I quite enjoyed the basic story, but you really couldn’t look too closely at some of the details, as they didn’t always make sense. However it was still a decent read.

Entertaining enough

The overarching story is interesting enough but the characters don't really get the development they need. The motivations of the trellixians have no depth. Would've liked to see more military command structure in the battles

Hope returns

It’s space opera, ok. But please dear author don’t make Captains of vessels totally stupid about risking their ships, there is indeed no need. Give the cool alien good guys more names or since you made them felines call em cats, call em kitties just don’t always call em your racial name for em, really we will get it.
I fairly happily read it and will read the finale, however for the love of your craft please use your Thesaurus! Fiery fireball indeed...
Either that or get a better editor!

Our author, Raymond Weil, has this thing about five young people saving the world. He wrote about the “Special Five” in his “Slavers Wars series and continued them in his “Originator Wars series. They may have been in another series, but I can’t remember. Anyway, we now have another group of five young people that are “special”, but at least they aren’t called the “Special Five”. Still, some of the writing in these books are kind of child like.

This story pickups up after the Trellixians have been to Earth and nearly wiped out humanity. But, we had prepared since the days of the Roswell incident which was in fact and alien ship crash site. One of the aliens had survived and has been telling humans all the secret technology of the Jelnoids, an alien race smaller than the humans and completely wiped out by the Trellixians. So Earth had some eighty years to prepare although humanity couldn’t figure out some of this advanced technology just because they didn’t have the tools, techniques or materials back in the early 40’s and 50’s. Humans knew they were not alone in the universe, but to avoid panic, no one ever reveled this fact to the general population. They also knew the Trellixians would eventually find Earth. They were hoping it wouldn’t be for a long, long time and by then we would have figured out all the Jelnoid tech and had prepared our defenses. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

Still, the Earth just got some of the Jelnoid tech figured out to use it against the Trellixians and it was just enough to win the day. The Trellixians hadn’t been defeated by any other race except the Jelnoids which they eventually wiped out anyway. Now, humans had given them a significant defeat and they were not sure what to do. In the meantime, Earth began it’s recovery. Having most of it’s population underground in huge fortifications, most of Earths industrial capability wasn’t lost. Using Jelnoid technology, the humans started creating weapons, shielding and starships of their own. Soon, they would be able to defend Earth much better than before, but they still didn’t know if it would be enough. So, the first thing to be built and launched were two battlecruisers that were going in search of an ally, a race that was possibly also at war with the Trellixians and would want to help Earth.

On board one of the exploration ship, Vengeance, was Lisa, Brenda, Brett, Kia, and Derek. All had been Army Captains during the initial Trellixian invasion and had lost someone during the war. Yet, each one was a brilliant scientist or researcher and held the promise of better days for the humans. The author says they were “reduce in rank” to Lieutenants, which is wrong if they are now in the Navy. An Army Captain is the equivalent to a Navy Lieutenant by rank in most militaries. Never-the-less, rank doesn’t seem to be of concern to these young Lieutenants nor is the fact that they are in the military and could be on a very dangerous mission. There’s nothing that says they won’t run into another race like the Trellixians or worse. Their six-month voyage might be a forever voyage if they don’t find some friends.

It just so happens that the Trellixians are fighting another race. The Trellixians have a run-a-way population with no birth control practices. Their existing worlds are crammed full and they need new worlds to colonize. If they find a new planet occupied, they destroy the civilization living there and put their race in its place. That’s the way things are and that’s the way things will be, according to the Trellixians. Yet, the Voltrex are so easy to defeat. In fact, they aren’t so easy to even find. When the Trellixians have found Voltrex fleets in space, they are usually in fleets that are huge. While their ships aren’t as advanced as the Trellixians, they are very, very many of Voltrex ships and it almost comes out a stalemate.

And it just so happens that of all the directions two Earth starships could be heading, they’re heading straight for Voltrex territory. The Trellixians find out their course and realize they must not let this contact take place. If they Voltrex were to gain Jelnoid technology and become an ally of the Earth, well it would be very, very bad for the Trellixian Empire. So how do they intend to stop the two Earth ships and does the Voltrex even know that someone is looking for them? Read the book and find out!

