When Alyson, top-flight FBI agent and the world's last dragon shifter, and her vampire partner Vlad saved the world last month, they thought that would be the last apocalypse they would ever have to deal with. But not only did Alyson find out that she isn't the last dragon in the world, but a fresh ritualistic murder sends the pair on a death-defying investigation overseas to Russia, and right into Vlad's dark past. With enemies on all sides and no support from the FBI, Alyson and Vlad need to crack the case before not only are they taken out, but the entire race of vampires is wiped from the planet!
This is Ritual Of Death, book 2 of An FBI Dragon Shifter series, written by JL Hendricks. I love this series!! Alyson and Vladimir continue to work together and try to solve the case. As they become closer it gets even harder for them to keep the relationship strictly professional. It’s got a lot of mystery, fun, steam and so much more. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!
Alyson is a top Investigator and a dragon shifter as well. Totally enjoyable and different style of read. It’s a don’t put down until you’re done kind of story.
Interesting book. FBI agents that are paranormal. One keeps their ability hidden since they believe they are the last but find out that they might not be in this current case. What really peak my interest was that vampires have a demon inside when turned. First for me and interesting concept.
The book moved really fast with me only being able to read at night. Was over before I knew it. Very fast paced and suspense. I really enjoyed this book, not my usual genre but the FBI and Dragon combination really tweaked my interest.
I disagree that this book cannot be read as a standalone. I read this book and had no problem following the story. Yes , there will always be references to the previous book(s) when reading out of order. This one works fine, I never read the first one. Yes I would like to go back and read the first in the series and am planning to follow the series also.
I did received this book as an ARC and this is my honest and freely given review. I apologize for the lateness of this review. Time ran away from me.
Alyson is a dragon shifter and FBI Agent with her vampire partner Vlad. They recently finished a case and thought they would have finished with the apocalyptic scenarios even though she also discovered there is another dragon shifter in existence. Now there is a fresh ritualistic murder and they are going to have to go on a very dangerous operation in Russia which will mean they have to go into Vlad's dark past. Can they handle this on their own and stop the vampire race being wiped off the planet?
This was action all the way as they went into extreme danger. I loved that there was a lot of expansion on Vlad's past and also some closening in the relationship between Alyson and Vlad too. There were a lot of twists and turns in the story and times when it was difficult to work out who to trust too. Well written and very enjoyable - can't wait to find out what happens next.
I haven't read the first book in the series and I was a bit worried I would be lost from the beginning since it is book 2. There was no need for the worry. Although, it does talk about a few things from book 1 briefly it just flows in the story. I loved Alyson and Vlad. Their partnership and friendship made the story even better. The storyline takes us to Russia where Vlad is from which enhanced the story also! This was so much fun to read and there are several characters that I thought really added to the overall effect. I am SO VERY MUCH looking forward to the next in the series!!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
This is the second book in the FBI Dragon Chronicles and picks up around the location that the first book ends. It is recommended that you read the first book in the series or you will be completely lost on some of the things that are going on. There is a recap in the book so that may help some readers but why would you want to skip the first book? The action and suspense in this book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering just what was going to happen, and when I got to the end I was wishing that I already had the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I love Vlad and Alyson their partnership and budding relationship "mates" should not work, but it does on all levels. They are wonderful together and bravely watch each others backs through thick and thin. All the unusual characters in the book are super interesting and quirky even the villains. The whole story was exciting and fast paced and kept me guessing which I liked a lot. At the end there was a glimpse of all the good things to come in the series. That is a very good thing to end a story with when there is more to follow. it makes the reader interested to anticipate the next book.
This is A Ritual Of Death, book 2 in the FBI Dragon Chronicles, written by JL Hendricks and J A Cipriano. This book picks up where we left off with Alyson and Vlad as they try to stop Dimitri from what he is doing. A bunch of vampires, some shifters of all kinds, fae, witches, and magic of all sorts keep this book very entertaining. Vlad and Alyson have to fight harder for their safety and to no jump each other....but where is the fun in resisting? Don’t miss book 2!
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Wow, this is book 2 and it grabbed a hold of me and didn't let go til the end. After all the trouble Alyson & Vlad went through in the last story with a serial killer of paranormals, I thought that this would be a different story. It is different but yet still connected to the first. In this one vampires are being slaughtered. I can't wait for book 3. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.
This is the second book of the series. I didn't read the first one but need to read it to understand the storyline better. The story is well written and enjoyable. I am not sure if this book picks up where the first ended but there is a prologue that recounts the first book. The characters are relatable and likable. The plot flows well with the story and the twist it takes keep you turning the page. I can't wait to read the next book I received and ARC and voluntarily leaving my review.
The Alyson and Vlad partnership is back in action to save the world. Ritualistic murders and paranormals playing games of low have them on the edge. Can they stop another apocalypse? Will they find true? I Ilike the action and romance. I look forward to the next book.
I have been thoroughly enjoying the adventures of Vlad and Alyson! The only reason I did not give five stars is because I read the first and second books back to back and found characters and significant scenes had changed between book one and book two. Otherwise, it was a fun ride and I will be getting book three!
A Ritual of Death, the second book of the FBI Dragon Chronicles series, is a book I picked up through Kindle Unlimited. I really enjoy the characters of Vlad and Alyson, both are strong and competent. Their dedication to their job, their ethics, and their friendship are really well done. Some very interesting plot twists created some unexpected moments.
Great story. Another world changing event averted. Alyson and Vlad continue to be awesome partners yet Alyson continues to be mystified with their relationship. The future holds promise.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. I am posting my honest review.
This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. I loved reading this story cause it has a dragon shape shifter , vampire in it. This story has a very strong story line and strong characters that I fell in love with as the story progressed.
They were looking for a break after a hard case but they are not so lucky as they are drawn into her another adventure. What will they have to do this time? See if they find the truth I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
Action Packed Page Turner. Alyson and Vlad now travel to Russia and are fighting crime and dealing with more paranormals and magic. Great Story and Series. I received an advanced copy of this book and the review is voluntary.
Combination of Twilight and mystery abounding with paranormal popping up all over the place.Val and Allison are growing closer and closer while overwhelming those who get in their way.
The fun continues with Vlad and Alyson. Big adventure in Moscow with all sorts of craziness. Alyson gets her Dragon and deals havoc with the bad guys. Looking forward to more.
This case started weird with Alison and Val. Then it becomes international. Again FBI., Dragon-shifter, Vampire and possible entanglement. This just increases the tension between them. Possibly another for like Allison?

Alyson and her partner, Vlad, are part of the FBI's special department for paranormal crimes. Its a good fit, saLad is a vampire and she is a dragon shifter, the last as far as she knows. Until this case, where she scents another dragon! Great read!
Alyson and Vlad are one of those couples that I will never forget, even after I've finished reading the third and final book. I hope that they will show up in cameo roles in other stories. A Ritual of Death is a thrill ride from the start!
Superb as always. Alyson is an FBI dragon shifter. She always believed she was the last dragon, until she discovers she’s wrong. Plenty of action to keep you reading.
I love the urban fantasy genre, and this book hit all of my must-haves. There is danger, mystery, suspense, excitement, and tons of action. I am loving it!
This is a really amazing series. So much fun to read. It has everything you could possibly want. Suspense, intrigue, good storyline and good characters.
