October 13, 2023Curiosity killed the cat. A case of brief craziness. This is not something I would normally read and I would have been better off leaving it alone. But I simply couldn't, the cover had been haunting my mind for weeks and I just had to peek inside.
Now, I can't finish reading this. That's not the book's fault, it's just too intense for me. The main reason may be that this is more of a documentary and not a romance. I knew that beforehand, so no criticism. But the matter-of-fact narration even when it is really brilliant is just not for me.
And why I stop now ... kinkwise this was super interesting. I learned new aspects that don't come up in romances in such a way. But now it's going in a direction - animalplay - that really isn't my thing, unfortunately. So I better stop before the book repulses me even more than it already has. But as I said, that's not a criticism, that's completely on me.

I've thought about this and I've changed my mind; I am going to rate it. Here's why: I've read plenty of books that weren't my particular flavor of kink. The thing is, if they're well written, the author makes them my kink for the duration of the read. This one didn't. It was one-dimensional.

Meh... If I were going to rate this is would be 2 stars, but I’m not going to because I’m not sure if it’s just a case of not-my-kink. The writing was fine I guess, not many editing errors, but not very interesting either. It didn't have much in the way of character development or plot, but it’s erotica so I don’t hold that against it... the problem was that I didn’t find it hot, either. I like a cock cage as much as the next kinky reader but the complete dehumanization of the “locked boys” just didn’t do it for me.
Really it's my own damn fault. I get drawn to read erotica porn from time to time but I find it disappointing and not hot about 90% of the time. One day I'll learn. Or not. 😂

After a lovely soul recced my kinky ass this book, I had to read it. Like, immediately. And it didn't disappoint. It had no right being as hot as it was. It isn't a romance, it's more of an erotic peak into the gay male chastity world, especially into the psychology and dynamics behind it. If you don't like sharing in a couple, skip. If you do and are a kinky mf like myself, enjoy.

There were awesome learning moments, I was just as eager to know as Marshall himself.
It was a nice, sexy and kinky read, I did read it in one breath. Im not sure if it’s good or bad but it was a bit business-wise and practically told. It’s told from Marshall’s pov and Marshall’s emotions were a bit flat, no real highs or lows.
The kink was there abundantly present and that’s what this was all about,

This was something else but in a very, very good way. I had so much fun reading this. It is very entertaining and informative. Sexy and steamy, but not your average, cookie-cutter kinky book. Yes, even in the world of kinkiness this one stood out for me. I have read many books set in the BDSM scene, and I have heard of caged boys but locked boys? No. That was new for me.
The book is divided into two parts. The first one in which reporter Marshall and his photographer Nico are interviewing two boys about their chastity lifestyle. It certainly gave me an entirely different view on the word. As it did for Marshall and Nico because they have the feeling they found what they were looking for all these years. Their working relationship soon became a rather personal and intimate one with their combined interests.
The second part of the book focuses on their building partnership. Sex is easy; a relationship not so much. There are a lot more emotions involved than they thought. But they are learning, especially Marshall. He is still kind of an arrogant man, but he learns that it is not all about him, even as it seems that way. He learns from listening to others, their views and opinions, and watching and listening to Nico, what it is what they both need.
I don’t know if it was the author’s intention, but this book also tickled my funny bone. The matter-of-fact approach and the easy way of telling all the kinky stuff are very refreshing and had me laughing out loud. And no one can tell me that size doesn’t matter. Trying out sexy toys becomes as normal as trying out some new pants with the very overt help of the shop assistant.

If I rated this on the quality of the writing and editing and the clear amount of research done, I'd give it 4.5 stars. But, if I rate it on my enjoyment, it would be closer to 1.5-2 stars. So I went with 3 stars. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not my book. I disliked the MC a lot, and since we're only in his head, we get a lot of him. I almost stopped more than once and ended up skimming the last 30%. Glad it was KU because I wouldn't re-read it.

So... hear me out. It wasn’t in my plans to read erotic fiction. And it wasn’t in my plans to actually like this book.
But here we are. And this book is HOT! And I’m not even into chastity. I do not enjoy it, I do not enjoy the idea of it.
But T.M. Chris made it work for me.
A very very quick read. Even though I know nothing about chastity, I wouldn’t recommend the book to someone who is trying to learn or get into chastity play because I don’t think it’s an accurate representation of the kink. At some point even the unnamed main character says “is this bdsm or am I just selfish? I don’t know.”
There’s no romance, there’s some dub-con (which is also like... not bdsm-y) but there are some people with specific needs that are met by each other. As explicit homoerotic fiction, it delivers.
But here we are. And this book is HOT! And I’m not even into chastity. I do not enjoy it, I do not enjoy the idea of it.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as her previous M/M releases. I enjoy erotic books, but I also want romance and a HFN or HEA ending. I didn't really feel like the MCs were in a relationship and the ending was disappointing. Reading this makes me want to go reread Owned!

