A general description of dog breeds that some like it was cribbed from the American Kennel Club with modifications. On several breeds, the author's physical descriptions vary from the breed standards of the AKC. Originally published in 1995, it needs to be updated and refines. Over the years I've had dogs of sevral different breeds and the infomation presented didn't describe most of my dogs.

I think I've read this book 4 or 5 times, and I still flip through it and consult it every once in a while. I liked it.
