Avery has a good life. He loves his job as a makeup artist, and he’s ecstatic about being Twink of Honor in his best friend’s wedding. He’s more than capable of supporting himself, but that doesn’t stop him from longing for an older man who’ll take care of him.
Graham Hillingdon has finally repaired his relationship with his son, and he’s thrilled to be part of his son’s wedding day, though he wishes he had a plus one to bring with him. Sadly, he has yet to find a man who appreciates both his dominant and nurturing sides; maybe even someone to call him Daddy.
When Avery and Graham meet at the wedding, attraction sizzles between them, and they end up spending an insanely hot night together. Graham makes sure Avery knows exactly who’s in charge in bed, but afterwards, he’s exquisitely gentle. This is just what Avery needs, and Graham is certain he’s finally found a man who desires what he has to give. Neither of them wants to part the next day, but between their age difference and their reluctance to reveal their relationship to Graham’s son, they wonder if they have any chance for a future together. But as perfect as they are for each other, shouldn’t it be worth the risk?

OMG! Thank you Silvia Violet from rescuing me from my current book slump. 🙏 I don’t know what is wrong with me this year but by the end of June, I’ve sunk into a terrible book slump for 3 times already. 😭 I was really struggling with a book by one of my favorite authors and I really needed a good pick-me-up book. And I pre-ordered this book a while ago and when this one finally made it to my Kindle, I knew this was just what I needed. 😉 An over 100 pages novella about a dominant Daddy and a sassy-mouthed boy sub? Sign me up and give me the front row! 😂 And now, I’m kicking myself for not reading/listening her ”Thorne and Dash” series sooner. I owned the whole series both in books and audios and I haven’t dived into them. 😬 I have heard that Silvia Violet is the queen of May-December romance and I owned several of her books but it’s really a surprise that I have never read any of her books. 😁 Well, blame it on too little time and too many books. That being said, I looooooove this book. 😍 What a filthy, kinky, sexy little read! 🔥 I loved every second reading this book and I devoured it in two hours! Ok, ok, I know that I’m blabbering again … Well now, onto reviewing. 😉
Avery is enjoying his life and already knows what he wants at the age of 25. A successful makeup artist who loves wearing make-up, sexy, fun and have many great friends, Avery seems to be leading a very fulfilling life. In reality, he’s been hiding his deep need for submission even from his best friend. He doesn’t like being in charge and all he wants is to belong to a Daddy who will take care of him and his every need. 😌 But finding an older man who fits his needs isn’t that easy. Meanwhile, he is to be the twink of honor for the wedding of his best friend, Felicity. And he has no idea this wedding weekend is going to change his life completely. 😉
Graham, a divorced silver fox of 3 children and a real estate tycoon, and a slutty Dom. 😁 He came out of the closet a few years ago and divorced his former wife and was estranged from his children because of it. Since then, he’d been sleeping with any man he fancies to make up for all those unsatisfying years. But these days, he’s getting tired of not remembering the man he slept with the next day. Sleeping around with attractive men has its charms but lately, he found himself craving for a partner and a chance at love. 😌 Meanwhile, his eldest son is getting married and he got invited to the wedding. It’s utmost important that he’s on his best behavior at his son’s wedding so that they can have a more understanding relationship. And then, he met Avery. 😉
When Avery laid his eyes on the sexiest silver fox he’s ever seen, he knew that instant he had found his dream man. 😌 Finally, someone to belong to and someone who’d take care of his every need. And because he’s such a bold and flirtatious twink, he approached this yummy silver fox and began flirting with him. And things were going extremely well between them until he found out the man he’s flirting with is the future father-in-law of his best friend. 😁 Avery knew he wants this man and he wants him bad. But will it be worth to risk lifelong friendship with his best friend and the tenuous relationship between Graham and his son to get what they want? May be, it’s worth to risk everything for both of them for a chance at true love after all. 😌
It was quite insta between Avery and Graham but boy boy, I loved every second reading about these two. 😁 Since this is sort of a prequel for the upcoming series about these two and only about 100 pages long, everything seems a bit rushed but the chemistry between these two was just sizzling. 🌋🔥 There was a minor misunderstanding because Avery is such a short-tempered diva but they worked the issue out pretty quick. And my! Daddy kink with mild bondage and light spanking, and a sassy-mouthed twink who’s a bit of a pain slut who also has a humiliation kink? 😱 Shin likey!!! 😂👏 Finally, my wet dreams have found a baby made in heaven just for me! 😜 It was so so soooooooo hot! 🔥 And I love the balance between complete dominance and tender, loving care Graham provided for Avery after every love making. 😌 For now, I really can’t wait to read more of these two men’s journey for love. I need me more of Avery and Graham! 😍 Now, I’m off to Facebook to stalk Silvia Violet. 😁
Favorite excerpts from the novella: 💗💜💗
An arrogant, dominant, older man. Oh hell, yeah, he was everything I wanted.
