A MARQUIS WITHOUT HOPE OF LOVE
Noah Haskett, the Marquis of Hesterton, is a recluse due to the rumors surrounding his late brother's death. Staying away from the ton has been a reprieve from the debutantes who want him only for his title and wealth. After all, what woman would desire a beast of a man with a twisted leg? Never once has the idea of marriage, much less love, crossed his mind...until the day he saves a mysterious, dark-haired beauty.

AN HEIRESS BURDENED WITH A GIFT
Miss Helen Craig has spent a lifetime hiding her ability to see the future, avoiding any opportunities for marriage because she fears passing on her "gift" to a child. But what she does not anticipate is the very heroic, very handsome marquis--and her vision of his impending death.

A DESIRE NEITHER CAN DENY
Attempting to save the marquis from murder brings danger to Helen's door, as well as undeniable passion. But is the scorching heat between them enough to make them trust one another? Will the two find love, or will death catch them in its grasp first?

Series: Enduring Legacy #11
Publication Date: 11/6/18

This series is about a family with an extraordinary gift that gets passed down from generation to generation. I have to admit that I have not read any of the other books in the series – mostly because when I look at the reviews, they all say something about ‘needing a box of tissues’ or being heartbreaking. I just haven’t been in the mood to have my heart broken, so I haven’t read the books. But – who can NOT read a Madeline Martin book? Not me – I just had to read it – and I have to say I loved it. Luckily, I didn't need tissues and my heart is fully intact.

Noah and Helen are two lonely, troubled people who have always wanted love and acceptance from those who are supposed to love and accept them. Isn’t it sad that who are supposed to protect and love us most and the ones who so frequently hurt us the deepest?

Noah Haskett, The Marquis of Hesterton has always been a bit of a recluse, but for the last year, since his brother Rupert died, he hasn’t left home at all. Noah was once a happy child, running and playing with his brother and sister. Then, he contracted an illness that he barely survived, but it left his foot and leg twisted and weak (polio?). He endured a lot of belittling, taunts, and abuse from the boys at his school – but – worst of all – from his father. Noah doesn’t feel any woman can ever love and accept him for himself – flaws and all. He’s a monster.

Miss Helen Craig is outrageously wealthy, firmly committed to not marrying, and hiding her exceptional ability to see both the past and the future. Her mother belittled her and constantly threatened her with bedlam when she was a child – simply because she would tell her mother things that were going to happen. Helen soon came to feel that her ability was a curse and not a gift and she hated it. She certainly had no intention of ever having children and passing that curse along to them.

Helen meets Noah when he saves her from a runaway carriage. She immediately feels the calming effect he has on her and the strong pull. She also sees he is in danger – grave danger. She’s never tried to change the future she has seen before, but she’s going to try this time.

As Helen and Noah draw closer and closer, the threat becomes more and more immediate. More attempts are made and her visions are becoming more and more intense, which means the event is close at hand. What can she do to save Noah? She even tries to read people even though it brings her pain. She thinks if she can read those around him, she can see who means him harm. Then, out of left field comes the totally and completely unexpected villain. You won’t see that one coming!

This novella has a delightful epilogue and I can certainly recommend this wonderful read.

💋💋
This such an unusual series, and Madeline’s book is an excellent addition to that series.
Two people fighting to regain control of their lives and to heal , wether from physical or emotional trauma , both need understanding and love , and closure.
He from bullying and punishment from others when growing up and from the loss of his brother.
She from lack of a mothers love and the treatment she received from the woman, due to an inherited gift .
They are stronger together is definitely the message in this book .
But aren’t we all stronger when we’re with our soul mates.
Excellent book , that drew so many emotions from me whilst reading it , I loved the book so much
I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review

Noah Haskett, The Marquis of Hesterton has never been comfortable in polite society. His leg was crippled as a result of a childhood illness and his temperament is taciturn on the best of days, but the death of his brother Lord Rupert Haskett and the subsequent rumors have given him an excuse to withdraw from society. His sister Nancy has tried to pull Noah out of his seclusion, she visits him on the anniversary of their brother’s death and promises to give him information about a survivor of Rupert’s unit – but he must promise to attend her daughter’s musicale and visit Rupert’s grave with her. Eager for information that could clear his brother, he agrees and then learns that the man, Tobias Graston is a patient at Bedlam and doesn’t speak. Nancy’s lead seems hopeless but what they find at the cemetery convinces Noah that he will find a way to get the truth.

Helen Craig is also a not a fan of society, she has a gift (more of a curse in her mind) she can see a person’s future by touching them and if that wasn’t bad enough in the past year she has begun to get visions of their past as well. Terrified she would eventually go insane, she began volunteering at St. Thomas’ hospital, hoping to learn how to prevent that from happening. She meets Noah by chance when he saves her from being run down in the street. The contact with him brings her a sense of calm that she has never experienced and powerful vision of death. For the first time in her life, Helen decides to intervene and change the future, but somehow she must convince Noah that he is in danger without revealing her gift.

