After ten years, Dan Slott’s final issue of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is here, and he isn’t pulling any punches. Joined by one of the best illustrators in the biz, Marcos Martin, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #801 is one of the most emotional, heartfelt tales not only in Dan’s run, but in all of Mighty Marveldom itself, and is one Marvel fans around the world won’t want to miss.

This was never going to a ground breaking story. It was more an ode to Spiderman. This rating is for all of Slotts work over the 10 years on spiderman. was some of the best reading Ive done in any medium. Will definitely miss it but looking forward to Spencers take on Spidey

Dan Slott's spider-man run has its highs and lows, but whenever he's paired with Marcos Martin on art, something special is always produced. And that's never been more true than for his last issue of ASM.

Like most Slott/Martin issues, it's simple but brilliant in its execution. It's a story about Spidey always being there, and how that has a greater effect on the people he saves and the lives of their loved ones.

Great way to end his run.

Dan Slott has been writing this comic for ten years! That's insane! My husband is going to cry if he ever stops writing Daredevil, lol. I don't think he will anytime soon, but you never know!

I am in no way caught up on this series, but Jacob asked me to read this once he was finished. It didn't conclude a story, or start a new one... It was more of a goodbye.

Slott does a wonderful job of showing why Spider-Man is important and what makes him a hero. He's out there saving the world every single

This is a good sendoff by Dan Slott who is moving on to Iron Man and Fantastic Four. It's nothing groundbreaking but it's an enjoyable read. I wish he would have flash back to Superior Spider-Man though instead of going all the way back to the early days of Spidey. Superior Spider-Man is one of the best Spider-Man runs ever and one of the best comic runs in general.

Looking forward to Nick Spencer's stint on Spider-Man now. I'm really excited for this new take.

I don’t normally review single issues but this issue can be read independently of the Amazing Spider-Man series. Dan Slott’s Spider-Man work has been mediocre at best since Superior Spider-Man. However, this individual issue is a brilliant, beautiful capstone to his lengthy run on the character.

I wasn’t quite sure where the story would go when I began reading, and about halfway through it dawned on me that this wasn’t a typical beat-em-up or clone-ridden installment. Instead, it reminds me of t

Dan Slott's fond farewell to his decade long run writing everyone's favorite web head.

This special one shot story opts to not focus on spider-man at all. Instead the reader follows Carl a work-a-day New York Office drone who on the worst night of his life is saved by a Spider-Man early on in his Superhero career.

The best thing about issue #801 is how it shows the butterfly effect of Spider-Man's kindness. Its a wonderful human story that speaks to the positiveness of the superhero as an archetyp

I’d be hard-pressed to think of a better exclamation point on a comics run than Dan Slott’s final issue writing for “The Amazing Spider-Man.” In this story, Spider-Man, playing almost a supporting role in his own book, rescues a couple of guys from a small-time thief - pretty standard webslinger stuff - and then goes about his business. What makes “The Amazing Spider-Man #801” so special is that it mostly focuses on and thus honors the innocent bystanders that are helped daily by Brooklyn’s frie ...more

Dan Slott’s farewell as writer of Spider-Man was both satisfying and emotional. You got to see Spidey as Dan must see him. It was moving. This is representative of the superhero I know Spidey to be and probably the reason he has resonated with me for 40 years. There were several things Dan did over the years that turned me off of Spidey, but the last 6 months of Slott’s run were magnificent and this was a phenomenal end.

I’m now looking forward to what Nick Spencer does with my guy from here.

Court, simplissime, mais d’une efficacité sans faille: pour être un héros, pas besoin de sauver le Monde, il suffit déjà d’aider une personne, et c’est un monde qui est sauvé. Une leçon de sobriété dans le monde du comics

This was a nice heartfelt one shot. Like a send off for Dan Slott. Might have even got a little misty eyed. Plus the words form Slott in the back of the book were touching.
