Cocksure is the first in Shiloh Walker's new series, Cochrans of Cocker County, and introduces us to Luke Cochran, cocky playboy both on and off the big screen. His story is a diverse mix of tropes with friends-to-lovers, employer-employee, and fake-relationship all thrown into one book. And then there was an added surprise of some emotional storylines being brought in. All together in made for one very intriguing story.
Sabrina and Luke made a cute couple which only helped to keep the book so interesting and it had me eager to flip each page to see what would happen with them. The friends-to-lovers trope usually isn't my favorite but I do have a favorite part of these stories and it's when the characters finally realize that they're perfect together and that their relationship isn't fake. Well in this one I adored that scene and the way Luke handled it, which only solidified my love for them.
I do have to say, though, that the ending lost me a bit since I was expecting a lot more to be said or revealed about certain things but they ended up just kind of ending. It made the story feel a little incomplete for me when it came to those things, but the romance between Sabrina and Luke was certainly complete and had a great HEA. Definitely a book I would recommend.
Random P.S. It was a little weird to read my own name in a book for a heroine, especially when Luke had the nickname of "Ina" for Sabrina, which isn't a nickname I've ever heard before.

The first half of this book really followed the typical formulas of this type of romance. I was starting to worry a bit that there wouldn’t be enough originality to keep me on the hook. I was glad I waited to see where it went because the second half started to give me what I sought. Luke became more dynamic as the story unfolded: his past lending itself to emphasize a vulnerability that created growth and depth for him. Sabrina had a chance to take risk and move beyond her comfort zone. Together, these two really burn up a love scene.
The plot became more interesting as the couple got beyond the surface. There were some things I wasn’t a fan of, such as the reason Luke is in trouble with his agent to begin with, but I understand how it was used to create a starting point for development. I really liked how the conflict was resolved. Sabrina didn’t take things at face value and stood up for how she felt. Luke gave it his all and the combination made for a great wrap up.
All in all an enjoyable read. Even as the experience was incremental for me personally.

This was so much better than I expected it to be. I knew from the title and the recent trademark situation what this author was doing, but I really wasn’t sure what the story was going to be like. I couldn’t have been more thrilled at just how GOOD it was!
An incident in Luke’s life when he was young has haunted him throughout the years but with the help of his assistant, Sabrina, he has managed it to some small degree. When he is called home due to a family emergency he finds himself making an outlandish proclamation. What follows results in a truly romantic story as he finds himself falling in love with his best friend.
Sabrina has been in love with Luke for years but she’s not a pushover when it comes to him. And yet, when he needs her to stand by him after he makes a crazy statement to his mother, she never really hesitates. She’s living her dreams knowing in the end she’ll have to let them go. But for now, she’s allowing herself to be consumed by Luke and what they have…albeit temporarily.
I’ll admit there’s an issue with Luke at the very beginning that I was not a fan of. It’s also one of those things that makes it hard for me to like friends-to-lovers and boss-employee-to lovers tropes. However, I’m a relatively lenient reader so I chose to push that issue aside and just enjoy the rest of this story. As a result, I ended up really enjoying this couple as they work together, trust each other, and share their secrets. Their dynamic was perfection and is the stuff you know exists in real life.
This is a lengthier book than I thought it would be but I never once skimmed. It does not repeat itself nor does it get bogged down with a lot of self-introspection. The steam is absolutely scorching and the secondary characters’ main goal was to help the story along rather than steal the limelight or lay foundation for future books.
The angst is light up until the last portion when Luke and Sabrina have a major conflict and then it is elevated but not what I would call gut clinching. I especially enjoyed how hard Luke had to work to win his woman – romance readers who love groveling will appreciate this.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have an epilogue which I felt it needed and I desperately wanted. I may pout about that fact for a while because I wanted one so badly. Nevertheless, if you enjoy this trope I highly recommend this one.

A book inspired by a recent headline kerfuffle of some goofy author trying to trademark a word. So the result is the first book in an amusing, hot, first book in family series. Looks like it might be looking at some serious issues in a rather well well done way.

