Great resource book on flower gardening, goes into planning, styles, color palettes, as well as technique. Biggest complaint is that there isn't a part of the book that is organized by zone or region other than a few pages at the end.
A great reference book of flowers - both annual and perennial. It also includes a planting guide for each region of the United States and photos of each plant, which I really appreciated.
My mother-in-law, who is a master gardener, loaned me this book. What a great introduction to flower gardening! I love the principles in this book, like the importance of knowing when/how long flowers bloom, spacing, color, shade/sun, etc. This book also has practical applications, with helpful lists of perrenials, annuals, or whatever type of garden you're going for. I may just have to buy this book for myself to have as a reference. A definite good-read for any beginner (or non-beginner) who wants an overview of how flower gardening is done.
As I know nothing about gardening, I found this book to be a nice introduction. I especially liked the encyclopedia of flowers in the back. It made it simple to look up the care of any flower.