Good Read! Raymond Weil writes a good Sci-fi series. Just finished To the Stars, book two in the Earth Fall series. (Love the Kitties, hate the Lizards). Just saying. A belief that can bring a sentient species to commit genocide and feel self righteous for doing so is not original, think Hitler, but is impossible for a humane being to embrace. So allies and alliances are formed. Finally war will be taken to the species responsible for the death of uncounted billions across the universe. Third book in the series comes out in June. Counting down

Great feline novel

As the cat person, I wish to meet this feline alien population. No, it is just scientific fiction in which the Humans sending two exploration hardships to find the allies to defend Earth from the lizard people.

In these ships, there were the blueprints of the Roswell spacecraft crash in 1947. The Trexillian Empire wanted to grab one of the Humans' ships before they fell into their new allies' paws.

Battlefield Space

I really enjoyed the two books about the attacks by aliens against Earth. The fact that the aliens in this case were forced to take over worlds was different. I loved the Area 51 connection. Without giving away to much of the plots I will say these two stories were real page turners. If you a a fan of space action thrillers I believe that you will enjoy the work of this author.
My only caveat is as an African American reader and veteran, I would have liked to see more diversity. It’s like there were no black people on Earth. Otherwise great reads

Great Trilogy!

I have just finished the second book in the Trilogy and it may be a bit premature giving the set such a high rating, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two books so far. I enjoy the authors writing style, he keeps a single time line but continually switches perspective between the various hero's and protagonists. It's like getting the best visual and emotional insite at any one time.

The first book was carried by the setting.
This one however has huge issues.
It does not feel like characters have put the work in and earned what they received.
Many RnD firsts and all of them without any issues worth mentioning.
Running and crewing of the very frist starships can be done right away without issues, even integration is no issue.
Diplomacy on earth is not part of the book, and elsewere done without any issues again.

A great continuation to the first book - which I loved.
This book is full of surprises, epic battles and plot twists, that you can't wait to read.
Although you expect some things and you, basically, know that something will happen, you really cannot tell exactly what will happen - until it does. Which is very good for any book - it keeps you reading more and more.
I read this one over 4 hours, which is quick - so this should tell you how well-written this one is.

OMG

This review is a bit bipolar . The story is interesting but the author used every hack writing tool to move it along. There is no character development, brand new tech is invented and produced in weeks, characters make incredibly dumb decisions and the entire plot can be figured out right after the start of the book. The pity is I kept hoping the author would figure this out and the book would get better, but no luck.

The second book better than the first!

I totally enjoyed this book, even though it lacks the technical detail you might find in other books it was a fantastic read. I didn't want to put it down , a lot of it predictable, a lot of it too far fetched, but it was total entertainment.

A good wrap-up to the story started in the first book, but many totally hand-waved inconsistencies, such as communication between species (up to, and including piloting starships), production/technology, etc. -- If you're reading casually for fun, go for it. If you don't like SciFi that doesn't plausibly explain itself, then skip it.

Great 2nd book

Once again Raymond well has delivered a fantastic book. Please if you are looking for a great read then you must read this. Could not put this book down , and am now downloading all of his books and greatly looking forward to reading more.

Oh, This One Is Just As Good

Gave 5 stars because I enjoyed my time with this book. Yes, we're reading fiction about an age far in the future but it takes a good author to take us along on a believable ride in that future - and there's no doubt Weil is a darned good author.
Plot follows first book well.

I've read another series by this author and don't recall it being this poorly written. Poor writing style, serious lack of character development. I found I could skip entire paragraphs or even sections and not miss any important contact.

Classic Raymond Weil, Humanity in deep peril, across the galaxy another race is allso fighting the same foe. Can they make contact? Will help arrive before the earth is destroyed? and will forlorn hope colony ships find a refuge for mankind?
Read the book to see.

I really enjoyed this book. There is a special 5. Humanity gains a valuable ally. The linkage of technology to a famous UFO story is a stroke of writing mastery. I look forward to the last volume
