All in all, it was good.
Though, there where a few things I didn't like:
-Abrupt ending. I kind of feel the end wasn't too different from the beginning. Only that she grew up, but he remained the same idiot we got to know in the first part of the book (maybe a bit more emotional, but still an idiot).
-God, I hated most of Alison's so called family. Specially Cassidy, Phil and Em. The three of them were incapable of apologizing, instead chose to fault her for everything.
But... there were also stuff

Didn't like Book 1 enough. This author's writing style is not for me.

I love the Freeman family❣❣❣❣❣
Tracey Jerald’s writing style is full of emotions. She develops memorable characters who unfold progressively, have already accepted their flaws and try to overcome them.
Looking forward for the next Freeman sister, Corinna...

Confession: I messed up and read this book first. When I realized that it was second in a series, I facepalmed, but I couldn't put it down to correct the mistake. It is that good! Tracey has a heart of gold and it shines through these characters.

While the book does touch on a bit of darker subject matter, it shies away from the details of that history and focuses on the healing after the events. And I thought at first it would hinder my attachment to these characters, but I was proved wrong. The

When I first received an ARC of this book, I tore through it in less than 24 hours. And then I sat with my feelings for a while, because I didn't love it as much as the first book, Born to Dream. I thought maybe there was something wrong with me, or maybe I just didn't "get" the story because I read it too quickly. So I gave it some time and then re-read it, and these are my thoughts.

I loved Alison. She was smart, determined (graduating law school early? Like, stupid early? Holy crap!

Even though this book could be read as a standalone, you meet Alison and Keene in the previous book, Free to Dream. Since I have read the first book I knew going in that this book will pull at my emotions, and let me tell you it really did. Alison Freeman had a horrific childhood, which caused her to not trust men or love at all. Even with the family she’s made, there is still a part of her that feels she is unlovable and easily discarded. It was so heartbreaking to read her thoughts. Then we ha ...more

An engaging, enjoyable and emotional read

Book 2 in the series (I don’t see a series name but the titles of both published books as well as the two forthcoming books all start with “Free to...”), I was blown away by book 1–which was this author’s debut work—so I was eager to dive into this. While Free to Run is listed as a standalone, there are spoilers here for book 1, and quite a few references to earlier events, so for maximum enjoyment, I recommend reading Free to Dream first.

OMG Tracey Jerald is straight up amazing, with a brilliant writing style that I can't get enough of. I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Free to Dream so much, but Free to Run has replaced it in my heart as the favorite. It all starts with Keene & Alison hooking up at a wedding, which he screws it up from the get go by trying to sneak out. Now some years later, Ali is still pissed off, because he broke her heart, while he wants to rectify everything since he finds he can't live without her. This ...more

Well Tracey Jerald did it again, she made me fall in love with her latest book Free to Run and more importantly with the hot, sexy Keene. I first fell in love with Keene and Alison in Tracey's debut book Free to Dream (which I still can't believe that's the first story she has written as her writing is amazing) and was hoping we would get more of their intriguing story and boy do we ever get a story in Free to Run. But unlike the title you will not run from this read instead you will hold on to ...more

I am completely wrecked for this family! I need to be a Freeman! Tracey, every book gets better and better and I’m freaking bawling my eyes out!! (I’m emotional.) This series of woman and men has been so all consuming, it speaks to my soul each time.

Alison has so many self doubt moments and it breaks my heart each and every time you see her flare die out. The relationship with Cori makes me so excited to read her book! I also had some issues with Ali but knowing her past and seeing her struggles
I just finished and holy wow. Tracey did it again. Reading Keene and Allison's story is a roller coaster ride from page one. Be prepared for one of the hottest first pages of a book ever. Don't say I didn't warn you. I was excited for this book before I even finished the first one. And while I loved the first one, I think this one may have been better. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say that I love a good journey of self-exploration, especially when the character decides to put themse ...more

This book had my heart strings pulled in so many different directions. The deep passion and the intense storyline had me from the very beginning. It was one of those stories that you wanted to find out what happens but didn’t want to end. This story can be read as a stand-alone but I encourage everybody to read the first book in the series Free to Dream. Alison Freeman is CFO and chief counsel of Amaryllis Events (party planners and services). Her family come from a tough upbringing/childhood. E ...more

A strong woman overcoming adversity

I loved this story! Of course I loved Free to Dream, and got a good glimpse of Allison and Keene in that story. I’m so glad they got their own! Allison is my spirit animal, I adore her dedication to her work, her family and especially herself. She is a determined woman, who knows the value of her self worth however it took her a hard journey and making hard decisions to really see that and realize the true relationships she had with the people in her life. This is the second book in the series and we get to see another of the Freemans. Alison is so much different then Cassidy, and her other sisters.

