My favourite characters loved this world so much so sad it’s over.

I loved this second part. The moment I started to think it was too far fetched, Vivian Baines told where she got her ideas from and it was like I heard what you hear every day on the internet around you and suddenly I remembered again what was so great about this series. It's a warning what might happen if we stop seeing the other (and it doesn't matter if that other is different because of skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation or ability) as less than we are and that is a message we ...more

Having loved the first book, I’d built up quite an expectation for this book. However, not only did it live up to it, it smashed it and more.
So damn good.

This was an excellent read. After reading the first book a few months ago I knew I needed to pick up the sequel. The plot for this book is really interesting. It is set in a futuristic world where the people are split up into two groups the Pures and the Dregs. The Pures are the superior group and treat the Dregs badly. There is a circus where the Dregs perform deadly acts for the amusement of the Pures. This book picks up where the last one left off with our main characters being on the room af ...more

I absolutely loved the first book and that set the bar pretty high for this one. It exceeded all my expectations and it was EVEN BETTER than I expected it to be. I’m so grateful for Hayley and for this series and I’m really excited to know if the last chapter was a set-up for a third book.... I’m just not ready to let go of Ben and Hoshi just yet.

a very good ending to this series. it wasn't as good as the first book, which is why I couldn't give it five stars, but definitely still a great read and would highly recommend

Liked this one less than the previous one. Nothing really happened throughout the whole book, but then again the ending was very rushed

The stakes get even higher in this second (and final?) installment. All the characters grow and develop so much and I honestly had no idea how things were going to turn out! Kept me gripped and showed me a terrifying vision of what things could become when we start talking about 'them' and 'us'.

First reviewed on PRETTY LITTLE MEMOIRS as part of the blog tour.

We're right back into the action in Show Stealer that first engrossed us last year, back into the lives of Hoshiko and Ben. The story picks up a little after the end of the first, in alternating perspectives. They're on the run - since burning down Silvio's circus in Show Stopper - and even a year on, dodging the ruthless chase from Ben's mother and others trying to find them. With a reward on their heads, it's more dangerous t

This is a stunning follow-up to last year's debut hit Showstopper. It is an incredibly enjoyable read and had me engrossed from start to finish.

Each chapter alternates between the viewpoints of Ben and Hoshiko, with the story picking up from nearly a year on, after they escaped from the Cirque and evil ringmaster Silvio Sabatini. Still on the run and being hunted by Ben's mother and the police, there is a huge reward for their capture. This means that they are not even safe from the

Hoshiko, Ben, Greta and Jack have been on the run for a year.  Although they've left the Cirque behind, they are far from safe.  In fact, they are on the top of the most wanted list.  By the police and by Ben's mother, Vivianne Baines.

This book, told in alternating perspectives between Ben and Hoshiko, opens with the capture of the group and Ben sacrificing his freedom to give Hoshiko, Greta and Jack a chance to get away.  Ben is promptly returned to his mother, who, together with a

There were so many things I loved in this book!
I keep changing my mind if I like this one more or less than the first one,
but I think the first one is my favorite.
I still loved the setting.
I loved that we got a bit more info on why people are acting the way they act.
I loved the whole politic side of things and the circus (of course) and the kind of magical feeling to it, even though that wasn't such a strong feeling because of all the horrors.

In Show Stealer, we continue Hoshiko and Ben’s journey as they’re on the run after burning down Sabatini’s circus to the ground. Hoshiko and Ben are not safe, Ben’s highly influential (and evil) mother is determined to get her son back. The police are also searching for them. It’s such a fast-paced read as the runaways are finally caught up with. It’s super hard to review this book without spoiling the story. Just know that it’s so captivating and action-packed.

I love how the chapter

Having read and loved Show Stopper I couldn't wait to start reading this one.

Although I enjoyed the book I felt that it was missing some of the magic that the first book had had. There was far too much moaning from both Ben and Hoshiko about how much they loved each other and how they couldn't live apart - we get it, you're star crossed lovers, less soppy stuff and more about what's going on!

I also felt that there were some real strengths in there about the horrors in society, howev

I cannot stress how much I loved these books for the most part.
I picked up the first one, mainly because the front cover was gorgeous and it was set in a circus. Me like.
Then when I started reading it I completely fell for the story. Not so much the romance between the two main characters but the universe the relationships between the other characters, the insightful observations on modern society, all right on point. This very much fed into my love of politics and of a just aand fai

Showstopper was one of my favourite books of 2017. As soon as Show Stealer came through the door I was desperate to pick it up and find out what happens next. Picking up just after Showstopper ends, this instalment had me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down. Hayley Barker’s beautiful writing draws you in deeper and deeper until you completely immerse yourself in the action of this story.

So I am still reeling from this book! I thought that the first book was amazing but this is spectacular!

I loved how the story had progressed a year on and yet I don’t feel like we missed anything of this story. This was a highly enjoyable read as we flipped effortlessly between Hoshiko and Ben’s point of views.

They may have escaped the circus but the circus is not ready to let go Now there aids more more at stake than the circus. And with deadlier attractions Hoshiko and

I wish I liked it more than this, but simply I didn't , I almost got a reading slump cos of it, the idea was good, I kind of liked the chr. in the first book, and cared for them a little , in squeal though they were utterly annoying, the way they think the same thing over and over again, the paraphrasing of the same thoughts was irritating, the too many pages and nothing happening, the supposed to be "villain, (view spoiler) ...more

This stunning sequel to the Show Stopper book manages to be even more daring, even more captivating, even more enchanting than the first. I didn't think it was possible but Show Stealer lives up to and exceeds the first book by far! I had low expectations as I thought Ben and Hoshiko's story was over by the end of the first book and didn't expect the author to be able to revive the story, but it came back stronger! And even though the story seems to have the same basis as the first, somehow it f ...more

The action continues in this phenomenal follow-up to last year's sensation Show Stopper! If you thought that nothing worse could happen to the Dregs then think again as the stakes are higher and the games more torturous! I fell even more in love with the characters we already knew and found a new love for characters we were introduced to! Each time a new circus act or game was revealed had me shocked that they could get any worse and the end had me sobbing but I wouldn't change any of it as it a ...more

this is a great book and I found it a good book to learn more about discrimination as I'm still in school.I found the epilogue was written very well for both Hoshiko and Ben's perspectives although I found that Silvio's perspective wasn't needed at the end.

I gaurentee that you will love this book and I give it 5 stars.

I have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS about this book. More feelings than thoughts.

This book manages to encapsulate the absolute brilliance of book 1, but is more despicable, horrifying, compassionate and honest all at the same time. I just can’t get the words right now.

Shout out to Roger 💛

Ending is a bit rushed... The author put quite a bit into the development of her characters and plot building, only to drop it all into some summaries at the end, before the efforts really came to fruition.

Some overly dramatic characters but otherwise an entertaining story. I thought this was the last book but it's not .. I don't know if I'd read the next one. Don't see much prospect.
