This was hilarious, and oh so relatable. Highly recommended to moms who need a laugh with their nightly glass of wine!
#imomsohard is a popular web series started on YouTube by Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley. They're women, wives, and moms that talk about mostly hilarious women's and motherhood issues in pure, unfiltered honesty. They show the good, the bad, and the ugly, and make themselves look ridiculous on purpose so their viewers can know they're not alone on those hard days. A friend of mine introduced me to their style of entertainment when the swimsuit segment went live and I was immediately intrigued. ...more

I adore a funny, self-deprecating parenting book, and I LOVED #IMomSoHard at the start. I was telling everyone about it, and I was convinced it would be a favorite of mine. The audio version of this book is very charming, and I was hooked. However, though it remained decent up until the end, it became very repetitive over time and I found myself fast-forwarding as I went along.

I'm a part time working mom, and I try to do it all, just like most of my fellow moms out there. I'm

Warning: This will be a total fangirl review.

So there are so many mommy bloggers, you tubers, mom duos with videos on Facebook, who are all over Twitter. I follow a bunch because I am a mom. One who does not have it all together. One who likes to know she isn't the only one just muddling through this parent thing. I have to say there are so many lovely ladies that are super funny, really honest and just seem to get the whole mommy thing. The ladies of #IMomSoHard are my favorite. Their video on
I enjoyed this one... if it's something you think you would be into, definitely do it as an audio book. It was funny, but I think it was more of a book about being okay with yourself as a Mom and realizing you don't have to be the Pinterest perfect mommy and serve organic vegetables 24/7. Like the description says, it's not a self-help book, but it gives you plenty of real talk. Being okay with your after baby body, dealing with post-partum, knowing your not alone with the highs and lows of ...more

"If there is one word that captures motherhood, it's not "exalting." It's "exhaustion." Being this tired all the time is torture. Men have confessed to crimes that they did not commit because they were kept awake for twenty-four hours. If you put a mom in an interrogation room, she'll last four and a half years." - #IMomSoHard

When I was gifted this book by the publisher, I had no idea who Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley were. And, if I'm being honest, I still don't really know who they are, but
I am not the intended audience of this book: I am not married. I am not a Mom. I am also about as celibate as a nun and not likely to become a mom any time soon. I still found this book hilarious and 100% recommend. (Mom or not.)
The thing is, your friend gets married. And if you run in the circles I do, that means they have a baby in about a year. Maybe two. Or three. Or more. And that's great! I am not one of those people who complains about babies in her newsfeed. Keep 'em coming. But it

My days with very small children are mostly in the rear view, but #IMomSoHard is just a fun reminder about how fundamentally women are rewired when they become mothers. Hensley and Smedley are hysterical and I would recommend the audio for their high energy performance. I didn't know who these two friends were before I saw this book, but what I appreciated about them is that they are equal parts snark and sassy without being mean. They support moms. They support the journey of motherhood. They ...more
Hilarious and real. I laughed out loud so many times. One of my favorite audio books of the year.

I listen to this one and hearing the back and forth of Kristen and Jen raised the enjoyment of this book. Their supportive, relatable, compassionate, and humorous take on being a wife and a mother was the perfect balance of good advice and laughter. If you enjoy their YouTube videos, then you will really enjoy listening to this one. Highly recommended.

I grabbed this book on a trusted friend’s recommendation. I haven’t seen the #IMOMSOHARD series but, you guys, these are MY kind of moms. Kristin is basically me, except I *do* love banana-flavored candy. It’s honest and hilarious while discussing some very real issues about life and parenting. It’s the most relatable “mom book” I’ve ever read. Kristin and Jen remind us that we’re not alone which is perhaps the most important thing to remember on the toughest days.

Holy Crap! I wish I could give this book 10 stars!
Funny, honest, and so close to home...seriously wish I was neighbors with these two badass Moms.

I think they are funny...most of the time. The book was very repetitive and a bit one note, so I got tired and dragged through the final chapters. Let me sum it up for you- being a mom is hard, nobody is perfect so don't think you have to be or assume they are, having some good friends you can laugh with and not taking yourself too seriously is key, and love and support the other mom's out there. There you go!

I am not one who likes books about people talking about their life but this book was awesome and I feel like anyone who is a mom or going to be a mom should read/listen to this book it makes you feel good because you are not alone in this mom life.

Funny, but also very real. Lots of women’s empowerment and encouragement to just love and support each other and be ourselves. Really enjoyed it!