Alison is the Lawyer of Amaryllis Events and also the head of many of the problems within the family if you asked her siblings. However most of those problems are because of Keene (Cassidy's brother).
However, Alison doesn't believe that there is a problem because she was just trying to do what she has always does and that is to protect those that she lo

I read the first book in this series, and fell in love with this unconventional family. I love the idea of a family you choose for yourself, so I was really looking forward to this next part of the family saga. It did not disappoint. Ali and Keene are sizzling hot. There is a fine line between love and hate, and they waffle back and forth across that line. At times, they crossed that line so quickly it gave me whiplash! But they have overcome so many awful things, it's not hard to understand the ...more

I received an eARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I liked this book.
I haven't read the first one in the series, so I missed some of the mentions of who the charachters were. It was probably described in the first book.
Anyway it was nothing to worry about.
It was a little confusing at first, but once you get to know her big family you see that they are amazing. They have their issues, but they work through it. Which family doesnt have them?

Everything I didn’t know I was looking for... again!

This is the second book in the series and yes it says you can read as a stand-alone, but you will miss some character placement if you haven’t read book 1.

This is Alison’s book. Without divulging more. Her path to healing is just that... her path. But the more we learn about Keene, it’s clear that he too has his own healing to do. The fireworks were could be seen coming, strong personalities and all. But their path was their path.

Free to Run was just as incredible as Free to Dream. I love the way Tracey Jerald tells a story. Her words are magical and transport you directly into the situation. Every emotion from anger, to sadness, to overwhelming joy you feel it.

I was intrigued with Keene and Allison‘s characters in Free to Dream. I’m so excited to finally get the chance to look into their world. Keene and Allison‘s story is a whole lot of push and pull. They’re both dealing with the demons of their past, when it comes t

Where has this author been all my life?

I just discovered this author and I'm already in love with her. Her stories have elements of the ugliness of the world but without making them unbearable to read.

She creates characters that are real and flawed. They all are family. They fight, overreact, and ultimately forgive. Their love and sense of family are the best examples of humanity.

I love that these stories are standalones with interconnected characters. Each member of this family is becoming dea

Free to run has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. The shock factor from page one in the prologue will keep you intrigued. Alison Freeman is CFO of Amaryllis Events and Lawyer for the company. Each of her adopted siblings are from rough upbringings. Keene Marshall is a to die for hot ex-military man, who now co-owns Hudson Security.

Alison and Keene's one night stand at a wedding leads to another chance meeting. That meeting has them both coming back for more even if they try not too. Their

Free to Run is the second book in the Amaryllis series and it’s soooo good! The story continues with Alison and Keene coming face to face again after two one nighters. From the first time, they each had developed feelings but chose to keep them buried while they tried to heal from their broken pasts. Deeply rooted scars and psycho ex’s tried to keep them running from each other, until the realized how deep their feelings for each other were. Being honest with each other allowed them to

I love this mish mash family. All of them have had a rough beginning in their lives and faced more than most adults could tolerate yet they have thrived. The love and support is what has kept them. Alison has always been a little different being the attorney and although she loves her siblings she feels alone. Enter Keene, 2 wild hook ups and well it goes from there. We get a peek at these two and their past. Of course it's much too short because this author makes you want more and keeps you fli ...more

Ali and Keene’s story made me laugh, cry, swoon, basically it put me on an emotional roller coaster, but it was soooo worth it! You have to read these books!!! I promise you, they absolutely take you on a journey that you are unprepared for. I felt for Keene and Ali both throughout this entire book. And i was proud of them both, as they came out the other side, no matter the obstacles, and believe me, there were some huge ones along the way. Not my favorite.

I have to honestly say I really didn't like either Ali, and especially not Keene, until much later in this story. I actually almost stopped reading this book, to skip to the next book #3. I guess I'm glad I pursavered because the ending was very nice. If you want to read these in order- try to hang on until the end of this one. You will be pleased. Now on to the book I originally bought this series for- Corinne and Colby's story- Book 3. Hope it was worth the wait.

I guess you could read this book as a standalone but the first book by Tracey is amazing so I recommend it. The Freeman family is an amazing family to have survived all they have gone through and I am enjoying learning about them. This book was Alison's and Keene's story. I always hope when I find a great book like I did with Free to Dream that the second book will be as good. Well I was not disappointed at all. There was a crazy psycho stalker that really made things interesting, and Alison and ...more

I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that this is only the second book that Tracey Jerald has published. I loved Free to Dream so much and have been dying to read Free to Run. I was absolutely blown away a second time by Tracey’s writing. She is so polished it is like reading books by someone that has been doing this forever. Free to Run was amazing! Free to Run is a great read. The book flowed nicely with well rounded characters. I love the Freeman family and their love and support for one another. Alison and Keene both have tortured pasts that the author explains in the story. For them to become a couple they need to go through some trials and tribulations. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend you read Free to Dream first so you can follow each family member and their backstory.

Good art of this series

I Love the characters in the Amaryllis series. I loved Keene and Alison too. Their story is very good but there was a little to much angst. Definitely need to read this book in the series. I have read them all to date and believe this is a wonderful series well worth reading. Linda

This was my first ARC and I must say that this book was amazing! The writing was great. The banter between the family was heartwarming and the angst between Keene and Ali took my breath away. I will now have to read the first book in this series and hope it is as intriguing . Good job Ms. Jerald....
