disappointing since Shinra is powering up his powers in just a few seconds while fighting his brother. We do learn a few new things about Sho and the bad guys. But the fight/talking goes on and on and on for chapters. A few of the baddies spill secrets that bad guys would never speak about in the real world but I appreciate them trying to keep the reader up to speed.
Alright, my brain is starting to hurt because I signed up for some awesome fire fights and got three science lessons instead. And high level science too. Sheldon Cooper level science.
But this volume was so good even if the explanations were a little confusing.
The only other complaint I have is that the edition I read had some misprinted pages so I had to go online to fill in the holes. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER KODANSHA!
Fire has always been a thing of nightmares for many. In this world, people are at risk of spontaneously combusting and turning into Infernals. An Infernal wants only one thing - to destroy. They are no longer considered human. That is where the Fire Force comes into play. They must protect the people.
Company 8 has wandered into the Abyss – and that's not some metaphorical phrase. They are in real danger as they enter the underground caverns that have become (have always been?) the Nether. Each member of the team will have their own unique fight to face.
Review:
And so the battle continues onward. The battles are really layered at this point, aren't they? We have the fight against the Infernals, those behind the Infernals, and now Shinra/Sho. It's a lot, but at least you won't get bored reading Fire Force Vol. 10.
Okay, there is a fair bit of info-dumping during one of the fights – so maybe you'll get bored of that? The information will be useful to know (and is pretty interesting, if a lot, all at once). How you react will probably depend on how much you want to know about the Andolla bursts.
While I found all the fights in this arc interesting (especially the last one or two), I'll admit that, at this point, I'm more interested in seeing what's next. It feels like the stage has finally been set, and it's time to see how it all plays out.
Highlights: Manga – Shonen Connected to Soul Eater Lots of Action
Shinra and Sho are finally face to face. They both have the adolla burst, and Sho has no memories of Shinra. Shinra remembers his little brother as being a baby, a helpless little being who needs his older brother to protect him, a little brother who he loves. Sho is disgusted initially by the idea that Shinra is his brother, this weak, emotionally motivated man in front of him is no match for the grace he has through the evangelist. However, as their fight continues, where Shinra discovers new powers, stronger ones, and Sho uses the powers to freeze time, Sho begins to be linked to Shinra's memories. We get a lot of information in this book about the adolla burst, adolla links and the evangelist. This is a volume worth waiting for. I wonder what's going to happen now that Sho's spirit has been worn down, and how he now knows that Shinra is his brother, and now Shinra is also extremely injured. I wonder how he's going to manage healing and training with his new powers. I also want to know more about this third adolla burst holder and what role she is going to play.
This was actually a pretty suspensful volume. With Shinra going full power on his brother he's finally able to catch up to him...almost. But what really comes down to is family and how much you'll do something for someone to protect them. While the ending gives us new villains, or reveals them atleast, we now enter a whole new part of the series. Shinra is more motivated than ever to rescue his brother and his fire force team are backing him up 100%.
Fire Force remains a really solid shonen anime with plenty of great action packed moments and some heartfelt as well. I do worry since it's already up to volume 21 in america and volume 25 in Japan, so how long can we go? But it's still damn entertaining so let's see.

