That was so satisfying, both the book and the ending of the series. Nice little mystery, and then the mix up in communication with letters and telegrams, finishing with the reunion with evening star. I wanted this to happen but didn't see any way it could.

I feel that they will have a happy marriage, and that they have grown with all their knowledge of life since they met. It might not have been as good before. There may have been resentment over their cultural differences. They've both suffered so much now together and apart and they can overcome many things.

I love Sam and Jake's friendship. Missing each other, loving each other, and being strong enough to admit to each other in so many words and reactions and jokes. It's healthy, and so rare to see in real life or books. It broke Jake's heart to think Sam really gave up and ran off with a woman for money. Doc would be alright either way but it's been eating at Jake.

Leigh's death was well-done. It had the christian thing which I was expecting but distasteful, well done and realistic. It made sense for the story that she would have to die, she was a villain in her story, not innocent. She can't go unpunished. She's also a tragic character, as much as her sister. She only wanted love.

I am overall so surprised and impressed with this series and I loved it so much.

This is the final book in the Sam Keaton western series. In this one, we finally see Sam's faith growing more substantially, as he deals with sorrows and challenges.

We finally get to a happy ending.

I would recommend the entire series. Mr. Brouwer is a fine storyteller. This is the kind of series which stays with the reader for a long time to come.

Refreshing new plots for westerns.

Excellent series. Refreshing to have western adventure, mystery and humor in the mix. I enjoyed all the characters involved in the stories, mixed in with the twist and turns of the plot. I shall be eager to continue reading more books by this author.

A great read!

The plot is well written. It keeps you guessing "who done ut?" Also you find out the back story on all the people. I also appreciated the show of faith the Marshall shows!

When you find the fourth book of a set you read the first three of in middle school, you buy it from Goodwill and embrace the nostalgia, even if it ends up being only 3 ⭐️ and worse than you remember.

Gotta love when Christian fiction relentlessly shoehorns the Gospel message in.

Great finish to this 4-book series. Wyoming Marshal Sam Keaton begins another adventure once some Texas Rangers show up inquiring about a deceased town drunk who turns out to be more than he first appears. Lots of plot twists throughout, with nothing resolved until the final few pages.

My personal favorite of Legends of Laramie, and well worth reading the original three (each with their own strength and drive) to fully appreciate this final installment. The complexity of the mystery credits the MC's intelligence and determination and naturally embroils him in scandal and grisly murder.

Love these books ... the wholesome cowboy type of my years growing up in the 30s/40s but still great reading for anyone. There are heroes and villains and all comes right in the end.
