Thrilling sci-fi novel

Noni lives on a futuristic dystopian planet. She is part of a militaristic caste which is dedicated to protecting the planet and keeping the peace. She passes the brutal gauntlet, which many young recruits don't survive. She is sent on her first assignment away from the training facility and gets her first glimpse at the real world. She arrives at her first assignment a wide eyed,  eager, young recruit. She fully believes in her mission and what she's been told. However

A standout in the YA field

“Enchained” by Janet McNulty is the first book in a planned trilogy which takes place in a dystopian world characterized by a militarized police state.  The main character, Noni, has been bred and trained her entire life for the purpose of being an Arbiter.  Noni’s life so far has been characterized by intense martial arts training and she has been steeped in violence for as long as she can remember.  This does not change once she passes her final test and is assigned

A new world to explore

Enchained by Janet McNulty, as described in the title, is book one of a soon to be trilogy. I gave this book a try as one who comes as a veteran of this genre. Though it has been a while since I've come back to this dystopia style novel, since I've been feeling a little burnt out by the cliches and tired political undertones (not so inconspicuous as the author usually thinks) that follow this genre.