Conflicted.
I kind of hate Luke here b/c it's not just that he's arrogant (or cocky) he's also a user and takes advantage of everyone around him, while still thinking he's a "good guy." I mean, he recognizes he's an asshole but he still thinks he's a nice asshole if that makes sense.
And Sabrina just.. goes along with it (the scheme) b/c she lurves him so much and ugh. I definitely had the feels in the end though when it all explodes (of course) and I'm glad Sabrina was done with Luke's brand of fuckery. Luke did redeem himself in the end but I can't let go of my negative feelings I had for him in the beginning. And my exasperation at Sabrina's willingness to set herself on fire to keep Luke warm.

Starting off a sweet and sexy new series, Ms. Walker pulls her fans back into her world of loveable characters. There are two things I can always rely on when reading a Ms. Walker contemporary romance : angst and loveable characters. For those new to Ms. Walker, this is a great book to start reading.
Sabrina is the quintessential personal assistant extraordinaire. Where do I find one of her? I need one. Sabrina's been taking care of Luke's logistics both personal and professional for the past few years. She knows him inside out and yet there is some deep secret she knows he is hiding from her. That is okay because she has some past baggage she doesn't want to open up either. However with Luke, it is difficult to stay out of his business because of his super movie star status. When Luke's mother becomes gravely ill and Luke blurts out a little fib, Sabrina's world is turned upside down.
Sabrina is a strong character who possesses a heart of gold. She is easy to like and to see how Ms. Walker sets her up to be bullied is all too alarmingly realistic. This story may be about Luke as the first in the Cochrans, for me it was more about Sabrina and her growth. Yes, Luke's demons came to find him and fortunately he has family and friends to help him battle his vicious demons. Still, this story is about Sabrina's growth and finding love. This story is smooth, easy to read and moving. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. Ms. Walker is a spellbinding writer who lures readers into a world with all too realistic and she brings about a happily ever after. Is it easy? no. Is it filled with angst? Yes. This contemporary romance is recommended to all romance lovers, especially those who like bad boys.

I truly give this story a 5 out of 5. It was a light read towards the beginning with hints of more serious issues and I liked how it organically developed.
Sabrina is strong as hell! She is snarky, loving, and genuinely a warm but protective person. She sees beyond Luke's persona and is probably the only person that knows him, even though she works for him as his assistant. She has been in love with him for ever, but hides it just well enough that he has no clue.
Luke is a super successful actor when he gets a call from his sister saying that his mother is not doing too hot. He might not act like it, but family means everything to him. Deep down he is a super great guy- that just likes to stick his dick in any available hole. After getting some major backlash, he starts to settle down and then when his mom falls ill, he goes straight to her. He might be a great actor, but he is not the best in stressful situations and blurts out some random stuff, such as, "I am engaged to Sabrina."
Thus really starting this whirlwind, amazing, angst filled book. There are some crazy twists and turns that you are not prepared for, but make it even better.
Was it the lighthearted read that I adore? Yes, in a way.
Was it so much more than just that? Yes, so much so, YES!
Shiloh Walker does a great job in writing these books and I cannot wait to read the next stories!!

Definite cute read that I enjoyed. Luke and Sabrina have a proper nice relationship both in the workplace and out of it. Even though it’s cliche, the whole ‘fake dating/engagement’ trope never fails to amuse me, so personally I had a great time with this book LOL
One thing however bugged me: so apparently they’ve been working togeter for 5 whole years... and only just now they kiss for the first time? I think the time of how long they l’ve known each other should be shortened to a maximum of 1 year, because they have a great chemistry and I had a hard time believing the fact that they hadn’t touched each other in 5 long years!

Barely a three star. It had some promise but the behavior of the main character, Luke was appalling and Sabrina has doormat written on her as Luke treats her as a friend when she's so sweet in him. He's anything but interested in her. Ok, we find out he's got a big secret that may account for reckless behavior but he's still not going to be book boyfriend material. I got no warm connection to this character. The book then turns into (no offense) Hallmark movie for last 25%. Oh, I so wanted this to be better.

Cocksure is a great start to the Cochrans of Cocker series by Shiloh Walker. A well written, easy to read story with engaging characters and dynamic interaction and this is just book 1. If this is any indication of the rest of the series, I will definitely be first in line for the other books. Do yourself a favour and grab this for your collection.