Fate seems to be working with them, Helen knows Noah’s sister Nancy and will be attending the musicale. Noah will ask for her help with Graston and she will endeavor to find out if her vision was from the past or if it the future. And if it is the future, figure out a way to warn him without giving up her secret. She is happy to help him as it will give her a chance to spend time with him and determine how best to save him.

As they work to help Graston recover, they grow closer and the spark between them becomes a fire, but neither believes love is in their future. Noah believes no woman could want him and Helen cannot risk passing on her “gift” to a child, though they both love the other, they seem to be at a stalemate in regards to their relationship. When Helen learns the truth about Rupert, she is anxious to tell him what she has learned, but a shocking twist will bring her vision of death into reality, she will realize that love truly is worth any risk, but has this epiphany come too late?

This was a well written, well-paced story with wonderful characters, secrets, a dash of paranormal, steamy love scenes, laugh out loud moments, twists and turns, shocking surprises and finally a HEA complete with an epilogue! This book is part of the Enduring Legacy series, but it can absolutely be read as a stand alone title without any problems.

I am mesmerized! This is an amazing story that kept me going until the end. I could not put this book down. There is so much heartbreak but also so much joy. The description of the war made me cry. What Helen discovered also made me cry. But in a good way. This story is definitely very emotional. And at the end, there is a twist I didn't see coming. Well written, Ms. Martin! I highly recommend you all go and get mesmerized as well!

I really enjoyed Mesmerizing the Marquis by Madeline Martin. I am always up for a book where one or more of the characters have supernatural abilities and this one did not disappoint. The story is beautifully written and full of emotion. Both the hero and heroine endured a lot and were incredibly captivating. I adored Helen and Noah. The story was unpredictable and I was taken by surprise more than once. I am a big fan of Madeline Martin’s writing and she continues to mesmerize me with every story she writes!! I highly recommend this book, I could not put it down and read it all at once.

In the beginning, we are introduced to Noah Haskett the third marquis of hesterton. He has been a recluse for a year because of the death of his brother Rupert on the battle field. His sister Nancy has a plan to get him out of his recluse state. On their way to their brother's final resting place Noah bumps Into Helen.

Helen has had a gift of seeing the future since childhood. She has a hard time accepting her gift because of how awful her mom treated and threatened to send her off to an asylum. When Helen bumps Into Noah, she sees his future..... or maybe his past?

Together they will become a team to find out what the future may hold for both of them and accept their past. Will they find out who is trying to kill Noah? will the silence of one of the soldiers that was in the same battle as his brother Rupert finally be broken? Will Noah and Helen have a future?

I read this book in one night. It kept me mesmerized, excited, and *fanning self* moments. I always enjoy reading Madeline's work! This was not a disappointment.

This book was definitely mesmerizing to be sure! It was impossible to put down once I started it. I think this may be my favorite Madeline Martin story to date, though it is difficult to make such a bold statement since all of her books have been so wonderful. There was just something about this story that got to me. Both Noah Haskett, the Marquis of Hesterton and Helen Craig, a wealthy single woman, meet when Noah saves Helen from a runaway carriage. They are both lonely people who have suffered humiliation from those closest to them. Noah, for a childhood illness that has left him with a twisted leg and Helen because of her gift of sight. This is such a wonderfully written love story with some entertaining and surprising twists. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this story and can honestly recommend it enthusiastically. I only wish I could give it more than five stars.

As I turned the last page, all I could do was sigh knowing that I had truly been mesmerized by this story. Two people who were having a hard time navigating through life until they met each other. Could that really happen? A true soulmate who understood the other and had the compassion and foresight to see what each other needed? Beautifully written and full of emotions with a mystery that comes full circle in the end when least expected.
Noah Haskett had become a recluse from society, mainly due to the ton speaking badly about his brother who had died in the war. Coward? No way he could have been, yet there wasn't anyone to confirm otherwise until he found one of his fellow soldiers. The problem was he was in Bedlam.
Helen Craig truly dislikes going into society, for she has a gift as an empath and touching people makes her see their future. But now she can see some of their past also, like her aunt who she lives with in town. When Noah finely comes out with his sister, fate steps in and he saves Helen from getting run over by a carriage. Thus begins their journey.
I will leave it at that because I do not want to give too much away. But I can honestly say, this story tugged at my heart and I stayed up until 4:00 to finish reading. As Madeline Martin always does with her wonderful words, she created a story that will go on my shelf to be read again. One of my favorite books this year.

