In the conclusion of Cecelia Earl’s Kingdom Come trilogy, Julia White has acknowledged and accepted her place fighting beside heaven’s warrior angels. And while she’s learned some hard lessons, she still tends to play the lone ranger and face the fight on her own.

Lucifer isn’t the only one who wants something from the White family. And Julia isn’t sure who she can trust.

One concept Earl explores (especially in the second and third books of the trilogy) is Grace (given to humans) and Glory (given

The third book had more impact on me than the first and second. I love how the story unveiled itself one by one and that the mystery from the second book was finally revealed.

The ending was quite epic! Again, the story was written in fast-paced and it had good proportions of action scenes. After I read the third book, I realized that the whole series was about self-discovery. I thought in the first book, the main character had discovered herself. Then in the second book, she dug deeper into her

In the final book, Julia has accepted her place in fighting spiritual battles, though she still has a lot to learn. The book does a phenomenal job of building up to the climax and ending. There are quite a few plot twists that took me by surprise and I loved getting some answers at the end.

When Fire Rains Down

An epic conclusion to this stunning biblical fantasy! Angels and demons and the fight for freedom and balance collide. I really enjoyed the various twists and turns the story took. It kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. I enjoyed discovering more about the characters and how everything came together.

What a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy! This book starts out with a bang and keeps picking up speed until the last page when all questions are answered. There are more twists and turns to the plot in this final installment than in the previous two books and the intensity of the plot builds with each turn of events. The town of Shady Creek is at stake and the angels and saints must fight the demons and Lucifer himself to free the trapped Guardian Angels and stop the evil ones from sucking th ...more

Free will novelized

Throughout the Kingdom Come series, the protagonist, Julia, has been infuriating, arrogant, stubborn, but intensely loving. She's often thought she had few choices, but in this final story, she realizes how important choice, free will, is for her and those she's always tried so hard to protect.
It's more than a choice between Cole and Nicolas, whether or not she can trust her father or Mila, even more than the choice between good and evil.
Julia finally accepts everyone must hav

I loved reading this series back to back as well as seeing both the author and the series grow throughout this journey. The book was written very well and all the characters had great development. The story was also very enjoyable with almost nonstop action.

I kind of wished it was a little longer though. It wasn’t too fast, but I felt that the book could have been a bit longer if the author described more of what was going on throughout the story. This series builds well, though and the battles

I believe "When Fire Rains Down" is my favorite book in the Kingdom Come series. Julia's growth over the course of the book, and indeed since book 1, is remarkable (and believably so).

I was concerned for a while that the book would turn out like "Allegiant" (book 3 in the Divergent series), but thankfully it didn't (hallelujah, on multiple levels!).

Plenty of twists and turns, and a satisfying ending to the series. I've been reading the series all week, and am sad to see it end!

Be sure to read th

I really loved this series. This YA Paranormal Fantasy series about a hybrid Angel was captivating from the start.

This book was very immersive, and you get can really see how the characters deepen and grow through the series. It did seem to lack a bit of depth when it came to the details and I felt it could have used to few more to help strengthen what was going on. Though it did not effect the st

What an epic ending to this brilliant trilogy! Julia will do whatever it takes to rescue those captured by hell's army of demonic monsters and restore her town to lovely place it was before Lucifer marched in,but the fight is getting intense and storming the gates of hell on rescue mission seems the only plausible thing to do. Much is at stake in this fight and Julia must accept who she is and stand for what she believes in. It's a the climatic battle that can save everyone or destroy them. Can ...more

When I first picked up When Fire Rains Down by Cecelia Earl, I was drawn to the pretty covers and the fantasy idea of angels vs. demons. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one for me. While there was a lot of non-stop action, it just seemed like the story dragged and had a lack of detail.

I'm always sad when a series that I've enjoyed comes to an end. Ms. Earl does such a good job creating the world in these books. You have Angels, Demons and people that are half angel and half human. Our protagonist is Julia, she along with her dad and brother Noah are all hybrids. War is coming. Good verses Evil. Heaven verses Hell. Angels verses Demons. If you have read the other two books I think you will love the way this book ends. Of course I can't tell you about it. You have to buy the bo ...more

Book three is a nice close to the series. Julia has finally accepted her role as a semi-angel and I fighting against the baddies. But, there’s an offer that’s almost too tempting that she has to choose or refuse.
-
The mystery of the previous book comes back into play and is explained more.
-
The writer has done well with closing the loops that were open from previous works. Good job!

A fun series to binge-read, Cecelia Earl’s Kingdom Come series builds to a conclusion of epic proportions, satisfying every desire I had for Julia’s story in the final installment, When Fire Rains Down. The story twists and turns with great surprise and adventure, and I can’t say too much more for the risk of letting a few spoilers loose. At times, it does progress slowly, but still never failed to keep my interest—as I’m sure it will for readers who enjoy spiritual fantasy, too. Check out Wh

Cecelia Earl credits her passion for penning fiction to a mandatory sixth grade study hall. She could have gotten her math done, but instead chose to write a teen mystery series, loosely inspired by Sweet Valley High, Trixie Belden, and Nancy Drew--her favorite series at the time. She never shared the stories with anyone, and time moved on. Sadly, she had no more mandatory study halls during which ...more