Three and a half stars.
Who doesn't love a fake relationship with your boss romance? Sabrina has been Luke Cochran's assistant for four years and probably in love with him for all that time. Luke on the other hand, gorgeous millionaire actor that he is, doesn't have a clue. However, when his mother suffers a heart attack and tells him how much she worries about him he panics and tells her that he and Sabrina are secretly engaged.
But Luke is hiding a secret from the world, something that made him run from home at the age of eighteen and his trips back were non-existent until Sabrina pushed him to make the trip. Can a fake relationship turn real and can Luke tell the truth?
I liked the plot and the characters but I was put off by the incessant sex. Honestly, page after page after page, then there would be a snippet of plot and then page upon page of sex. I got bored and just flicked past it all wondering at times if there was any plot coming soon. Maybe I should have expected it given the title, I'm sure some people reading this are itching to go and buy the book - and good for them. It just didn't work for me.
However, I am really intrigued by Luke's large family, Devin in particular, and look forward to reading more in this series.

Highly recommended Happy Guy Gets The Girl Endings Lol or does he lol 😂
Sabrina has been with Luke since the early stages of his career — she is also the one who bridges the gap between Luke and his family — through the many layers of Luke Cochran he reveals an old as time secret that has shaped him into who he is today —
Sabrina has had her own family turmoil and Luke has been there with her throughout that stage of Sabrina’s adult life — they’re best friends — and at times people mention Luke’s family to Luke he will not tolerate it and reacts by lashing out verbally — to all with exception to Sabrina she seems to be able to speak to Luke and bring about ways in which he needs to see how his family are affected by his poor choices at times — Sabrina organises for Luke to go home — Luke takes Sabrina with him — the most heartfelt moment between them was when Luke opened up and said to Sabrina how he saw it that she gave him back his family — and in turn he wanted to share his family with her because he knew they all had enough love to welcome his bestfriend Sabrina into their homely and loving arms (as Sabrina had lost her family) —
Reading Cocksure was truly an amazing experience where I would laugh, cry, roll my eyes, and just viscerally have my heart ripped out through the dialogue I loved how effortlessly Luke and Sabrina loved each other and how when Luke realises he has royally fucked up — but also that he too feels the same way — but is it too late???
After a scandal is leaked in the press Luke discovers his mother has been having some health issues given his love for his family he acts in concern getting Sabrina to clear his schedule — so he and Sabrina can go home — Sabrina books his ticket when he emphasises she is going too!!! As she loves his family she welcomes the visit — but from between the morning trek to Sabrina’s to collect her for the flight stopping for coffee lol 😂 things start to change in Luke’s perspective and Sabrina arrives in a new light...
Enter in a stolen moment and a very heat inducing wet dream of a kiss 💋 fireworks and stakes claimed come witherwall upon Luke overhearing something he wasn’t meant to hear life takes both Luke and Sabrina on a journey of self discovery as well as mutual affection..
Luke lying to his mother to make her feel better and less stressed about his life and secrets he holds as to why he left them and didn’t look back until Sabrina ♥️
Sometimes things spoken with the best of intentions take on a life of their own and become a story which just runs as effortlessly as it is naturally ... Luke always needing to touch and hold Sabrina (it’s a self soothing action he does without thinking) their fairytale begins ♥️
Secrets come out — people overhear conversations had — the world breaks in news of the news —
Sabrina is going with the flow barely keeping how she truly feels above water — when their relationship comes full circle — amidst a possible blackmail situation — Luke reacts and in turn breaks both his and Sabrina’s heart — with his assholeish decision on the spur of the moment — realising his mistake after it’s too late and a message his sister posted on her brothers social media #WhereIsSabrina starts a nationwide search which Luke posts a media release asking fans to desist on their stalking behaviour regarding Sabrina — and him explaining how is sisters post was misinterpreted—
He with the aid of his agent locates Sabrina and well.....
you will have to read the story to uncover the secrets being withheld and the journey that transpired between the characters in the book ♥️