“I’ll ask you one more time, boy. What do you want?” He chewed his lip again, and I wondered how he still had any lipstick on. “I want you.”
“I love the noises you make, boy. Don’t you dare hold any of them back.” “Please.” I wasn’t sure of what I was asking for anymore. “You’re just as delicious as I thought you’d be.”
But despite the way Avery felt against me, under me, there was so much more here than just sex. We’d connected in a way I hadn’t with other partners. I wanted this part, the caretaking, as much as I’d wanted to fuck him.
“I felt humiliated, like those people walking by knew what you were doing to me, and fuck me, I loved it.”
“So beautiful,” he said. He must have bent down, because I could feel his warm breath on my ear. “My beautiful boy.”
“You’ve been a bad boy, and you need Daddy to help you be better?” He nodded. “Yes, Daddy. I’m sorry. Are you going to spank me?”
Silvia Violet gets kinkier and kinkier lately. I loved the author’s Lace Covered Compromise so I was pretty eager to read some daddy/boy kinkiness from her s well.
As far as the kink is concerned it was very well done. But sadly the rest of the story just didn’t work for me. My reasons:
-Insta-love, and not the believable kind. I did appreciate the instant lust and the way a daddy recognized his potential boy. Their first meeting, however, followed by their first hookup was too much too soon, or just...weird. -Avery was this super funny, sassy twink in the beginning of the book. I thought I was going to have tons of fun with his character. Where did this all go? He turned into a stammering, fumbling teenager after meeting Graham, and ended up being a drama queen in the end. I'm sure that being daddy's boy doesn't mean exactly that, right? -The angst in the end was completely fabricated and unbelievable to me, to the point of ridiculousness. -Too much sex. Yep. The book is too short for all these feelings to develop as it is. Add all these super lengthy sex scenes, and there's nothing left. I'd love to see the characters bond a little bit instead of going at it all the time.
I believe that the story would have benefited from a a couple more chapters. So far I'm the odd man out, so don't take my word for it. It just didn't work for me. Sorry:(
There's a lot of really good kink in this book. It's short but spicy and sweet and I mostly enjoyed it.
However, there's a couple of tiny niggles, the first being that, at times, it felt like this was an offshoot of another book, which I don't believe it is. But the way things were phrased I felt like I was supposed to "know" more about this setting and these characters than I did.
The second is that the dramady which sets up the moment of conflict was - for me - just a completely ridiculous thing to get into a snot about and was resolved so quickly I just didn't have time to feel the angst!
It's insta love, but it actually works brilliantly within the narrative and get BDSM light spanking and the Daddy/boy elements of this book are superbly done and very sexy.
I liked Avery and Graham and I'd love to read more about them as they explore their relationship.
#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.
Those who read my reviews know that I’m very allergic to what I call unnecessary and fabricated angst. It is a known trope in lots of books. A sudden fight and/or break-up so that the couple can get back together at the end. I don’t mean real angst where a couple fights with good reason, but the angst simply put in to create a break-up or add some (more) drama.
Well, this book had the most unrealistically fabricated angst ever. I still can’t get over the subject these guys were fighting about. It was OTT ridiculous and made it lose a star in my rating.
Avery is Felicity’s ‘Twink of Honor’. He is a flamboyant twink who’s not afraid to express his true self with clothes and make up. When Avery meets the groom’s father he melts into a puddle of goo on the spot. Graham is everything Avery’s kinky mind looks for in a Daddy.
Graham is immediately smitten with the pretty man he meets at his son’s wedding. He knows he has to have him, so he lures Avery in with a promise of a one night stand, while plotting how to keep Avery forever. Luckily Avery doesn’t want to let Graham go either…
These men were pretty sweet together. Avery was cute and Graham wonderfully dominant in the bedroom. These guys love to play daddy/boy games, but they didn't want full on age play. I seem to have developed a love for all daddy kink, so this was just fine by me.
But just when I thought things were going really well, we got to the fabricated angst part.
Talk about fabricated angst…..
I was sad it included this because I really did like Avery and Graham together. So yes, this could have been better.

