Daaamn. I'm so glad I finally spent more than 5 minutes reading single issue. That story is so interesting and I can't wait to read what is going to happen next! I liked Red's past, her actions. Also I deify Josh Hixson so looking at that art was like eating honey. ...more

Shanghai Red will not be a comic I choose to continue. I'm sure it will be loved by many, just not by me. I expected a lot of violence based on the description, so that wasn't what bothered me (though it was a little confusing and excessive).

I wish they had explained more of Red's history and what happened to her prior to the opening scene... which ended up having more action than words. The images didn't really add up either, so I was stuck trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Even

I had a little difficulty following who was who at times in this debut due to the art style, but I found the story pretty engaging. ...more

The historical aspect feels akin to Brian Wood’s recent Rebels books, which I also enjoyed. Very interested to see where this goes.

I found this a bit tedious to slog through, and the roughly-drawn art makes some details difficult to discern.

Dig the moody set, and while not startlingly original, the storyline is one I want to see more of.

Vengeance tale.

Author freebie. Suitable for adults. Good color artwork. A grim tale of a shanghaied crew rising against their owners. Bloody and historically accurate.