Mesmerizing the Marquis by Madeline Martin is book 11 in the Enduring Legacy series. This is the story of Helen Craig and Noah Haskett, the Marquis of Hesterton. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was easily a standalone book.
Helen has always had the gift to see the future, but it wasn't a welcoming gift with her family. They ridiculed her so much and made threats that she tries to keep it hidden. When she is saved by Noah it her first feeling of a calming she has had but she also see that he has danger around him. Not wanting him hurt she now seeks to help him. Noah was once a fun loving child who played but then he fell ill that left him with physical limitation on his foot and leg. This left him to turn inward since the children turned to tease and call him names...but the worst person to do so was his father. Now he is a recluse only coming out after his brother's death and to seek information when a survivor is found to possible have the answers he needs. Noah and Helen are both lost sole made whole by each other.
This was such a good read...loved it...page turner for me!

Noah Haskett, is a man running from his past. For the last year, the Marquis of Hesterton has been living in seclusion to escape the stares of his society peers for he is the brother of an alleged coward. But when he's forced out of his escape to hear the story that might save his brother's reputation, he meets a most charming lady. Miss Helen Craig is unlike any woman Noah has ever encountered. She's extraordinary... actually she's more amazing than what he believes. Helen has spent her life hiding the fact that she can see into the past and future of almost anyone she touches. Afraid that it might lead to her own madness, she begins volunteering at a hospital for the mentally ill... that's where she meets the Marquis of Hesterton when he's on official business to clear the blot from his brother's good name. But all is not perfect as one might guess when the two meet, Helen has a vision in which someone is trying to kill the young marquis... can she save him and change the future? or is the fate sealed?

Whilst each book in the series can be read on its own, there is the theme of the descendants of the family with special powers in each book hence The Enduring Legacy.
So far I’ve only read half of the books but have the others waiting to be read. I’ve found myself taken on a roller coaster of emotions with each book so have needed time in between each one & sometimes more than a week
This mesmerising read features Noah Haskett, the Marquis of Hesterton who is a recluse & Miss Helen Craig who can see the future.
I love the author’s books & she is one of my must read authors. This is another engrossing read which I read in a sitting as I couldn’t stop until I reached the last page. I really must stop starting to read one of the author's books on an evening as I can say goodbye to sleep until it's finished
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Noah and Helen both have secrets that will stop them from ever getting married. Who would love and want them as they are? With touch Helen can see the past and future of that person. Helen believes that this (gift) will drive her crazy. Helen tries to avoid anyone's unwanted touch. Due to an illness when Noah was a child he walks with a limp. He wants no one to see his leg. Noah's brother is believe to have died a coward and Noah wants to find out what really happen and Helen just might be able to help him. Noah save's Helen's life when a carriage is about to run her down. She discovers that Noah's touch brings her peace, but with that touch she see's his death in the future. Can she change what she has seen? She must try to save him. I loved this book and highly recommend it. Madeline Martin is a great author.

Noah Haskett, the Marquis of Hesterton has become a recluse over a year ago after his brother was killed and declared a coward during the war. He would love nothing better than to prove his brother was an honorable soldier. Miss Helen Craig has spent a lifetime hiding her ability to see the future, that is until Noah saves her life and she sees he’s in danger and offers to help a complete stranger, but she has to keep her gift a secret. Noah and Helen are definitely two lost souls who desperately want to be accepted by society and find someone to love them for their selves. I loved this story of adventure as they venture through the past and present to find a killer and discover a love they both deserve if they have the courage to live their lives without fear. This my honest opinions is resolved to build a school for ladies in after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

I am such a big fan of Madeline Martin books. She is such an amazing author and woman, I can never put her books down once i start them. They suck you into the story and you just cannot put it down until you get to the end.

She is such a wonderful creative author. I love this type of writing where you are reading about historic men and women and the romance to go along with it. Just absolutely amazing.

This had it all for me, twists, suspense, romance that builds slowly, and lovemaking, swoon worthy. I need to feel a connection to my H/h in order for me to care about the lovemaking, and this author pulled me in from the first.

This had a different take then some of the other stories in this series written by different author's and I loved it. Our h has an ability that she isn't comfortable with and the H has become a recluse. They pull out the best in each other and help each other live again.

The lovemaking is passionate, loving and heat level 4-4.5 out of 5, but not erotic. Happens only once prior to marriage, another time mild foreplay.

There is suspense which will keep you guessing and had a twist I certainly didn't expect. I loved the epilogue a few years in the future that just warmed my heart!!

A must read for sure.

