I saw this book for the first time in the window of a newspaper booth when I was a child. The picture on the cover and the name (in Romanian) touched me and I immediately fell in love with Fluff (or Pufi). I begged my grandmother to get it for me, but she couldn't afford it and told me to wait. I kept insisting, until she gave up and took me to the booth... and the book was gone! I suffered a lot, and I then begun to ask my dad for it, but he couldn't find it either. I would remember the cover from time to time, and search for it both in shops and online, but I could not find it for the life of me (I wanted a physical copy, in Romanian, just like it was the first time I saw it).
One day, I was with my boyfriend in a store, when I saw one of the books in the series, and I went to search for it once again. It was not there either. I told him about my past with this book and how badly I wanted it, and that was the end of the conversation... Until two days ago, when he was alone at another store and found it, and surprised me the next day with THE book!!! It was one of the best gifts I've ever received.
As for the book itself, it's extremely heartwarming and sad at the beginning (ESPECIALLY with the illustrations, which are amazing!!). It's a cute and touching short story about a kitten who is different from her siblings and just wants to feel as loved as they are, so she does anything to find the only person she felt she could really call "home". I think it is definitely worth a read. I mean, just look at how sad she looks on the cover! Do you not want to hear her story?
