This book starts off with a Bang.....(I mean the H’s head get hit by h’s car)
Jackson was a serious, brooding "stuck up suit” ...before the Bang. But after the Bang he is all sweet, caring and attentive.
Lori is his executive assistant. She is the same person before and after the Bang. That is, horny af for her boss.

Jackson’s attraction to Lori started long before his amnesia. She didn't realize he liked her....nor did he gave any impression as such. Obviously how will she know when he is busy d

Eh... it was a cute story, but it was missing that WOW factor.

Lori decides to quit her job because she's in love with her boss who doesn't even know she exists. So let's start with this... she's so head over heels in love with him that she's willing to give up a career changing position as an EA to the CEO of a multi million dollar company with no future job lined up. Let's talk about how she thinks she's in love with a man that she knows nothing about outside of the office. She's told everyone

Lori has been the executive assistant to Jackson for years, watching him, loving him, but he has never noticed her. She is part of the wallpaper. She finally decides to quit. She doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life wanting something she can’t have. Problem is on the way out of the parking garage Jackson steps in front of her car and she hits him. When Jackson wakes up he has no idea who he is. His company is vulnerable to a take over and a CEO with amnesia could result in losing the compa ...more

These Harlequin'ish romances are like those candies that you can't stop eating when you first begins. Once in a while you just like to go on a binge and gorge yourself.

This is a romance that is delightfully low on angst. It might be a bit shallow in reality, but it's pretty charming nevertheless.

I have previously read “Right Billionaire, Wrong Wedding” also by Victoria Davies, and REALLY liked it. It was the perfectly executed boss/assistant romance!
This one followed the same theme - an

What an amazing read. I was hooked from the very beginning. Lori might have run over her boss aka the man she has been secretly in love with after quitting on him by accident but the man she gets to know after the accident is the man she falls in love with. Lori might have thought she was in love with Jackson but the new Jackson is so much more caring and understanding. Jackson might not remember anything about his life but one thing he is sure about is his feelings and attraction to Lori. Givin ...more

Cute story. It played out a little like an episode of General Hospital. Lori is in love with her boss. She decides she can't work for him anymore, so she quits. On her way out, she runs him over with her can and he hits his head and gets amnesia. Jackson was a jerk before the accident and now he is even more the man Lori wants to be with. Having amnesia makes Jackson a new and improved version of his billionaire self. Will everything change back to the way it was once he gets his memory b

I read the author's previous book 'Right Billionaire, Wrong Wedding' in one sitting overnight and had to request 'Giving Up The Boss' when I saw it on Netgalley in the hopes that lightning would strike twice - and indeed it did! I blame Victoria Davies for making me stay up two nights in a row to finish her books, but I can't complain, it was a wonderful way to spend a rainy gloomy weekend!

If you have read 'Right Billionaire, Wrong Wedding', you may feel a slight sense of deja vu with this new r

A massive thank you to the publisher and the author through NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

To be frank this book sounds promising at first. Lori was an Executive Assistant ready to quit her job because of her personal interest and her undying love for her multibillionaire boss, Jackson Sinclair. But she got one problem, Jackson had never shown any interest in h

Giving Up the Boss by Victoria Davies is a fast read that has a dash of naughty, a little spice and everything nice. I devoured this book hook, line and sinker. Each word, line and chapter reeling me in.

Lori Carlow is an Executive Assistant at Sinclair Enterprises. Or, she was, until she quit. On the day she gives her notice, she accidentally runs over her boss with her car.

Jackson Sinclair is a genius who controls the billion-

My Review:

I love amnesia stories so when I saw the description of this one, I snatched it up although I've never read this author before. I was not disappointed. This book was so freaking good. I loved this story!

Lori has been in love with her boss for years, but as his executive assistant, he never sees her. So, she's finally had enough...she has to quit for the sake of her heart. She finally works up her courage and does it, but she's so upset when she leaves the parking garage, she doesn't re

Ah. Your classic amnesiac boss plot line. And. I. Loved. It. This was a truly cute story (albeit perhaps not the most original of storyline’s) and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. As I was reading it, there were several moments where you could feel a physical pain when the characters were hurt - something that I find is the hallmark of effective writing.

These characters - Lori and Jackson - I really did like their relationship and watching it grow and change with the whole amnesia situ

This is a story of an executive assistant Lori Carlow who has worked very closely for a lot of years, a lot of hours, and so many days and holidays with her boss Jackson Sinclair.