Sabrina has had her own family turmoil and Luke has been there with her throughout that stage of Sabrina’s adult life — they’re best friends — and at times people mention Luke’s family to Luke he will not tolerate it and reacts by lashing out verbally — to all with exception to Sabrina she seems to be able to speak to Luke and bring about ways in which he needs to see how his family are affected by his poor choices at times — Sabrina organises for Luke to go home — Luke takes Sabrina with him — the most heartfelt moment between them was when Luke opened up and said to Sabrina how he saw it that she gave him back his family — and in turn he wanted to share his family with her because he knew they all had enough love to welcome his bestfriend Sabrina into their homely and loving arms (as Sabrina had lost her family) —
Reading Cocksure was truly an amazing experience where I would laugh, cry, roll my eyes, and just viscerally have my heart ripped out through the dialogue I loved how effortlessly Luke and Sabrina loved each other and how when Luke realises he has royally fucked up — but also that he too feels the same way — but is it too late???
After a scandal is leaked in the press Luke discovers his mother has been having some health issues given his love for his family he acts in concern getting Sabrina to clear his schedule — so he and Sabrina can go home — Sabrina books his ticket when he emphasises she is going too!!! As she loves his family she welcomes the visit — but from between the morning trek to Sabrina’s to collect her for the flight stopping for coffee lol 😂 things start to change in Luke’s perspective and Sabrina arrives in a new light...
Enter in a stolen moment and a very heat inducing wet dream of a kiss 💋 fireworks and stakes claimed come witherwall upon Luke overhearing something he wasn’t meant to hear life takes both Luke and Sabrina on a journey of self discovery as well as mutual affection..
Luke lying to his mother to make her feel better and less stressed about his life and secrets he holds as to why he left them and didn’t look back until Sabrina ♥️
Sometimes things spoken with the best of intentions take on a life of their own and become a story which just runs as effortlessly as it is naturally ... Luke always needing to touch and hold Sabrina (it’s a self soothing action he does without thinking) their fairytale begins ♥️

Sabrina is going with the flow barely keeping how she truly feels above water — when their relationship comes full circle — amidst a possible blackmail situation — Luke reacts and in turn breaks both his and Sabrina’s heart — with his assholeish decision on the spur of the moment — realising his mistake after it’s too late and a message his sister posted on her brothers social media #WhereIsSabrina starts a nationwide search which Luke posts a media release asking fans to desist on their stalking behaviour regarding Sabrina — and him explaining how is sisters post was misinterpreted—
He with the aid of his agent locates Sabrina and well.....
you will have to read the story to uncover the secrets being withheld and the journey that transpired between the characters in the book ♥️

For all the crap that went down with #cockygate earlier this year (and it was pure crap and totally awful), this book is a bright spot to come out of it (I'm not touching the actual scandal here, I won't get into it...I'm just sayin). I never thought I'd be happy for that woman's actions (not that I am, because it royally ticked me off), but it brought me this book so...I'm glad things worked out in the end.
So, with that said, I loved this book. I loved Sabrina and Luke. I loved their friendship and their chemistry together (once they actually got together). Prior to starting the book, I was wondering how the fake relationship would come about, and I liked how it went down.
And let me just say, I loved the moment of truth moment Luke had near the end with his mom. She was no fool. Just sayin.
I'll admit, that this book delved into things that I wasn't expecting. That's not a complaint, just a comment. I didn't expect Luke's past. I didn't expect that once I started. Obviously he had secrets, it was mentioned early on, but I didn't expect what they really were until later.
I really liked Luke's family. I loved his siblings and mom. She was awesome but not annoying. So often in books, the mother or grandmother is great in small doses but then becomes overwhelming and annoying. Luke's mom wasn't like that.
I think of of my favorite lines in the book was where Luke and Sabrina were talking about family and Luke told her that because she didn't have a family, he wanted to share his with her. And that's why he started going back to visit them.
I'll also say that I was glad that she really made him work for it after things went bad between them. I hate it when the heroines give in too quickly and fall at his feet. This book was definitely awesome and a must read!