An ARC of Father of the Groom was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
***** I love the older/younger story of Graham and Avery. This story has wonderful anticipation and hot sex scenes. * Femme, Avery, 25, with close cut hair slicked back, hazel eyes, had dropped out of college to become a Stylist and Make-up artist. He wears guliner and lipstick, and is the bride's "twink of honor." * Silver fox, Graham, 45, is the groom's dad who is gay. When he came out and divorced, she kept him from the kids for awhile, but he's there to support his son, Carter. Carter and Felicity are being married in a big event. Their family and friends have interesting dynamics.
While checking out the ballroom before the wedding, Avery looks up to find the sexiest silver fox he's ever seem and heads straight for him. After flirting with each other, Avery finds out who he is, but seeks him out in the garden later, and they make plans to rendevous.
* We see well done BDSM, spanking, rope, talk of fisting, and Daddy/boy play, plus fantastic aftercare. Graham is a seasoned Dom, and Avery a willing submissive.
Holy Hotness ! Our men are scorching hot in their sexy scenes and one night will not be enough.
Raw. Powerful. Sweet. Exciting.
I loved each guy, but together they are explosive. Marvelous characters throughout, teasing, talks, heartfelt tenderness and deep passion. Graham makes a slip up, but resolve is near. I look forward to what happens next, in "After The Weekend." ENJOY !
Uninspired storytelling interspersed with daddy kink, too much cheese, overbearing bffs [the tropey kind you can rely on finding at the elbow of a gay main character], a manufactured conflict and not enough exploration of a daddy/boy relationship. Too damn short- almost as though it was meant to be an appetiser to a sequel. Or more cynically, just a way to make more money a la Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I THEN Part II.
Ya'll know I lurrrrve me some Daddy-kink. Combined with an actual age-gap and a silver fox...I should have been in heaven. Yeah, not so much. I couldn't figure out what frustrated me about this one...and then I read Susan's Review and realized the heavy dose of stupid drama near the end was totally at fault.
Still, I almost always like SV's books and I'll probably read the next one since it's a continuation of this tale. (Although, Shin doesn't seem too enamored of it, which concerns me...)
This book was mostly ridiculous. I didn't feel much chemistry between Graham and Avery, only a few of the sex scenes were hot and entertaining - hence the 1.5 stars instead of one - and it all happens super fast that it felt ridiculous.
If you have them falling in love after, what, a day, two days? Then make their interactions a lot more than sex - which, they mainly were. It was confusing as to how they were falling for each other when they barely talked outside of sex.
Plus, the Daddy!kink wasn't utilized well, imo. I wish authors would go further with it and have it not just have them saying "Yes, Daddy" and "Good boy" and the Daddy being dominant and the boy submissive. That's just boring because honestly you could take out the Daddy/boy thing and just have a D/s-lite relationship and not really miss anything. Go all in, man, is what I'm saying. (And having a spanking is not going all in, sorry.)
The "drama" at the end was put in for...what? It was over in 5 seconds basically, so what was the point of it? It was ridiculous too. Graham lies about his son and daughter-in-law, Avery's best friend, knowing about them, and Avery acts betrayed and of course he runs off without actually listening to anything anyone has to say. It was ridiculous. They'd known each other for all of a day and a half. Sorry to say but trust is built over time, not one fucking day lmao.
This book was mostly just ridiculous, with some hot sex here and there. This didn't work for me at all. Thumbs down from me.
Father of the Groom is a fun and sexy daddy kink story. The chemistry between these guys are great and they are all kinds of sexy together. The kink is fairly mild here as the Daddy/boy dynamic is pretty much reserved for the bedroom. There is some spanking and teasing and dominance, but this isn’t very hard core so it would be a good choice for someone who wants to try out a daddy kink book. The story is mostly focused on Avery and Graham and their hot weekend together, but we do meet Carter and Felicity and they are likable side characters. While their reaction to the whole thing is a source of potential conflict, the focus is really on Avery and Graham working things out between them, rather than keeping a huge secret, which I appreciated.
Loved this! Avery and Graham were just ridiculously hot together. Yes, things moved quickly - just over the span of a a weekend the two were on their way to love, but it just kinda worked for the two of them.
My only - slight - complaint, is that their conflict and what caused the bit of angst in the story, was just unnecessary to me. I could have done with just a whole story of them exploring their kinks together and falling crazy in love.
This ends at a good place, but I'm SO happy to know that there is more with these two to come! If you're looking for some daddy kink, age gap, sexy novella then I recommend this! It doesn't end on a cliffhanger for those who hate to wait in between stories.
Insta-kink and insta-love with flat characters, trite dialogue, and baseless drama made me wish for it all to end as soon as possible.