The mastermind behind Sinclair Enterprises along with his brother Marc. When their father passed away Jackson being the oldest stepped into his father’s shoes never looking back. He is a no-nonsense kind of man with a different woman for every occasion.

Amusing premise, thin veneer of a story, still enjoyable

The idea of crushing on your billionaire boss, quitting, and then needing to nurse him back to functionality after an accident is a great premise for a romance. The story has a lovely HEA, and there is some fun dialog (but much of it is repetitious). This story is fun to read for a quick diversion. However, if the reader wants depth of character, this is not the right book. The barest details are provided to allow the story to skate along
This is an endearing office romance, one where it takes being hit by a car to bring the billionaire boss, Jackson Sinclair, to realise just how he feels about his executive assistant, Lori Carlow. Mind you, that car that hit him was being driven by that very same assistant as she was driving away after handing in her resignation - but he’s forgotten all of that! As you can imagine, when he loses his memory she feels she has to stay working for him to help cover up his amnesia and is encouraged t ...more

Giving Up The Boss by Victoria Davies is an entertaining novel. This is the third book I have read by Ms. Davies, and I will continue to seek out her new offerings. If you are looking for a standalone romance with a well-defined couple, a corporate setting, and sexy love scenes, then Giving Up The Boss is for you.

Executive Assistant Lori Carlow is in love with her boss, CEO and billionaire Jackson Sinclair. Lori is an excellent EA and she loves her job and the company. However, she bel

Giving Up the Boss begins just like the title suggests. Executive assistant Lori Carlow quits her job because she has crush on her boss, Jackson Sinclair, who won't even look her way. Starting over and forgetting all about Jackson is all Lori wants to do, until she hits Jackson with her car.

I felt for Lori. She knew Jackson couldn't remember what happened and what would happen when his memory came back and he realized he didn't give her the time of day. Could her heart really survive that?

This is a light and quick read about an executive assistant who is leaving her job because she's been in (unrequited) love with her billionaire tycoon boss. Of course, she accidentally hits him in the parking garage on the way out and he now has amnesia. Similar to the story, I had to overlook witnesses, cameras, police, car damage, ambulance reports, etc. Once Lori also stopped worrying about him finding out (which really didn't seem like a big deal given everyone's lack of reaction), I enjoyed ...more

This book was AH-MAZING!!! I can’t believe I let it sit on my tbr list for so long.

I’ve been in sort of a book slump. I always try to finish every book I start because, really that’s only fair to the authors who work so hard on these books. But not having a great book in awhile was wearing me down a bit. Sooooo not the case for this book. I was engulfed in it from the very beginning. You really start of knowing nothing about these 2 characters other than being through into one quitting her job

Giving Up The Boss has some mild cussing (no f-bombs) and it does have on-page sex. Use your own judgment if sex in a book will cause you to leave a bad review.

The premise for this story is utterly ridiculous, but the execution resulted in a surprisingly fun, easy read. I very much appreciated the way that, because of his amnesia, Jackson and Lori developed an actual relationship before falling in love, and the way that Lori took care of Jackson as his most vulnerable time. Jackson was also a gr

Where to begin....
Well, I read this book in one sitting. Yep, I had other things I should have been doing, but I could not put it down.
So freaking good!
Lori and Jackson had chemistry from the beginning, but it took an accident with Jackson forgetting his memory for him to act on his feelings for her. (I do have one question though - why did he have pictures of other women in his phone if he wasn't interested in them besides for the obvious??? And how did Lori know this? Yes, she had access to h

Office Romance kindled.
Lori has finally had enough of being the invisible efficient, capable and reliable executive assistant to cool and distant Jackson Sinclair. She’s been pining for him but he’s more into models and socialites. She quits then runs over her ex-boss with her car. He wakes up an amnesiac and has to re-invent himself with Lori’s help. He falls in love with her and that should have been the story.
But there’s Sinclair Enterprises to be run and deals to be brokered with a CEO who

I was a little worried going into reading this book. Unrequited love, amnesia, and he runs a billion dollar corporation? It seemed too much for one book.

I was pleasantly surprised, though, at how it all comes together as the story progresses. Business is a focal point of the plot, it really was the personal relationships I liked the best. Getting to know the characters through the dual POV worked well here. Even with Jackson having amnesia, it was nice to see things from his perspective.

This put a cute spin on falling in love with your boss. Lori has been Jackson's assistant for years until finally she realizes that he is never going to notice her and she quits. Upon leaving the building she accidentally hits him with her car and he has amnesia. At the same time his company is in the throes of a hostile stock takeover, and unless she helps his company could go under.