“I made you go with me for a couple of reasons,” I said, the ground under me uncertain, even though I was sitting down. I rubbed my thumb over the back of her hand, focusing on how soft her skin felt.
“Yeah?”
I made myself look at her. “You wanted a family. I wanted to share mine.”

To be honest, I saw the author and title of this one--paired with the series name--and read just the beginning of the blurb, and said, "Eh, sure, I'll read it..." just because I figured anything inspired by the recent court case would at the very least be entertaining.
I really wasn't expecting the places that this one took us to, though. It ended up having so much more to it than just a reaction to all of that ridiculousness, and a impressive number of troupes (friends-to-lovers, workplace/boss-employee romance, fake relationship) and situations (parental drug use and suicide, parental illness and surgery, childhood sexual abuse, the challenge of being a celebrity and trying to have a personal life in the age of social media...) that could have resulted in a huge mess but instead came together into one heck of a story.
I really liked Sabrina and Luke, and though she spends much of the first few pages lamenting on how "cocky" her boss is, we find out through the course of the book (though really, shouldn't Sabrina have known this already? Looking back that first bit felt like it was more for effect, which is partly why the emotional impact of the rest of it took me by surprise) that most of it is just a facade, covering up a past hurt that he still hasn't dealt with. It's easy to almost forget how everything started--except when others bring up the PR nightmare that they had been dealing with at the time--because the reader is soon swept up into the drama of the rest of the story.
I have to admit that the "black moment" here was rather painful, and though Luke does a decent job of trying to make up for it I was disappointed that there wasn't an epilogue to the story, just to give us a hint of where the two of them were going to go after their reconciliation. Instead, it just kind of...ended. Hopefully we'll get more of a sense of where they end up in future series books, since this is billed as the "Cochrans of Cocker County #1" and all... ;)

The Cochrans of Cocker County #1, It feels so nice to get a Shiloh Walker book in my hands again. Shiloh has created a fantastic family series this along with being a wonderful romance it was a great introduction to the family, I can't wait for the other books. The emotions in this book run deep, I was in tears at a couple of parts. Luke and Sabrina are hot together. It's a friends to lovers romance with an alternating first person POV. The characters have great depth and you really empathize with them, you root for them and when Luke does something stupid you want to hit him upside the head Gibbs style.
Sabrina works as Luke's personal assistant and has been in love with him for years and she' come to accept that they could never be a thing she's happy just being in his life as is until his mom gets sick. Luke is a nice guy, despite being a playboy and very aware of his good looks and a bit self centered, okay a lot self centered but when someone he loves needs help he will go the distance to help them. Sabrina sees more than just movie star Luke she sees him for who he really is and that's who she fell in love with.
When Luke's mom starts having heart problems Sabrina works miracles to rearrange his schedule so he can go to her. In Luke's hast to reassure his mom that he is happy he blurts out that Sabrina and him are engaged which inadvertently gets leaked to the press and now Sabrina is forced into Luke's spotlight. As much as she doesn't want it and hates lying to his family she loves him and agrees to do it. Luke in all this pretending finally realizes he's not pretending he really does love Sabrina. But something from Luke's past comes up, something he's been hiding from for years and he lashes out and hurts Sabrina in the worst way possible. But once Luke gets his past sorted out he's determined to set things right with Sabrina.
Overall, I am already in love with this family and it's a good size family, so I really am looking forward to many more books and the other siblings falling. I love Shiloh's writing style, hot romance, witty banter, and emotionally damaged characters you can see grow and become better. It's a great story on so many levels.