Books about male chastity are few and far between. Finding accurate books is a needle in a haystack. This one didn't pass the test.
It started out with an interesting premise about two male lovers in chastity, but fell apart and borders on offensive. There's a scene that talks about sexual harassment and I *guess* it's supposed to be funny? A character asks his boss if they should be concerned about consent when a reporter has to go to cover a story. And then the boss (who's female) dismisses it, saying, "Oh, it will be fine. He's a man." Not an exact quote, but that was the summary of it. Seriously?? So men aren't capable of being victims of sexual harassment?
And then there are a lot of inaccuracies about chastity itself. One character's penis supposedly shrinks to nothing more than a nub after being in chastity. That's a constant and false stigma that demoralizes men. There's also a scene that involves prostate milking that is so riddled with inaccuracies, it makes me question if the author even bothered to research chastity or speak to any men before writing it.
This is what I'll say: in the chastity community, there are a lot of women who hate their husbands. They like to use chastity as a justification for humiliating them, degrading them, and being very cruel to them. It seems to be their way of settling some type of score or imbalance in society.
I think that if both partners are 100% consenting to the act, it's fine. But it involves a high level of trust and respect to voluntarily let another adult control your genitals. And I often see it used in an abusive way that goes beyond consent. This books only adds to the dangerous and inaccurate stereotypes.
I wish I had something more positive to say. Kink can be fun to read, but not when it is written by an uneducated author who doesn't know what they're talking about.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I found it quite interesting. First the reader should be open minded to enjoy this which I am. I’ve heard of cages but not locked boys. I felt the story moved right along and I had a hard time putting it aside. I also appreciated how this story was about a learning experience. It gave me another appreciation for people being able to live the lifestyle suited to them. I love when a story can put so much emotion into it while helping me understand a subject I’m unfamiliar with and a story I enjoy.

A great hot, sexy, and very kinky story. I thought I had read just about every kink out there but boy was I wrong. This was definitely a new one for me. The story is so well written that I could totally understand all of the characters and why they like their kink whether it's the ones practicing chastity like Chip and Billy, or being a keyholder. I really enjoyed taking this journey with Marshall and I love how his own story develops.

This book is different than your typical M/M Story. It starts with a writer interviewing two locked boys. Billy and Chip. I really enjoyed reading about the two locked boys, the point of view and why they want to live this lifestyle. I also loved how Marshall the writer after the interview, his world is opened up to New possibilities and how he finds his own locked boy.
This book also has super hot sex scenes! I very much love how Tanya Chris writes. I plan on reading all of her books!

I'm not into chastity as a fetish, although I do think it's an interesting one that I like to read about occasionally. The author writes a decent story, although there's not much to it other than the main character's exposure to the fetish and his eventual embrace of a locked boy of his own. What appealed to me was the psychological explorations of chastity. I always find digging into the "whys" more interesting than the "hows". Not to say the sex scenes weren't steamy, they were (to a point). The character development, however, was the highlight of the book for me.

Locked and Loaded
I've been enlightened by this story of a lifestyle I didn't know existed. This story as intense as it was lead me to do some research on the lifestyle and the individual fulfillment, dedication and commitment involved. Wow! This book is a page turner, filled with a bit of everything..and well written.

I love kink and BDSM so was curious when I began this book. Sounding, CBT etc I know about that, but locked? Nope.
The author does a great job showing what a locked boy is and I love Billy and Chip. Marshall gets his own locked boy with Nico and he learns how to treat him the way locked boys need to be treated.
I'll be reading more from this author for sure.

Just ok
I read it all but...not my thing. I know that this is a fictional story but I don't think putting a penis into a cage so tiny it squishes it unnaturally is safe.... especially when you keep it in the cage for weeks.
I usually enjoy T.M. Chris books, however this book is not one I will ever read again.
It is wee written so I gave it 3stars instead of 2.

Interesting
I was sad to say that this was not my favorite of T.M. Chris' books...it was definitely not a romance and while some of the scenes were hot, I just didn't feel any connection between the main characters.
