I enjoyed this one. The description of this book really appealed to me from the start so I thought it would be worth a try. I was really curious about how the ability to see when your relationship with someone would end would play out in a story, and I think that it worked pretty well. This was a really quick read, and I found it to be quite enjoyable.
When Quinn touches someone for the first time, she sees how that relationship will ...more
This is one of those books I enjoyed quite a lot. It is a relatively quick read (@4 hours). It kept me interested and turning the pages. The writing flowed well. The characters were likable (if maybe a little one dimensional). The plot was entertaining (although very predictable <-- I am chalking this up to the fact that there is a tiny cast of characters that made figuring the "mystery" out very easy. The romance was sweet. I am giving it a solid thumbs up as a pleasant way to spend an ...more
But, as soon as I started reading I was so glad because right off I knew I would love the main character, Quinn.
Quinn is a pretty quiet protagonist who shies away from close relationships with boys; all because every time she touches someone she sees how the end of their relationship will come about. Understandable, this makes Quinn less-than-eager to pursue a relationship when ...more
To Whatever End is a nice blend of whodunit, a touch of mysterious “power”, and YA. While it has some high school-level romance involved, it’s not a main thing. Overall, I will give this one a 3.5 - I thoroughly enjoyed it but it wasn’t p ...more
“Fate didn’t turn out the way I’d planned. But fate apparently doesn’t care about plans. It doesn’t care about anything. And maybe we’re all just one decision away from a totally different life.”
To Whatever End is YA fantasy novel according to Goodreads.
I feel like I should say that I wouldn’t classify this as fantasy. I think if people come in to this book with the expectation of a fantasy novel they will be very disappointed. Our main character has visions of the way her ...more

i think if this had focused more on quinns ‘curse’ and the magical realism aspect of the story, i would have loved this more. but the plot was diverted by a mystery/thriller component that i wasnt quite a fan of.
regardless, this is a quick, unique read that im sure some readers will enjoy.
“ I’ll never forget that smile, those eyes, Your beautiful everything. The way you said my name, The way you said anything. Beautiful girl, On top of the world, You’ve never been found. If it were up to me, you’d be crowned.”
This book follows Quinn who is trying to get a scholarship to her dream college with her photography, and Quinn has a secret all the women in her family are cursed with powers but none are the same ...more
Wow! What a journey!
I'd like to point out that I'd consider this book a YA Contemporary Romance with some mysterious twists thrown in as the plot is pretty focused on Quinn's relationship with a certain boy she meets. Yes, she does have visions, but I don't think that's enough to push this book into 'Fantasy' territory. Now, that being said, the plot is solid! It does get a tad predictable at times and the ending was what I was rooting for the whole book, BUT I ...more
Thanks to YA Bound Book Tours for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
To Whatever End was completely different than I expected, but I actually enjoyed it more because of it! It's categorized as fantasy on Goodreads, but I'd call it more of a thriller or mystery. While there are elements of magical realism, if you go into this book expecting a fantasy read you may be sorely disappointed. Magical realism books ...more
Quinn is cursed. Her mother was cursed as well as her grandmother. There were different degrees of the curse which led each young lady in the family to see different things. Quinn gets a vision of the last time she will ever see someone just by a touch. She can normally handle the visions without an issue until she meets Griffin, hi ...more
I couldn’t put down this book! I read it all in one sitting as it was suspenseful, touching, and romantic. I really liked the main character Quinn as she is dealing with a curse that she isn’t allowed to talk about—seeing how a relationship will end. When she touches a person, she knows what kind of heartbreak is going to ensue, but she couldn’t imagine that it was because the boy she wanted to date was going to die.
From the first ch ...more
Quinn is cursed — through a simple touch, she has the ability to see the last encounter she’ll have with someone. Normally they’re innocuous — someone walks out the door and that’s it. Or she sees her best friend, old and grey and obviously living a long life. When she meets Griffin, all that changes. Their ending is far from innocuous ...more

After reading the synopsis of To Whatever End, I was really intrigued and I wanted to know what this story was about. So I requested the ARC and I’m so happy I did! I enjoyed reading this book and I really liked the concept. I’ve never read a book by Lindsey Frydman before so I was extra excited to read this book. I love discovering new authors.

Quinn seems like you average teen girl however her family has long been plagued with a curse. For Quinn this means a vision with every first touch showing what will be the last time they see each other.
The pacing of this book was on point and I enjoyed watching the mystery unravel on each page. I did however guess the culprit before the mid way mark in the book which I feel mainly because th ...more
I loved the romance between Quinn and Griffin. Their banter and dates were so realistic! It felt like I knew them, and their relationship, even though it developed quickly, felt real. I enjoyed how they got to know each other better through their talks.
The mystical element of Quinn's curse was well fleshed out, though the idea of sacrifices seemed a bit drastic. I did en ...more

Quinn has a strange ability to see the end of her relationship with a person when she touches them. Most of the time, she brushes a stranger's arm and they will never see each other again. However, when Quinn meets an attractive musician at a museum, she sees him die--in her arms. He tells her he loves her before he bleeds out. Desperate to find a way to save this stranger, Quinn attempts to get close to him to prevent his death. Things ...more
Quinn has a unique gift to see how her relationship will end with every person she touches. When she meets Griffin and sees the end of their relationship. Griffin dies in her arms and professes that he loves her after being shot.
My biggest pet peeve about the beginning of this book is that every time Griffin begins telling Quinn about his past in Arizona she starts saying I wish you would tell me more about your pas ...more
Look Entangled, I’m really gonna need you to stop putting me in my feels with each and every book. This one made me swoon, then hurt and just continually repeated that cycle. Until the end and now my eyeballs hurt.
Following the life of Quinn, you see her get visions of the end of her time with people with just one touch. This concept is so wild and fresh to me, I just wished we got a little more t ...more
First of I found this a very creative idea and I haven’t heard of anything quite like this before. Quinn, the main character, is a lot different from other books I have read. She is actually into photography and I find that quite refreshing from I read books romance novels. I especially enjoyed that we knew ...more
Quinn has a gift, or curse as she sees it, that will show her the last time she will see everyone she touches. Most of the time, it's completely innocent until one day she sees someone dying in her arms.
This book was a real quick read for me and I was hard pressed to put it down. I was completely immersed in Quinn's life and relationships. The plot kept me on my toes. It was a nice mix of romance, a hint of magic, and ...more
As a writer myself, I related to Quinn's passion for photography and Griffin's passion for music. They meet at an art museum, which is such a perfect place for two artists to meet. They're attracted to each other from the start, but after Quinn touches him, her vision shows him dying in her arms. Her only choice is to stay away from Griffin while ...more
I've read a bizarre amount of incredible "teen with supernatural powers accidentally finds out other teen will die and tries to fix it with the power of love" stories this year which may contribute to why I wasn't blown away by To Whatever End, but despite its more original premise, I found this pretty average. The story and romance moves very quickly and I think To Whatever End really could have be ...more
