Series: Capturing the Carlisles #4
Publication Date: 9/11/18

I could hardly read the pages fast enough in this pulse-pounding, heart thrilling, oh so romantic story. It is intelligently written, excellently plotted and the characters are – well – just perfect! I love a strong female lead, but so often, an author tries to make her strong by making her stubborn, overbearing and foolhardy – that is definitely NOT the case here. The heroine in this book is lovely, feminine, intelligent and strong in a

How the Earl Entices by Anna Harrington is book Four in Capturing the Carlisles series. This is the story of Grace Alden and Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding. I have read the previous books (and Loved them!) but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so....but they were so great you might not want to miss them.
This was such a page turner right from the start along with some funny scene too. Ross has been taken and is being beaten and cut to attempt to get him to talk and give

This is book 4 in Carlisle series and this time we are meeting Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding who is the cousin of Sebastian, Quinton and Robert. So if you have read the previous books you know who these are.

Just when you thought Ms Harrington's books couldn't get any better, she goes and writes this fantastic book. This book had it all, drama, intrigue, sacrifice and above all romance. From the first to the last page, I was drawn into the book, and I had couple of late nights because I just co

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I fell in love with the Carlisle family during book one so I was looking forward to getting my hands on this newest installment and I was not disappointed. This time we follow Ross as he flees France to return to England only to find himself injured in the water. He washes up on shore making his way to a cottage where he runs across Grace who he should know but doesn't. Both of them have huge secrets so

If you've read any of the books in the Capturing the Carlisles series then you're sure to love How the Earl Entices.  If not, then this one "could" be read as a stand-alone novel for Ross is a cousin to the brothers - yet, this entire series is excellently written with compelling plots and believable, likable heroes and heroines that I believe you'll be hooked and want to go back to the beginning.  Having said that, I don't feel I can say much more about this particu

Let's cut to the chase. This book was AWESOME. Yes, all-in-caps AWESOME! Anna Harrington is most definitely on my auto-buy list. The story started with thrills and secrets, which lasted throughout the entire book. It was the exciting romance, though, that kept me enthralled.

I absolutely loved the chemistry between Ross and Grace. Grace has been added to my list of favorite heroines. She was such a strong woman, brave even when she was fearful. I loved her smartassedness and snarky humor. She wou

4 Stars!! This was a good book! It has a bit of mystery, some romance & a few secrets along the way! I really liked both main characters, Ross & “Grace”. They both had strong personalities, which is a must for me! Can’t stand weak female main characters! I haven’t read the previous books in this series but since this book is a standalone, I still understood everything! I hate books that have cliffhangers or are the second part of the story! It makes me feel so lost! Ha! If your into secr ...more

Ross Carlisle, Earl of Spalding, soldier and diplomat of the crown, spit out blood on the deck of the rolling fishing boat as two Frenchmen held his arms while their leader punched him. Just then, a huge wave tossed the men off balance and Ross dove forward and over the side into the darkness.

To be honest, this is not my favorite trope in Regency historical romances. The noble spy on the run who's saved by the strong woman he falls in love with as they careen through England. Ross Carlisle is an Earl who's been accused of treason. He escapes from a ship in a storm and ends up in the cottage of Grace Alden. Grace has her own secrets; she's trying to hide from her dead husband's brother who has taken her son Ethan's legacy and estates. Together they must prove Ross's innocence so he ca ...more

Ohhh, I loved this book! Grace with all her fire and her stubbornness, her loyalty and her courage was a wonderful heroine and Ross, well, he is simply amazing. The well-written story was fast-paced and kept me on my toes, I was swooning and grinning goofily and the next moment I was sitting straight, turning the pages faster and faster and fearing the worst ... Every installment of Anna Harrington’s Capturing the Carlisles has been a wonderful read. However there is a slightly different ton to How the Earl Entices. While the wonderful romantic elements we have come to expect are present, there is a fast paced mystery/thriller element. I could bit this book down. I had to know how all the clues and espionage played out. Grace Alden was a wonderful counterpart for Ross Carlisle, the Earl of Spalding.
