Over 60 and Picking up Speed: A Spring Chicken Tells How Not to Make a Career Out of Growing Older

Rate this book
Aging is far from a holy hoot. We are reminded of this every time silent reflections in the bathroom mirror display increasingly obvious...uhh...laugh lines. Here's a candid, humorous, first-person look at growing older from a confirmed spring chicken. You'll read about ruts and wrinkles, bunions and benefits, nostalgia and new knees. But growing older isn't as bad as some make it out to be, and you don't have to make a career of it. This book reminds readers of God's faithfulness, provision, and yes, sense of humor! A perfect gift book for those hard-to-buy-for senior adults, Over 60 and Picking Up Speed will bring smiles, nods of agreement, and reminders of how NOT to make a career of growing older.

I am not 60 or older so I am still unsure why I chose to get this book and as I read it I realized it was a religious book and I am not religious so I almost put it down. I gave it a chance though and I was surprised by how enjoyable this book actually was. I have never heard of C.Ellen Watts before but her book was so honest and truthful I found myself agreeing with a few things and even chuckling a few times. The things she writes though directed for the 60+ crowd are things we can all take to heart.