I wish i could rate this at 10 stars. IF YOU ARE A MOTHER, YOU NEED THIS BOOK. If you know someone who is a mother or about to become one, BUY THEM THIS BOOK. I've bought my 3rd copy because I keep giving mine away to loved ones.
Motherhood is no effing joke; if you want a real, raw, hilarious, cry-laughing pair of ladies to help you through the poo-trench that is early parenthood, browse one single chapter. It'll take you a week because no one will leave you alone while you are reading but it

Comedians Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the creators of #IMomSoHard, present their hilarious take on carrying babies (so hard), mothering (so hard), wife-ing (so hard)... as well as doing many other things (you guessed it ... so hard).

I was entertained (so hard) by their views and stories and laughed out loud (so hard) numerous times. They took turns narrating the audiobook (so hard), so I would highly recommend that version. If you're in the mood for a light, fun, and entertaining listen,

I love this book! I kept wanting to stop reading, so I could text excerpts to my mom friends, except I couldn't stop reading because it was so good. I love the authors and have been a big fan for a while. I love that they are so supportive of every mom. They don't judge. They're just about keeping things real and being supportive to other moms. Every mother should read this book, (and watch their videos and go see them live). Also, thanks Kristin and Jen for including adoptive mothers in this ...more
This was ok. As a mom I get what they are saying. It just wasn't that funny. It's an ok book. Maybe it's better as stand up material but for me this book was just meh.

A laugh-as-you-cry book about all the things moms do to keep kids and husbands alive and well (and maybe happy), and the strength and importance of the women who get you through it all. With a glass of wine, of course.

"There is nothing like a mob of moms celebrating our collective boss power to restore your faith in the universe."

I first learned of Kristin and Jen in my heady days of Facebook. I ran across one of their videos shortly after the birth of my second child and laughed in the kind of sleep deprived delirium only a new baby can give you.

Last year me and my two Tennessee besties got to see these moms live and it was also a hilarious night, despite the fact I had to leave a little early to get back to relieve my teenage babysitter on a weeknight when my husband was out of town for work travel (I can attest that

Though I don’t follow these #imomsohard friends, I have seen the occasional video when it gets shared across my feed. They are are funny, so when I saw this at the library, I picked it up. So much of what they talk about in the book is relatable, if not to me, than to someone close to me, and I stayed mostly interested throughout the book. I love how supportive they are of other moms - and women in general - and was pleasantly surprised at the positive tone pervading the book. The biggest thing ...more

This book was fun, relatable, and honest. I went back and forth between print and audio and enjoyed both formats. It literally felt like hanging with a friend and venting about all the challenges of motherhood. Yes, they mention wine a lot, but I love wine! Their message is important though: if you’re a mama, you’ve gotta take care of YOU. Whether that means getting a facial, splurging on an expensive pair of shoes if you can afford it, or just asking your partner for a few hours of alone time ...more

4.5 stars. Well, I read this in pretty much a day. Probably due to the fact that I was in the mood to binge read, I had the time to binge read, and I enjoyed this book. I haven’t followed their YouTube channel or really known much about them other than watching a select few video clips, but I don’t think that makes me appreciate their book any less. I like their honesty, their support of moms, and the overall funny, uplifting tone. I found myself crying, laughing, and vigorously nodding in ...more

I loved this book so hard. I was laughing out loud, relating to 99% of what they were saying, and admiring the hell out of the mom community. I was thankful for their praise, their advice, and their love, which I could feel through their voices. I had never even heard of them before I picked up this book, and I'm really glad this was my introduction to #imomsohard.

This isn’t a book to power through, I mean you do you and all, but reading a chapter or two when you’re at the most stressed of the day is really a fantastic way to turn things around.
#IMOMSOHARD is a hilarious, sweet, and self-depreciating ode to all the pieces of being a mother. It’s everything l expected these ladies to print and more. Beyond happy to have bought a signed copy and I can’t wait for more online content from them and a second book, yeah?

I love this book so much. These moms are from the MidWest so I immediately felt a kinship with them. They're also moms with a sarcastic sense of humor about the crazy lives we moms live. This book made me laugh out loud and just made me feel like I wasn't alone in ignoring the fact that my kid just ate play doh or that she might hate me for what i'm doing now but she'll love me for it later. Love this book

What better book than #IMomSoHard for Mother’s Day?! Kristin and Jen are two badass Moms and I love the kindness and compassion they’re showing towards fellow Moms. These two aren’t here to judge. They’re here to pat you on the back, make you laugh until you pee your pants a little and lift one another up. Kudos to these ladies who remind us that we are better together.
