Rescued by the Firefighter by Catherine Lanigan is an enjoyable contemporary romance story that readers of the other books in the Shores of Indian Lake series are sure to enjoy. From page one, the story starts out a bit intense, grabbing the attention of readers, making them want to know more about what will happen next. This novel is full of a cast of characters that readers are sure to enjoy, from the adults and their sweet romance to the children and their fun inclusion in the book. This is a ...more

I always love a visit to Indian Lake – such a charming town with great characters! This latest installment adds a camp director with a big heart and the swoony firefighter who rescues her in more ways than one.

This book grabbed my attention right from the beginning, with a raging forest fire headed straight for Beatrice’s camp for kids & two of the little boys out in the middle of the danger. Beatrice is extremely brave and courageous when it comes to her camp kids (though perhaps not matters of

For readers who have been following Catherine Lanigan’s Shores of Indian Lake series, there are plenty of familiar faces (names?) within the pages of Rescued by the Firefighter. And for those who have missed the previous books, this may just be the best time to jump into them because Beatrice and Rand are brand new characters who (at least to my knowledge. But full disclosure: I have read most but not every book in the series) haven’t been introduced before.

Rescuing hearts

Hmm. What to say? A handsome firefighter who rescues the damsel in distress. Sounds like a fairy tale, right? Well, maybe. However, despite the valiant rescue that introduced the story, things really began to heat up as Rand made choices that Beatrice took personally.

Beatrice has a heart of gold. Because she experienced neglect in her childhood, she was determined to show love to as many children as came into her path. When the aftermath of the fire threatens her camp, she is furi

Such a touching story! With a return visit to Shores of Indian Lake, we see lots of the old regulars and meet some news ones as we embark on a heartwarming story of hope. Bea pledged her life to helping less fortunate kids have an enjoyment they couldn't get elsewhere at her camp. She teaches them their own worth, she shares fun life lessons with them, and most of all, she makes sure each and every one of them knows they are loved. The characters catch our attention from the start and the plot i ...more

From the start I knew that I was going to enjoy these two characters. A caregiver and a firefighter, two people you want to live happily ever after. However as the book progressed I was not so happy with them. First "Bee" (Which I love where she got her nickname and it reminded me of my dad's nickname that he used to call me), runs into a fire and gets burnt. Then she doesn't take care of herself with the fire wounds. She completely shut Rand out and told him from the beginning that she did not ...more

This is a awesome story. I loved Beatrice Cox and Rand Nelson. I would want them in my corner any day. Beatrice has the biggest heart and puts others ahead of herself. Especially children. Her camp is to help children. Rand NASA big heart as well but as a firefighter he knows safety has to come first. Its a great story of love being let in. Its a book you will be turning the pages to see what's happening next with Rand and Beatrice. Its a story that will warm your heart. Talk about a play on wor ...more

Rescued by the Firefighter by Catherine Lanigan is a great read. This book is a welcoming visit back to Shores of Indian Lake. I love visiting with old friends from previous visits. Rand and Beatrice are a great edition to the rest of the Shores of Indian Lake family. Beatrice and Rand are sweet together but Rand has a dangerous career that could very well tear them apart. I enjoyed this exciting heartwarming romance.

This is a good story with many twists and turns that keeps you reading. The characters were complex and likeable.

This story begins very exciting and suspenseful but as it unfolded it was a bit dull and too long....however I felt it was a good subject matter and I would like to read other books by this author!

Rescued by the Firefighter is book ten in the Shores of Indian Lake series, and I’ve read all but the first to books, so I was anxiously awaiting a return visit. The author draws you into the story immediately with a fire in the woods near the camp Beatrice owns. Upping the already intense action, two children are missing and Beatrice runs into the fire to rescue them only to be rescued by Rand. Rand and Beatrice have an instant connection, and Rand’s interaction with the two boys from the fire ...more

I love returning to Indian Lake for a couple of reasons, first of all it seems like a quaint town where neighbors are friends and secondly those neighbors and friends are characters that I really, really like.

This book was my favorite because I loved the storyline of the children’s camp and the camp director, Beatrice Wilcox is so sweet and caring it’s impossible not to like her. Another character that I found irresistible is firefighter, Rand Nelson. Oh my, but he had my heart as soon as he cam
