Mercy effect is about how conflict resolution starts with being the change you want to see in the other person.
"When you accept God’s forgiveness, the emphasis of your relationships shifts from how others treat you to how you treat others. The way you think about others will also change. This is the mercy effect in action."
Acknowledgement of our own pride and Christ's sacrifice leads to the humility needed to resolve conflicts. The book also talks about types of conflict, what makes a given conflict worse or better, as well as a discussion of levels of conflict attained as a disagreement devolves into bitterness and hatred. It's short, easy to read, biblically based, and concise.

I really appreciate Gary Petty's teaching approach. He makes Biblical information logical and rational, an element I find missing in many other religious teachers. He back his work up with facts and proof.
