The first time I heard about van der Westhuizen was on 702 Talk Radio. She was being interviewed by Eusebius McKaiser on her research that resulted in this book. Being a white Afrikaans woman in postapartheid South Africa myself, my interest was piqued. I ordered the book online that same day.

I would love to say that I tore through this book in days but the reality is that it took me about 3 months of reading on and off. This is a thesis research paper that should not be read through quickly. It
