It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them.

Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.

I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.

I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die

description I think this is the only author that can happily get me to sign up for a trilogy. Every book I have read by her has been excellent, and this one was no different. I am not going to write an overly detailed review for this book. I'll save that for the last book when the trilogy is all wrapped up.

Needless to say, I enjoyed this one a lot. It didn't quite have the same impact out of the gate as the first books of the other two trilogies did. I am chalking that up to the fact that we are basical

Every time I finish one of Raine’s books, I am completely blown away. Each story so perfectly executed. Not only do all the intricate pieces build the suspense and excitement, but they all fit perfectly together in stunning ways. Danger around every corner, never knowing who to’s thrilling!!

Lily’s first book delivered all of that. I. Am. Hooked! Raine has an incredible ability of being able to transport you into her stories. I could feel Lily’s discomfort, her fear, it was palpable. I

A favorite author of mine is Meli Raine, she is known to do trilogies, and each trilogy is a spin-off of the previous series. We have had Lindsey's story in Harmless Trilogy; then we had her friend who later turned out to be her sister but not Jane in the Shameless Trilogy. In the Shameless Trilogy, Jane meets a girl named Lily who could have passed as Jane; she was her doppelganger. Too bad though that this didn't work out as well for Lily, as when a hit is put out on Jane. It wasn't Jane who g ...more

Loved it! No surprise there though. These characters have been dragging me along with them for some time. If you haven't already read them check out the Shameless series and the Harmless series. One day I will need to start right from the beginning and work my way through so I can see the characters developing now I know where they're going. They are so well written, as always with this author.

This book, from Lily's viewpoint, was totally gripping. Her thought processes coming out of a coma were

Waking up and seeing your attempted killer's face is frightening enough. For Lily to realize she's been in a coma for 14 months and that killer has integrated themselves into her family is worse. Learning they know she knows who they are could spell her death, for real this time. Only by lying can Lily have the hope of surviving and saving her family in the process. Trusting no one is second only to lying to ensure the safety of all those she loves.

Lily is a very strong woman. I admired her inne

This book was sent to me by the author for an honest review. Normally I don't care for books where the female character comes across as whiney. With this book, it didn't bother me because that became a part of Lilly's new life after she wakes up from a coma. She is full of anger and resentment because of how her attempted destroyed her once happy life because he mistook her for someone else. She knows who it is but is too terrified to say anything because she is afraid he will try to finish the ...more

False Memory is book one in a trilogy, it does end on a cliffhanger but the books are to be released a few weeks apart so no extended wait to finish the series. They cannot be read as stand alone and will need to be read in order.
I started this in the pickup line at school today and was quickly sucked in. Three little chapters and I could not put it down.
It's well written, fast paced and full of characters that make you question each and every ones motives.
As the beginning of a series it's a hom

If you've read any previous books in previous series by Meli, you know you're in for a GREAT book (and cliffhanger)! This book follows mainly Duff and Lily (Janes look-a-like.) Lily was shot and in a coma for 14 months. But was she the true target or was it a case of mistaken identity? The shooter is actually a bodyguard who was assigned to her. But nobody knows she saw him. Throughout the book we see Lily's recovery. With sexual tension beween her & Duff (her bodyguard). In true Meli fashio ...more

This is the first book in the False series trilogy. It is not a standalone book and they do need to be read in order. This does have a cliffhanger ending with the next two books being released in the next few weeks. This story builds on the Harmless trilogy and Shameless trilogy. It can be read without those series first, but it references characters and events that happened in those books and it will make more sense if you read 1-6 before 7-9.

Lily is a fun loving florist with a bubbly personali

I can’t even tell you how excited I was for this book! I devoured the Harmless and Shameless series and absolutely love this ongoing suspenseful story! After what happened at the end of Jane’s story I counted the days to have Lily’s book in my hands. I had high expectations because although this series can probably be read as a standalone, the storyline goes through all of those series but with a different main character in each of them. So now we have Lily’s story and I was looking f

False Memory is a spectacular torrential hurricane that obliterates your world until there is nothing left but the will to live. Even that will has its moments of confusion, but when the fog lifts and fear paralyzes, clarity suddenly takes over. Few things compare to the intensity and the drive to live and to protect. While both require fierce observation and precision response, they find themselves at odds when the edges of sanity blend with the murky darkness of both hidden and seen threats. W ...more

This was a FANTASTIC start to a series!

This book was something different… but definitely in a good way. I am used to more in your face romance and not something so gripping.

Was it different from what I normally read?
Yes, very much so yes.

Did that turn out to be an amazing thing?
Yes, very much so yes!

First of all, amazing blurb by the author, it got my attention and really put the book into perspective. I might be a bit vague with my review because I went into this only seeing what the blurb sai

Following on from the amazing Shameless series, we catch up with Lily and Duff as they try to piece together what happened when Lily was shot and what a catch up it is!

You would think that having half the book based solely in a hospital room would become boring or tedious but it is the complete opposite.  The thoughts and reactions of Lily when certain people enter her room made me want to scream - " Trust Duff! Tell him!" but the reasoning behind her silence is understandable. Lily knows who sh

False Memory is book one in a brand new three part series by Meli Raine. So, for fans of Meli, it’ll come as no surprise that it ends on a cliffhanger. Thankfully, the books are being released closely together, so if you prefer to wait until the series is complete, then it won’t be too long. January next year in fact.
As with all Meli’s books, it doesn’t take long to be sucked into the story and forget where you are, or what you’re supposed to be doing. I told myself, I’ll just read a few chapte

The Reader Lives this Story – Incredible Insight!!

