First, I want to preface this with the fact that both YA and fantasy are genres that I do not read much.

The chapters in the book switch from point of view from person to person. With Shauna we get a first-person present tense and all other POV’s are a close third-person present tense. This becomes a little jarring more than half way through when the story departs from Shauna and focuses on characters elsewhere in the story.

I enjoyed the story quite a bit. There were a number of typos, grammatical errors, etc. that were too distracting for my “grammar police” tendencies to get past, though. A solid narrative though.
