The trouble with solving murders in a little town like Bald Eagle Falls is that everybody knows about it, and then they expect you to solve their case too. When Bella brings a new—or rather a cold—case to Erin, she protests that she is not a detective. But Bella really needs her; how could an old woman just have gone missing without anyone following up on it? How could they just accept Ezekiel’s assertion that his wife was fine and she was just off visiting. Eventually, that excuse must have worn out.
Meanwhile, a blast from Erin’s own past—a foster sister Erin would rather not see again—shows up, bringing with her another set of complications.

My fourth read from author P.D. Workman, although I own several of her books I’d never gotten around to reading one until I’d acquired Auntie Clem’s Bakery #3 I wanted to read the first two books in the series before reading it, I really don’t like to read books out of sequence. Now here I am reading Coup de Glace (#6) before books #4 & #5. Extremely well written, the characters well developed building on the first books in the series. This may be the best book in the series to date! I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make a reader get invested into the characters and thereby the book and now by the sixth book in the series you already know the characters and can appreciate the continued growth of the characters and the community. I really look forward to P.D. Workman’s next book. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Really loving this series. Nice job explaining gluten and allergy issues for people. Nice to have a bakery that specializes in that only. In this book she adds frozen treats for the hot weather too. Who knew!
Not only is Erin creating frozen treat, but she is helping Bella with a cold case this time. (Yes the author did the play on words, not me). This cold case is interesting since no one is around to help figure out what happen. None of my theories as I was reading came anywhere near being close to what happen. Love it when I cannot figure out the book till the end.
I also read this book in a day, being exhausted. Fast fun easy to read and most importantly really enjoyable!!!!
This is my honest and freely given review. I received an ARC book.
Received a Kindle copy as a GoodReads giveaway. I gave up, made it to Chapter 9 before throwing in the towel. I haven't read any of the previous books in the series. There were soooo many names in this one - current characters, allusions to people in earlier books (I assume), people named in a journal, etc. - and many of these folks have convoluted back stories. I couldn't keep them all straight, and the book just didn't grab my attention enough to make me want to persist through the rest. For people who have read the other books, this is probably a nice visit with familiar characters. I was just lost. With some series, you can jump into them at any point, but this doesn't seem to be one of them.
First I would like to state that I have received this book through the Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. What a fabulous book. When I received this book I began reading it at once. I really enjoy the authors writing style. From the first page I was completely taken in. At the start of this book you are pulled into this story and do not wish to put it down. This book was such a wonderful read. The authors writing style kept you interested from the first chapter to the very last. The author has such a wonderful way of telling a story. . I would recommend this book to anyone
Workman is the bomb when it comes to her "Antie Clem" books. 'Coup de Glace' is book 6. Erin's character gets more enhanced with every book. Her temporary characters add an extra depth the story. This one is her foster sister that has tracked her down and of course gets Erin into a very difficult situation. Erin is growing a better backbone and is starting to stand up for herself better and she is not so dependent on Vic. Vic takes a bit of a backstage in this one but her ever presence is still felt. This time it is a 20 year old cold case that gets solved all because of the foster sister causing trouble. The step sister does make an appearance just enough to stir the pot. Looking forward to # 7. If you want a good series this is the one to get. Cheers Lynn
Coup de Glace is another fun adventure in the Auntie Clem's Bakery series. In this installment, Erin Price's young employee, Bella Prost, shares her fear that the old family barn is haunted by her dead grandmother. When Erin finds references to Martha Prost's disappearance twenty years ago, she agrees to help Bella discover what happened. To keep things interesting, Erin's long lost foster sister, Regina Rawlins turns up in Bald Eagle Falls! As Erin and Terry deal with the cold case, Erin also buys a "cold case" freezer in order to offer cold menu items. I enjoyed this book. Workman's books seem to just flow as she allows us to get to know her characters a little bit more with each new story!
We're back with Erin and Vic along with Terry (officer handsome) and Willie. Bella has been working for Erin at the bakery for sometime now and one day asks Erin to solve her grandmother's disappearance. Erin is reluctant until she reads about the very same disappearance in her aunt's journal. About this time Erin's foster sister shows up claiming to be a medium and dressed like a gypsy. Reg tells Bella she can talk to the dead and convinced her to take her to the farm to talk to her grandmother's spirit. I received an advance copy of this book and chose to review it.
I received this Kindle ebook from Goodreads Giveaways.
This is the first book I have read from the author, so this review needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. I was quickly lost with all of the characters and back stories that have occurred in the previous books. This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order. The plot didn't hold my attention and I found myself ready to quit several times. I did read it through, but it was rough.
Erin has solved several murders and word gets around in a small town. So when her employee asks her to find out what really happened in the disappearance of her grandmother 30 yrs ago, she reluctantly agrees. Trouble is there are several people who warn her away, saying it's too late to go digging around in the past.
P.D.Workman pulls you into the world of of mystery with caracters so relatable that you don't even realise you've reached the end of the mystery until I'ts unfolding around you. I'ts a rare gift,so like so many others I'ts time for you to enjoy her talent storey telling. 🙄 Kat
Erin gets involved with trying to solve a 20 year old disappearance of Bella's grandmother. She swears she's a Baker, not a detective, but mysteries keep falling in her lap!
Small town, people believe what they want to. She was a baker, they think she can solve mysteries. A grandmother was murder, is barn haunted. her officer boyfriend, wouldn’t mind would he, she wouldn’t be in danger this time. Enjoyable to read this cozy mystery
Not your typical "cold case", this mystery novel captivated my interest and held it until the conclusion. It was a most satisfying read. I received this novel as part of the Goodreads Giveaway program.
I read the Reg Rawlins books first, and have been waiting the ENTIRE SERIES for her visit to her Erin that she talks about in her series. I was very interested to see Reg and Erin together. We also get to know Erin's employee Bella better.
Enjoyed this book. This series just gets you involved and enjoying the characters. Again, the ending is one that you wouldn’t have imagined. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I won this cozy little mystery through Goodreads on Kindle. Great little mystery. Solid writing. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Auntie Clem series.
