This books comes from the genre of Folklore and I feel as if the age range for this book would be anywhere from 4-7 years old. This book is about a big bad wolf who comes to blow the three little pigs houses down until when he reached the brick house he couldn't accomplish his goal. The illustrations are key in the story for the younger children who may not be able to read on their own yet. They will be intrigued by the pictures and want to hear more. This book also teaches a valuable lesson that being mean to others never gets you anywhere, considering the wolf got his tail burned. The plot of the story in repetitive which would allow for students to be able to follow along better rather than there being a ton of new events happening all of the time.

It is not that this book was not enjoyable to read or that it wasn't an accurate retelling of the original Three Little Pigs, but it was underwhelming. The illustrations were cute, but not impressive, different, or very interesting. I did like how the book included a little girl pig though. While it was ok, I just was not over the moon about it and I believe there are most likely better retellings.

In this original story of the three little pigs, each pig decides to build its own house and sees whose is the strongest. Will it be the house made of straw, the house made of branches, or the house made of bricks? This is such a good classic book that is a MUST for all children!

I still haven’t found a version that I like. I do like the illustrations but it wasn’t my favorite! I will continue to be on the lookout for a good version of the Three little pigs.

Love the large size of this book for lap-sitting. I hadn't ever considered the pigs might be siblings or that there might be a girl. Rest of story sticks with traditional fairy tale.

From this picture book, children can learn about the word”What goes around comes around”.
If you know it's wrong and you do it, bad results will come back to you.
The illustrations are cute.

February 27, 2019This was a pretty good retelling of the Three Little Pigs. I like that it's a board book, but it's big--good for storytimes. And one of the pigs is a girl.