Company 8 is in The Nether (old underground train tunnels) to attack the base of the White Clad. Lots of action and fighting.
This volume (chapters 79 - 87) concentrates 0n Shinra battling Sho. The only draw back for me were the pages in which Licht goes into great detail explaining how Sho is able to stop time. Eventually Shinra is able to control time to some extent and finds a way to share his memories with his little brother.
The anime follows the manga very closely, so if you have watched the currently available episodes there won't be any surprises.
I'm still amazed by the artwork and enjoying the story.
Shinra is starting to break through Sho and keep up with Sho's powers. Got to see another person's powers, who also has Adolla Burst. Tough fight for Shinra, but he is ok. Will we get to know more of what happened 12 years go in the next volume?
Even though this is one of my favorite volumes of all, I agree with people who said it is getting very complicated. Instead of answering certain questions about powers or the world itself, more questions are presented (it is as if I am watching Lost all over). However, it does not mean that I didn't enjoy this book. In fact, I really liked it, especially the long-awaited fight between Shinra and Sho. During the fight, we learn that there is something called 4th Generation, which is super rare and those people are absurdly powerful like Sho and Shinra. The explanation for this 4th generation was not great but it all makes sense in the future. The Netherworld Arc is almost over and it is probably my favorite arc so far.
4.5* stars. Review summary: The feels and action are strong with this volume. I love the quirkiness of the characters and seeing Shinra's growth as a fire soldier, but also as a young man. To volume 11, let's go!
Full review: Things are really heating up in Fire Force, I love how almost everything in this volume was Shinra and his little brother Shō, basically being brothers, despite Shō's lack of memory and brattiness - Shinra's phrasing. It's also really cool that, apparently, subways are a thing of the past in the Fire Force world, the underground tunnels now considered a taboo and scary place. Being underground, it's where "the light of Amaterasu cannot reach," essentially being the boogie man for ill-behaved kids. It's still unnerving even for adults too, and the entrances are off limits without written consent with the government.
I love how throughout the whole series even in the serious parts there's a bit (or a lot) of jokes and lighthearted scenes. Though lately, some of the more serious notes have been a little jarring. Like how the team 8's new scientist, Licht, explained to Shinra how heat could make time slow or even stop in the middle of a major fight - that Shinra was in - or the rather corny medical dramatics. Don't get me wrong, I'm rather intrigued how an entire fire company based out of a hospital as a medical unit along with firefighting works in this world, but the team's introduction still felt corner than the normal silliness of the series.
That said, I am glad I have the omnibuses and can keep reading, because I need to learn more about the Evangelist and what their plan is for Shinra and the other Adolla Burst or fourth gen people. And of course see how Shinra is able to get his brother back, because let's be real, he has to convince Shō to come to his side, right!?... Right?

Volume 10 will go down as being the best or 2nd best volume of the series as the epic reunion between brothers never let up one moment. It was just as fantastic and awesome as I hoped and I left feeling really pleased and excited. I pray the series only gets even more explosive and incredible from here on out.
Key pieces of world building were provided in this volume which finally closed the book on some of the more intriguing aspects to the series. Though while some books were closed many more were opened or at least had their pages flipped as we got bits and pieces of the meats we needed.
Really, I’m still blown away by the book and just can’t take even a few moments to spoil its contents. It was just that good. Really, really awesome and awesome integration of science/fiction and magical fantasy. Really good!
My volume had a few flipped and cut off pages from the printing process it seems which was a great inconvenience and one I wished I noticed when I first bought it instead of so many months later. I can only hope that a second or such printing corrected the issue as it happened during a few of the post battle chapters.
So this volume was pretty nice. It concluded the fight between Shinra and Sho and was decently heartfelt...but it wasn’t as exciting as the last volume I feel. Not that it needed to be but it started feeling too complicated during the fight. I have no idea what’s going to happen moving forward so my speculation could be right or wrong but I actually thought the explanation would be different involving the Adolla Burst and Shinra’s link would be different. Felt a little too congested as far as explanations go. Still entertained by this manga though. I’ll be sad when I’m caught up.
Entertaining, though this time probably the most ridiculous the story has gotten yet. One character has the ability to control the expansion of the universe to control time, and then Shinra develops his own abilities to the point he can fight on the same level in a matter of moments.
Still, the fake science babble required some research, and some of the action was ridiculous and fun.

Seriously, if you’re this far along, reading this volume, you know what you’re getting into. Everything has been leading to this. And man it delivers. Great action, crazy reveals, and some heart wrenching drama.
This series has quickly become a low key favorite of mine. I can’t wait to see where it heads.
More information regarding the Adolla Burst/Link was revealed in this volume. Everything made me want to learn more about it and the implications. Victor nerding off with all the science involved made me chuckle quite a few times. In the next volume it seems that more information will come to light regarding what happened twelve years ago with Shinra and his brother!
This volume is primarily to show us the conflict between Shinra and Show, which give us a lot of emotions and was good. The cliffhanger was very good as well although the lore got so much expended that sometimes I found myself lost with it.
Alright Shinra, figuring out how to get a link and adding more speed!!
He got Sho back, that was dirty of Haumea! I hope Shinra doesn't hold it against the rest of Company 8 that they had to leave Sho in order to save Shinra. Now Shinra can get Sho back himself ❤️

This was good. The fight between Sho and Shinra was so good. I got a bit lost trying to understand the explanation of Shinras powers, but eventually I got it. This volume was intense and kept me wanting to read more.
