I think this was my first trip to Iceland and what a trip it was, to see two people who need help with things from the past and to be able to give to each other the love and caring needed was beautiful and the sights of Iceland the beautiful northern lights amazing, take a seat and enjoy this one.

Betty Jacinth is a great doctor in New York but after being used, cheated on and dumped by her ex, she decides that a change is just what the doctor needs, so she goes to Iceland to take up a temporary

This is a real page turner read, with a talented surgeon, Betty Jacinth, travelling to work in Iceland for three months, just like her father did decades before. She’s going now because she’s ready for a change after the untimely death of her father and discovering that her now ex-boyfriend - and manipulative boss who used her skills and undermined her self belief to promote himself - is marrying someone else. When she arrives in Iceland she’s met by Dr Axel Sturlusson, someone she’l

Utterly awesome book most definitely proving that as always love is the best medicine, in more ways than one.

I loved our heroine and hero and very much connected with the both on their journey. Both had their issues and together well il not spoil it but if you love romance and love conquering all youl love this as Amy never dissapoints.

Thank you for writing this awesome book x

Ireland is a cold place, but also a beautiful place. And while Betty and Axel may start out with a bit of chill in the air, the slow-building fire between them definitely heats everything up and leaves you warm and fuzzy.

Both of them are dealing with difficult pasts. Betty had her heart broken when her ex-boyfriend left her to marry another woman after spending months belittling her in the hospital back in New York. Axel was the only survivor in a tragic helicopter accident that killed his broth

A sweet romance--this was actually my first medical romance, and it served as a nice intro to the genre!

Betty is looking for a way to start over, an ocean away from her toxic (and now married) ex. Axel can't get over his brother's death, nor, as a surgeon in his hospital, can he get away from his father's control. What neither of them is looking for is a relationship...but of course we all know where this is going, right? ;)

Betty and Axel, languag

Sometimes what you've truly been looking for is right around the next corner! A story of fleeing heartbreak and ending up finding more than you bargained for at the other end. The characters are well rounded, the drama is high and the slow building relationship is a joy to watch. Enjoyed it!

When Betty Jacinth suffers one more heartache than she can handle, she decides to take advantage of an offer she received to leave New York and head to Iceland to experience working in a foreign country for a

The story is cute and all, but I found it a bit too formulaic, could anticipate the twists and turns a mile away. The characters were not very well developed and we do not find much about them besides their inner turmoil and sexual desires, and I would've wanted to get to know them on a deeper level than that. I had some issues with the heroine who was in constant need of saving despite screaming that she was an independent woman, she struggled to hold her own until the very end. Axel also lacke ...more

I was looking forward to this, the blurb seemed interesting. But, I could never really get into it. I just felt frustrated with the story and the protagonists. It was a never ending feeling sorry for yourself pattern for both of them. Betty wanting to stop the "control" her ex had over her but accepting calls from him? I didn't understand her or felt sympathy for her (he's married girl!). Axel with his pity party attached to him everyday. It was exhausting. I think those things kept the

I picked up Amy Ruttan's book "NY Doc Under The Northern Lights" last night and I couldn't put it down. I read the book staight through. Betty Jacinth is a really good surgeon who left NY for Iceland after she found out her BF was using her skills for his own gains, and her married someone else. Dr. Axel Sturlusson is suffering from survivors guilt, PTSD, and is guardian to his niece. His father in a stickler for rules and never lets Axel forget what a disappointment he is. Axel is sent to pick ...more

Dr. Axel Sturlusson has enough on his plate between dealing with his father who constantly reminds him he is a disappointment, being a guardian to his niece and on top of it constantly lives over in his mind the worst day of his life. What he doesn't need is for another doctor to join them, and one that is running away from an incident in her past. Surgeon Betty Jacinth is at a point where she just can't deal with anymore heartache so she grabs the opportunity to start anew. From the minute Axel ...more

NY Doc Under The Northern Lights by Amy Ruttan is fabulous. I loved this sweet romance. Love at first sight between two people who wanted noting to do with a relationship so they try keeping each other at an arms distance. Axel and Betty are absolutely adorable. The different routes they took to finding happiness is very blissful.

Betty Jacinth needs to get away and when the perfect opportunity arises for her to go and work in Iceland, she takes it. However, working alongside Dr. Axel Sturlusson isn’t easy, especially when she’s so attracted to him. Yet, with her recent heartbreak and Axel not looking for a relationship, will the pair give into temptation or will they walk away from their shot at happy ever after? Read More

Born and raised on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario Amy fled the big city to settle down with the country boy of her dreams. When she's not furiously typing away at her computer, she's a mom to three wonderful children, who have given her another job as a taxi driver.

A voracious reader, she was given her first romance novel by her grandmother who shared her penchant for a hot romance. From that m
