A wonderful and much needed Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook. I am so thankful that Jane Bonacci wrote this wonderful cookbook for those of us who are Gluten Free. A cookbook loaded with Breakfast recipes, appetizers, Soups and Stews, Grains, Pasta, main dishes, seasonal dishes, desserts and even basic stocks. I think this is a great cookbook for those who are new to the pressure cooker because it talks about how to choose a pressure cooker, how they work, different aspects of the pressure cooker, pressure release methods and basic equipment versus special accessories. Some of my favorite recipes are Cheesy Poblano Frittata, Sweet Potato and Egg Caribbean Breakfast Burritos, Steamed Artichokes with spicy Garlic Aioli, Dreamy Creamy Tomato Soup, Creamy Mac and Cheese with crispy Bacon (yum), Classic Lasagna with meat sauce and Individual Key Lime Cheesecakes.
A thank you to NetGalley for my free e-copy of The Gluten Free Instant Pot Cookbook: Fast Fix Nourishing Recipes for All Kinds of Electric Pressure Cookers in return for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Harvard Common Press for a copy of The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook by Jane Bonacci and Sara De Leeuw. I found the introduction of this book to be the most helpful section. It talked about reasons to use (and reasons to not be afraid of) a pressure cooker, it explained how a pressure cooker works, it talked about parts of the pressure cooker, and basic equipment you can use with the pressure cooker. A pressure cooker can help you with speed of getting food ready, easy clean up – it is all one pot, and energy savings due to just one pot and less time.
The recipes are then broken up by type, with cute names such as Beguiling Breakfast, Plentiful Pasta, and Asian Favorites. Some of my favorite recipes were:
- Crustless Quiche Lorraine
- Hummus
- Dreamy Creamy Tomato Soup
- Black Bean Soup with Cilantro-Lime Cream
- Millet and Chicken Greek Salad
- Creamy Pesto Pasta
- Chicken Tetrazzini with Rotini
- Lentil Sloppy Joes
- Chicken Pot Pie Casserole
- Honey Garlic Chicken
- Spanish Rice
- Double Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake.
The last section is about basic stocks and gives you tips and recipes for beef, chicken, and vegetable stock.
This book is full of recommendations for brands the authors like both for ingredients and for accessories. Also there are helpful tips for where to find certain ingredients. However, this book does get repetitive and kept talking about making the meat “succulent” which I thought was an odd adjective. There was also not enough pictures. There were some pictures on the chapter intro page and occasionally another one, but nowhere near enough for my liking. Overall the recipes were okay, but nothing really new or too exciting and the lack of pictures really made me mark down my score of this book.

Containing fifty delicious sounding recipes, the Gluten-free Instant Pot Cookbook is both a flavor booster and a time saver for gluten-free cooks.
Beginning with a cheesy poblano frittata breakfast, savory creamy polenta and various soups like spicy butternut squash, this cookbook has a bit of everything. Who knew you could make lasagna in an instant pot? Or saffron risotto (with no more endless stirring)? The dessert chapter sounds particularly yummy filled with tasty treats like rice and bread pudding plus a to-die-for double chocolate fudge cheesecake. There are also easy bone broths for paleo fans.
Recipes are clearly labeled with other common allergens like dairy, egg, soy and nut. There are vegan and vegetarian recipes included too. The only issue I have is the total lack of pictures or nutritional information. The pictures can be found on the author’s Heritage Cook food blog so I’m not sure why they aren’t in the book.
The recipes are surprisingly innovative. For example, the Shrimp and Grits recipe uses the Pot’s saute function to cook the aromatics first. The sauce is then covered with a trivet and bowl to cook the grits. After a short time, the grits are removed and the shrimp is added to the sauce for heating. It is very innovative to cook everything in one instant pot making the Gluten-free Instant Pot Cookbook a perfect gift for a college student with an instant pot but little else to cook with in a dorm room.
The recipes are worth 5 stars. However, the complete lack of pictures and nutritional information brings my rating down to 4.
Thanks to Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book is so full of yummy sounding (and looking!) Instant Pot recipes and information about how to have a gluten-free kitchen! If you need such a book, because you love the Instant Pot and have gluten issues, I imagine this would be one of the go-to books for interesting recipes and helpful information. The authors start the book by looking at pressure cooking in general and the Instant Pot in particular. They talk about other tools needed and helpful ingredients. The next chapter is about having a gluten-free home and kitchen. They even give recipes for recommended flour substitution blends. The recipe sections are like those you typically see in cookbooks, from breakfasts to soups to sides to main dishes and desserts. Each recipe also mentions if it has other considerations, like if it is nut free or vegetarian. The authors give further hints and tips about gluten-free cooking within the recipes themselves. Some recipes are very creative in using the Instant Pot, like using it to make a cheesecake or a breakfast frittata. They even have some breads that are made in the Instant Pot. All in all, I found this to be a delightful cookbook with many creative and fun uses for the Instant Pot. many of the recipes sound good enough that they would even appeal to people who do not have gluten issues.