Mesmerizing the Marquis by Madeline Martin is the eleventh book in the multi-author series Enduring Legacy, stories that weave an everlasting spell. Martin is hands down one of my very favorite authors. I have never read a book that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed and this one is no exception.
Noah Haskett, the third Marquis of Hesterton is in seclusion ever since the death of his beloved brother at Waterloo. His deceased brother Rupert has been accused of cowardice and Noah can’t bear the pain of the unlikely stigma. On his way to visit Rupert’s grave, he rescues the beautiful Helen Craig. Craig has the gift of seeing people’s futures and their pasts through touch, When she is thrown into Noah’s arms an amazing connection begins. But when her gifting shows her that Noah is in danger, can she rescue him?
Truly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more in this series.

This book proves how talented a writer Ms Martin is. This was very different from her usual and I found it quite engaging. The characters each had their own “flaws” and the way they were written, you could feel their pain. This book had all the suspense, mystery, adventure and romance to keep you reading. Although I don’t usually read paranormal, this book had just enough to keep me interested. There were a few sex scenes in it and this reviewer skipped them as usual but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this book. I received this book as an ARC.

I truly appreciated the conflict in Noah when he was trying to deal with his brother's legacy and his childhood bulling. Helen has to deal with the heritage from her mother. when they meet and have a connection, the twist and turns make an intriguing story.

I loved the story, from the time period, to the ability that Helen has to see both the past and the future just by touching. Also enjoyed the steamy scenes too. glad to have cold water, ice melted, nearby.

I loved that they broke all the rules and that they had such fabulous family there to help them along. I couldn’t love this book more if I tried. I very much enjoyed the story of Helen and Noah. If anybody needed the other, it was these two. Both wounded and hiding secrets and hating to be out in society for various reasons.

I was glad it was also about the soldiers and the trauma they endure on the battlefields, although this was about Napoleon's war, it's still the case for all wars, so it was great that she made this subject a big part of the book.

Noah and Helen both healed each other. It's a story of love, friendship, acceptance and heroism. Loved it.

I received this book in return for an honest review.
I really thoroughly enjoyed reading Mesmerizing the Marquis. The 'who could it be' mystery and finding the truth out about his brother gave the story just enough twist and turns that it kept me interested through the whole book. It made me sad that Helen didn't enjoy her 'gift' and that Noah felt ashamed of his disability but felt that they both complimented each other well.
I have really liked reading all of Madeline Martin's books because the characters' stories and traits were all different enough everytime, that I don't feel like I was reading the same thing all of the time. I truly look forward to the next book of her's that I get my hands on.

What is better than a historical romance? A historical regency romance with a mystery and paranormal. Mesmerizing the Marquis by Madeline Martin is book 11 of the Enduring Legacy series. Each book in this series is written by a different author and can be read as a standalone. I have read all of Madeline’s books and have enjoyed everyone but I thinks that Mesmerizing the Marquis is some of her best writing to date. The ending took me so much by surprise, I never saw it coming. Madeline has a way of drawing you in from the first page to the very last, she is that talented. I could not put this book down and had to know how it would end. You fall in love with her characters and the descriptions are so vivid that you feel and see everything that this story has to offer. This story has a childhood illness, murder, kindness, visions, accusations, death, grief, rescue, pride, scandal, jealousy, a sister’s love, support, traumatized speechless, a hero, healing, nightmares and yes, love. This book is a must read and I highly recommend that you do!! You will not be able to put it down!

Still going strong with the latest installment in this series! Book #11 is awesome!

Noah is a tortured man who hides from people because of a supposed family travesty and also because of his bad leg. Helen has a gift that she abhors and so she vows never to marry and have children so she does not pass along her ability. When Noah saves her life and little do they realize that their lives will be changed forever.

This story is full of emotion. It also has suspense and a twist that I did not see coming. It's a very well-written story that pulled me in right from the start, and it kept my interest right up until the last page. The characters are wonderful, interesting and entertaining. The story moved at a very nice pace. I felt fully connected with the characters and felt their pain right as well as their happiness.

Excellent story that should not be missed! Highly recommended!

It is a mystery and a romance, this wondrous tale of good and evil. Nosh Haskett, the third Marquis of Hesteron, is in the throws, his brother has been accused of cowardice. He died at Waterloo but everyone thought he ran away but he didn't. He adored his younger brother and held him in great esteem.
Helen Craig was a very special lady. She read at St. Thomas Hospital to help the wounded get well. She had a gift, she could see into the future if she touched someone. Since a year ago she has added seeing into the past as well. When Noah touched her she felt comfort, calm and tranquility. So much of her life was in turmoil, from her parents, her gift and life in general. This a unique storyline, where you see a gifted with a normal man. Noah had an accident when he was fairly young and needed to use a cane and had a bad limp. The characters were well developed and charming. The tale stands out as a great read and the author did a wonderful job of writing it the plot. The dialogue was expressive and made the book even more enjoyable. There is some sexy language, so the over 18 crowd for this.

I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