I read Cocksure while on vacation, it was the perfect vacation read. Let’s begin by saying Cocksure is exactly the kind of romance we all need to read. Luke Cochran is popular with women, he is one of the hottest Hollywood actors and he is also cockiest man alive. His cockiness takes a hit when he is found with his pants around his ankles. Amid the backlash, his manager & assistant take it upon themselves to try to restore his image.
Luke’s career is at all-time high, his reputation as a good actor is only shadowed by his reputation as a playboy, no woman can scape his charm and good looks, including his assistant Sabrina. Sabrina has been in-love with Luke since the moment she met him, but over the years she has put her job first and had soon understood that her crush and attraction for Luke is something she will never be able to indulge on.
The story develops quickly, Sabrina & Luke became friends when she started working for him as his assistant. She has made his life a lot more organized and Luke doesn’t know what he would do without her. Over the years, Sabrina has come to be Luke’s first hand, not just keeping him organized but also grounded. When family tragedy pushes Luke to the brink of a nervous breakdown, Sabrina is there to help her boss not realizing that she will soon experience heartbreak.
I really liked how the author created a fun dynamic between these characters. Their interaction flows easily. As these two characters experience life-changing situations, they are pushed closer and closer together, and it isn’t long until things start to unravel and a little white lie prove to be more difficult to handle than they anticipated. For Luke, getting close to Sabrina brings feelings he didn’t know existed, but for Sabrina getting so close and personal with Luke will only bring heartbreak, but she doesn’t shy away from the experience. He is exactly what she thought he would be, amazing.
Cocksure is a fun read. Luke is charming, he is smart, he is fun and he has a pull that can be dangerous. Sabrina is smart, beautiful and loyal to a fault. Cocksure reiterates the reality that lying can have dire consequences and our best bet is to always be honest. The author did a fantastic job with this story, the interaction & banter between Sabrina & Luke is sweet, sexy & very enjoyable. A fantastic read that can be enjoyed at any time and anywhere, Luke is wonderful and Sabrina is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and read this story, you will love it too.

My love for Shiloh Walker’s words has never been a secret. If there’s a book out there with her name on it, I own/read it already. Some of them more than once :)
I love everything behind the *birth* of this series. The issue behind trademarking commonly used words and authors behaving very very badly. For that alone, this book should be purchased by everyone! If you’re unsure of what I’m referring to, just Google *cockygate* and you can get all caught up.
I think what I like most about this story is the mixture of tropes. One could say it’s a *workplace romance* or *friends to more* romance or even *fake girlfriend/fiancé to more* romance … You can’t just pick one because they are all intertwined in the journey of Luke and Sabrina. And it just makes their story that much more engaging.
Luke and Sabrina had fantastic chemistry as friends, as co-workers and as lovers. Their connection to one another didn’t become more/better when they took the step to *more*. It simply enhanced it. Their story was emotional as well as sexy. The best of both worlds! They were simply endearing and adorable to read. That’s not to say there was no conflict and it was all rainbows and gumdrops. It was not. But you’ll have to #oneclick for those kinds of details!
I will say this one thing that it lacked in my opinion and that’s an epilogue of some sort. Something to round out some of the threads in the story that didn’t quite read as finished/complete. It’s a small detail, but some stories feel abrupt in their ending without an epilogue and this was one of them.

Cocksure was an incredibly enjoyable story that I found to be intriguing form the first moment I started to read the story. The characters I loved to read about and the instant connection between the two main characters. I enjoyed the banter within the story and the love that was evident throughout the story between the main characters and the Luke family.
Sabrina, I enjoyed reading about because it was apparent how much she cared for Luke and his family. I love the way she was willing to do anything to help Luke during a hard time he was experiencing.
Luke was the hot movie star that always took the time to speak to his fans. I admired the way that he was with his fans and I adored the way he cared for his mum. He was an extremely likeable character.
Cocksure was full of emotions within the story with a fantastic storyline that I loved reading. Shilow Walker was a new author to me, and I have become an instant fan after reading this story. Cocksure is a story I recommend to others to read.

You can’t judge a book by its title can you? I seriously wasn’t even aware that it was an ACTUAL WORD!! And I call myself a writer 🙈
But seriously, this story caught me by surprise! I was approved by Net galley for this one and I was pretty sure I was in for something sexy. I wasn’t wrong! This book chalk full of steamy goodness!🔥🔥But I was pleasantly surprised to find how invested I got with the story.
Luke is a rising star in the film industry and Sabrina is his personal assistant. She’s of course been in love with the actor for years but doesn’t hold out hope that he’ll ever return her feelings. While Luke often plays into his persona of a cocky bastard hunk, he’s not all that he seems. Inside he’s hiding a painful secret.
There are some moments, particularly in the beginning, where I feel this book gets a little over the top with the “cocky” puns. It gets a little ridiculous 😂 but I after a while I stopped noticing. You just have to smile and just go with it.
I think if you like Christina Lauren, particularly the Beautiful Bastard series, you’ll probably really like this book! I really really enjoyed it! It’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