I knew going in that it wasn’t going to be great, but I expected better than this. I felt nothing but boredom as I read over lines that made my dizzy with ceaseless eye-rolling.
I went into this one blind. It was on my kindle and I remembered it was an age gap story, which I love, but I didn't realize it was a novella, or that it was BDSM, or that it was the start of a series.
I really enjoyed it and I will continue the series. It whet my appetite for some BDSM. Its been awhile since I read one. This was some quick, sweet, hot smut.
If daddy kink makes you swoon and purr, Father of the Groom is your catnip. I love me some daddy kink done right and by that I mean I want more than just some gratuitous PWP. Not that gratuitous PWP doesn’t have its place, it does, but then it can’t really be a thing for more than 30 pages or so. After that you’re probably just being ridiculous.
Father of the Groom has both P . . . AND . . . P. So, it wins! It’s plenty filthy, which is what you should expect from a Silvia Violet book about a twink and a daddy, May/December story. But, there is character development and motivation behind the kink that makes the story interesting and made me feel invested in a future for Avery and Graham. Seriously, how great are the names Avery and Graham for these two? One guess as to which dude is which.
Avery is the “twink of honor” at his BFF’s wedding. He’s also an amazing cosmetologist and makes the bridal party almost as pretty as he is. Graham is the father of the groom who’s coming out caused a huge rift in the family, but he’s worked hard to repair the relationship he has with his kids and it’s actually quite sweet to be in his head when he thinks about them. He’s incredibly respectful of their feelings and that said a lot about Graham as a person. The author is consistently good at giving characters added depth through their relationships with secondary characters. I’m being shown who they are, not told and when you have a book full of kink it helps to have that added to dimension so you can take the MC’s seriously outside of the sex.
The two are attracted to one another from the moment they lay hungry eyes on each other and they figured out they both hit the jackpot with their kinks within the first few sentences of dialog between them. The whole, I’m-at-my-son/BFF’s-wedding-and-I-shouldn’t-be-thinking-so-much-about-my/his-dick/ass-right-now-but-I’m-still-going-to-bone-the-night-away thoughts happened, but that was cool, because these are grown ass men having a good time, but their concern made sense for them and their relationships with the bride and groom.
What I appreciated most was the communication between Avery and Graham. As I mentioned, they hit hard on each others sexual needs, but they also communicated beyond that. Meaning, they both were on the same page when it came to how far the daddy play goes in real life. Sometimes the kink can overwhelm the story and the MC’s are too one dimensional to take seriously beyond the aforementioned 30 pages, but Avery is adamant about being self reliant and Graham recognizes and respects that. When Avery says he wants someone to take care of him he doesn’t mean it in a Sugar Daddy sense. He wants someone he is going to take over and he can trust them enough to completely let himself go in the bedroom. Graham needs to dominate and care for a lover, so they complimented each other completely. They even spoke of not having to “play” every time they had sex. It made the whole scenario way more believable in the vanilla light of day.
Just because Avery is self sufficient doesn’t mean can’t be a big old drama queen when things go slightly askew. It fit his personality and his need to be able to trust completely and let go. The dust up was really not that big of a deal, but for Avery, trust is the whole deal and again, drama queen, so a snit was had. A snit was needed to keep the story grounded and shake off some of the perfection that had been going on so far. The drama was short lived, which I liked, and Avery and Graham had a serious chat before Avery hopped back on the daddy dick, proving that he is pretty good at the adulting thing after all.
The story ends on a very optimistic HFN with more to come in the series (of which I will be partaking of every story). I came for the kink but stayed for the characters and I feel pretty invested in their happiness now. Their dynamic is fun and will be worthy of a reread or two at least.
**a copy of this story was provided for an honest review**
3.5 I completely agree with Cadiva's review. It's short and spicy and I liked the characters but it's definately much more about showing daddy kink with insta-love than caring about detailed characters. This story makes a straight forward line to its HFN without any detour and only stops on its way quite often for some daddy-boy play.
I can’t believe this is the same author who wrote “Professional Distance.” That book was so hot and this book was so....awful.
I was hoping for something light because I’ve been reading some very dark and heavy books recently. This sounded cute and I thought it would fit the bill. A hot Dom Daddy and a cute femme boy seemed like the recipe for a good story. This was just not my thing. I thought if he called Graham Daddy one more time I was going to puke.
The plot was almost nonexistent and although I’m usually fine with instant love this just didn’t ring true. I was planning to read this whole series. Thank goodness I didn’t buy anymore. I’m done.