If you're new to gluten-free cooking and want to recreate some of your regular meals in the Instant Pot, this book might be helpful for you. I didn't learn anything new regarding Instant Pot techniques or tricks, but the recipes will appeal to readers who want comfort food made gluten-free. I appreciate that the author made a point to recommend specific gluten-free ingredients and brands, so new GF cooks will have an easier time creating these meals. The recipes are beginner-friendly. I liked the Rib-Stickin' Chili and Vegetable Lasagna, and Apple Cinnamon Raise Bread Pudding.
My focus is always on high-quality, healthy ingredients, and this isn't a book I'd recommend if you're looking for mostly healthy gluten-free options. Readers with other food allergies/intolerances will have to make adjustments because ingredients like dairy, corn, and nightshades play a prominent role. I also wish there had been a few lighter recipes offered.
Overall this is a good place to start if you're new to the Instant Pot and gluten-free cooking and don't have allergies/intolerances to other foods.

If you're struggling with ways to keep your food gluten free and you have a pressure cooker, then this is the book that you need to read. Although I don't have a pressure cooker, it really interests and scares me. The book itself is a super quick read without any pictures, and gives you all the information you could possibly need to begin.

this is a good collection of instant pot recipes.
I noted around 50 different kinds of recipes
what was refreshing is it wasn't just bizarre ingredients and potatoes.
it was tantalizing recipes like risottos and lasagnas!!!
I am not gluten free
I however like to make some health conscious meal choices on occasion.

Fascinating cookbook with a number of ideas that I never thought possible with a pressure cooker. Cheesecake who knew!! I can’t wait to start using this cooker for something other than vegetables for my Sunday roast in it.

The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook is a good addition to the library of any Instant Pot/Electric Pressure Cooker family. There are some great recipes in this book, and all are gluten-free. The authors have a very detailed introduction to Instant Pot cookers in general, helping to dispel the fears of the many cooks that have bought Instant Pots, but have never opened the box. The recipes are broken into logical sections: Beguiling Breakfasts, Appealing Appetizers, Spectacular Soups and Stews, etc. There are even sections for Desserts and Basic Stocks. The book ends with a very detailed index, which I think is vital in a good cookbook. Each recipe is fairly detailed and well written, and there are many helpful tips from the authors sprinkled throughout. What keeps this cookbook from being exceptional for me personally are two things: the lack of photos of ANY of the finished recipes--other than the cover, there are no photos in this book at all; and the lack of any nutritional information. I may be alone, but I am often inspired to cook based on pictures in cookbooks and although many of these recipes sound good, without any pictures, I don't have quite the same eagerness to try them that I might otherwise. I'm also someone who likes to see how my finished dish looks compared to the original to see if it looks "right", so the absence of photos affects me there, as well. As for nutrition, maybe it's just me, but I was surprised not to see nutritional information in this cookbook. These days, so many people are paying attention to nutritional content, and even restaurants are including in many states--it's included in many newer cookbooks, and it's noticeable when it's not included. Other than those two things, I thought this was a good, well written, well organized cookbook.

Having recently bought an electric pressure cooker, I was delighted to review this book.
There aren't any photos, which was a disappointment, but there are a good range of recipes to start off with a new pressure cooker. I particularly like the allergen strapline for each recipe, so this isn't just a useful book for coeliacs, but also for those with other allergies looking for inspiration. Or multi-allergy households.
There are some lovely recipes in here and I can't wait to try them out.

A fabulous cook book that I simply cannot wait to try all the tasty recipes from. Gluten is something that I really struggle with. It makes me feel sick and blotted and I really try to eat as little of it as possible. So for me this book is going to be one I go back to many many times.

If you have an Instant Pot and are on a Gluten-Free diet, this book is a must have.
To start with there is a great Introduction with lots of information about equipment, tips and ingredients.
The recipes are easy to follow starting from Breakfast, Appetizers, Mains, Sides, Desserts through to Stocks and Grains.
Delicious recipes for everyone, even if you don't follow a Gluten-Free diet, only thing missing are some colourful pics, just because I love to look at the end product.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Harvard Common Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.