Well, what a great story! It had a bit of everything, cockiness, shyness,laughter, reflection, insecurity, strength, sexiness and grit. Sabrina is the perfect admin to a larger than life movie star, Luke. Luke has a few insecurities and so does Sabrina. There's lots going on in Luke's life and as usual Sabrina takes care of it without Luke noticing it or her. It's a lovely journey filled with thoughtful and stirring moments, and funny ones too. "How can I think about anything else but you when I saw you in your bra and panties Ina"? It was a page turner for sure, you wanna route for them, but there are so many external pressures coming for all sides and some supporting pressure that you didn't know was there either. You will certainly enjoy this story. I can't wait for the next Cochran to fall.

IF this is the first in the series THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SERIES!!!!!!
Love the way Shiloh Walker writes - it's always easy to read and so descriptive I'm living the book as I go.
Ina is in love but afraid to admit it, afraid to be hurt and afraid to NOT act on what she feels.
Luke is your typical celebrity who's screwing his way through the world rather than risk feeling something for someone.
Best friends who come together to cover for a "white lie"; but what happens when they both are forced to face what they feel, what the past has caused and the future holds. What happens when the lie becomes the truth.
Such a fantastic story LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!

I really wasn't sure what to think of this book when I first started it. I half expected it to be more of rom-com, with heavy stress on the comedy.
BUT
It was far from that. Yes there were parts that I laughed, but it was so much more than that. I loved the angst in it, especially near the end. I'm glad the author didn't just have Sabrina back down and take him back too quickly. I loved that she stuck up for herself and believed in herself despite the fact that she had been in love with him for years.

Cocksure is a fun mixed bag of tricks. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen next the author up and surprises you with a twist. This is a delightful romp with a serious subplot and a truly wonderful read.

Cute story. A little cliched, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Sabrina has been in love with her boss, move star Luke, for years. Of course, he never notices. But when his mom is seriously ill, he pretends they are engaged to soothe his mom.
Not a whole lot of surprises, but good story.

This book had a lot going on. A fake relationship. A girl in love with her boss. A man with dark secrets. Whew. It just seemed like a lot of plot lines for one story.

I am so very glad that Luke is not as cocky as the book description made him out to be. Sabrina can be a push over at times, but she sure is great at her job. I will be suggesting Cocksure, to all of my friends.

Luke can't concentrate at times, "I just saw you all but naked, Ina. I’ve got other...things on my mind.” Seriously the man needs to be kept in line, "he didn’t look concerned. I shoved his arm. It was like trying to shove an oak tree. “Aren’t you listening?” I liked this book, I really liked Luke.

Sabrina Maxwell has gone through something a child should never have to go through. Luke Cochran seems to be really full of himself – God’s gift and all. This author takes on the task of creating a character with two real conditions. My love for this book started with her inspiration for this story – bravo!
Sabrina seems to be a self-assured woman until she’s around her boss. Luke is a man that I’m not sure about in the beginning. He’s an actor that has an outside persona that he lets the world see but he’s struggling on the inside. There’s one person who seems to be able to ground him. We get to see the adventure of these two trying to navigate whatever they have going on. Luke also has family issues that have to be dealt with but it was nice to see that he had Sabrina to lean on. A secondary character that I came to love is Kelly. She’s a woman who won’t take anything from anyone. She’s also a good friend to Sabrina. And she’s the connection between our two main characters.
This is a book where you’ll get your money’s worth. It is longer than some but that didn’t surprise me since the author is building a new series. This is not a story that is all hearts ‘n flowers. It’s not a story that’s all about romance and the heat that the two main characters created. There’s some actual “meat” to the story and all the characters seem to be up to the task this author has given them. For some the ending may be a little confusing – how could someone be so obtuse - but in a way we get to see some of the man we met at the beginning of this story. We’re not left with a lead in to the second book in the series – and don’t expect any hints.