Fluffy Daddy / boy scenario. It was pretty quick the way things fell into place... an easy read but one I didn’t get fully invested into. I felt like we got surface layer personalities .. so much potential for depth. I’ll try book 2 and see where this goes.
This was a short quick to a new series for me. Graham Hillingdon has finally repaired his relationship with his son Carter and he’s thrilled to be part of his wedding though he wishes he had a plus one to bring with him. Avery is a makeup artist who is the bestfriend of the bride he has a good life. When these two hook-up it is hot they both have a daddy- kink going on. Graham is a hot sexy alpha daddy and Avery is a twink who likes to wear make-up. Neither one of them what's the bride and groom to find out that they hook-up but when Graham has lunch with them the bride figures it out she knows what Avery likes. When Avery and Graham see the bride and Groom Avery realizes that they know and he gets mad and runs off. I have read this author before and she writes some sweet quick love stories with some kink thrown in there. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book. After the weekend.
Okay I'm confused about how this was both incredibly sweet and criminally horny. I wish it were longer.
I'm glad there were no love declarations because...I mean, it's one weekend. Nobody would buy that.
Also glad there's no wringing of hands about 'forbidden anything' because that man is JUST your best friend's husband's daddy and now ALSO your daddy. Nothing forbidden about that.
I DID feel like the conflict was a little too contrived, who tf gets mad that things went a little TOO easily, but hey, every story needs some sort of issue to resolve so I will not nitpick.
First book (novella?) by this author. Definitely open to reading more. Preferably a little less horny.
ALSO what kind of single person attends their son's wedding with a suitcase full of sex toys? 💀
You people are really grabbing life by the horns, huh. Boy scout behavior. Rah!
HOT! this was everything I love about daddy kink-sweet, unbelievably sexy, absolutely perfect. Can't wait to see what's next for Graham and Avery! Daddy kink for the win!
Insta love, heavy on the daddy kink. Or is that daddy kink, heavy on the insta love? Either way, I needed a cold shower after some of these scenes. lol.
The insta-love was... bearable. I usually have NO tolerance whatsoever for love at first sight in books and movies. BUT I do have first hand knowledge of how hard it is to find someone who is as kinky as you, in the same ways AND single. So, naturally, the insta chemistry was easier for me to believe as opposed to 2 vanilla people bonding over mundane commonalities and professing their undying love 2.5 seconds after they meet.
Plus the secondary characters were kick ass and not just token plot progressors.
If you need a quick Daddy Dom kink fix, this would be a good book for it.
ATTENZIONE!
Come primo capitolo è adorabile.
I really should have listened to Susan. I’m not a fan of big miscommunication in romance. The one used in this book to cause drama was soooo OTT. It did not require the performance Avery put on. This book had me until the end. Avery and Graham’s interactions were enough. We didn’t need the contrived drama.

Book: Father of the Groom Read By: Ebook and Audio Author: Silvia Violet Narrator: Greg Boudreaux Genre: MM Romance Main Characters: Avery and Graham Recommend: Yes Spice: 🌶️️🌶️️🌶️️🌶️️🌶️️ Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
This was hot!!
“I’m glad you want to spend the day with me.” I wanted to spend forever with him. Ridiculous, maybe, but true. “I’m glad you agreed to stay.” I tugged him off the stool. “No more stalling. I want to see just how much control my boy has.” “Oh, fuck.”
I mean seriously hot.
“If we decided to see each other again, I was going to tell you after the honeymoon, but Avery was afraid you’d be angry.” “Angry? No… But it’s weird. I mean, you could be his dad.” “Or Avery could be your stepdad,” Felicity said, smiling like a satisfied fox.”
If you have a daddy kink this is for you!
“Doing what’s best for you means comforting you if you’re upset, not trying to keep you from hearing something upsetting.”
I was fanning myself though the whole book!

This was very well written and had a lot of kink, just like the other Silvia Violet books I’ve read. Graham is the father of the groom, and Avery is the bride’s best friend. They have an immediate attraction to each other, and they find themselves together at the end of the wedding. There is a lot of Daddy/boy play. I enjoyed the story, and it was super steamy, but I wish we got a little more than just the weekend of the wedding. There was instant attraction and talk about wanting to be together beyond just the wedding weekend, but we never got to see how they made their relationship work. This has (to me) an HFN ending. Also, despite both saying they wanted more than Daddy/boy dynamics and that they didn’t want to do it all the time, they pretty much were Daddy/boy through the whole book. I wish I had more to really believe they were more than just a temporary kink. Beyond that, though, the book was fun and hot!