Warning I: You should have read some prior stories from Meli Raine – this series has characters and events from those stories. Warning II: Once you’ve read one – you will read them all…they are highly addictive!

We awaken with Lily who is coming out of a coma where she resided for 14 months. We are trapped in her body just as she is. We struggle with her to make herself known to those around her. Blinking is considered an “automatic response”. Say

I had previously read the Shameless and Harmless series and loved them. They are intriguing, frought with danger, deception, the chance for much emotion to the characters. So when I heard that the next series building on these other two was coming out I couldn't wait to read. I started reading yesterday and I finished yesterday because I didn't want to put the book down. There is a cliffhanger at the end, but I anticipated that going into it. This is the first in the new Trilogy by Meli Raine. I am not a fan of books with a cliffhanger but as these books are all ready to be released at approximately one month intervals, the wait is minimal. Although this is a standalone trilogy (not book, trilogy has to be read in order), it does follow on and cross reference characters from the Harmless and Shameless trilogies and it does help the story to have read these first.
The first third of the book is from Lily's POV. After being in a coma f

False Memory begins with florist Lily waking from a coma, having been shot by an unknown assailant some 14 months before. The thing is, Lily knows who her attacker is but doesn’t know who to trust with that information. What follows is a fantastically suspenseful game of cat and mouse, where neither Lily, or us as readers, can be certain there is in fact anyone she can rely on. I loved hearing what was going on inside her mind, her need to play a role to avoid giving anything away. Her feelings ...more

Meli Raine does it again. She does it over and over again. Just when you think the story is find out..there is WAY more going on. This trilogy takes place after the Shameless trilogy. You could start with this book but to get all the ins and outs of this completely story line, I would personally recommend starting with the Harmless Trilogy, then Shameless, then this one. OMG this book had me hooked from the opening scene. Lily is in a coma after someone tried to kill her and now, 14 months later, she's starting to come around. We hear from her narrative just what happened to her and who did it, and unfortunately the culprit is still hanging around, watching and waiting to see just what Lily remembers about that night.

I have never read Meli Raine before so I haven't read the other series' that this one seems to follow on from. That did

This is a tense thrilling story which draws parallels to what it must be like in an abusive relationship. The person that should be protecting Lily is the one that tried to kill her - she just can't let on that she knows. The feeling of helplessness is palpable when Lily has literally no way of defending herself, or even moving, for the first part of the book.

This book follows on from the Shameless and Harmless series which contain deep conspiracies. It's an interesting twist to now turn the st

I think I just found my next best author. I absolutely loved this Book. I read Book 1 A Shamelesss Con which was awesome and plan t0 read the entire series and I have Book 1 of the Harmless trilogy which I plan to read that whole entire series. Back to False Memory, it was such an awesome book which had a few spoilers in it from A Shameless Con but not to many that really mattered. In this book, the main character, a friend of Jane named Lilly works in a florist shop that her parents own. Someon ...more

Oh my, will the intrigue never end? False Memory, the first book of the third trilogy in this saga, concerns Jane Borokov's lookalike friend, Lily, who was shot in the head by an assassin, apparently believing her to be Jane.

Although Lily had been in a coma for fourteen months, she was cognizant of what was occurring around her for some time prior to fully coming out of the coma. She also saw her attacker just prior to being shot, recognizing him as someone who was trusted by those around her.

I loved it!!!! This is the first book of a trilogy. It is well written, fast paced and I love the characters. There is mystery and romance and suspense!!! Fair warning, there is a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers but this writer has amazing trilogies that are worth the wait.

Just WOW!

False Memory is book #1 in the False series by Meli Raine. Meli has a way of writing that makes you keep reading until the book is finished. Note that in true Meli writing fashion, this book ends in a cliffhanger!

False Memory is told by Lily's point of view. She awakens from a coma after being shot 14 months ago, when she was mistaken for her friend Jane. Lily quickly realizes that she has to pretend that she doesn't remember who shot her, if she lets on that she remembers, she will not

Lily is a friendly and easy going florist which is why she connected with Jane from the Shameless trilogy. She never expected to have been shot instead of Jane and being in a coma for the last year. She has regained consciousness and she is trying to handle not only what happened to her but how to protect herself from the person who tried to kill her.

Duff was protecting Jane when Lily got shot and he has been dealing with the guilt and grief for the last year. One she regains consciousness all h

Meli Raine's has done it again. This is a very intense, intriguing, suspenseful, and thrilling beginning to a new trilogy that grabs your attention and won't let go, until you've finished it. Surprise, there's a cliff hanger that makes you need the next book now. Lily awakens from a fourteen month coma after being shot in the head by a man who thinks she's someone else. I'm in love with Meli Raine's romantic suspense books. I could sit and read them forever. False Memory is no different, within the first few sentences she had captured me. This series is a continuation of the Harmless series and Shameless series characters, however, it can be read as a standalone series. Lily wakes up in the hospital not remembering how she got there and unaware she has been comatose for more than a year. What does she remember?
