This was an excellent sequel! The story picked up after the cliffhanger of the first book and was full of action. Most of the lead characters are women who were portrayed as physically, mentally, and emotionally strong. The male characters were definitely secondary characters and were portrayed as weak, arrogant, and greedy. This was a nice change from how characters have been developed in the past. This picks up right where We Set the Dark on Fire left us and we get to see things from Carmen's point of view. FIrst, if you haven't read We Set the Dark on Fire - what are you waiting for?! This book was even better than WStDoF. Suspense, tension, romance, chaos, rebellion, strong women, revolution and much more - I loved this book!

The story itself has all the necessities of a great story, but I just wasn't in to it like I was for the first one, sadly.
