A MUST READ for anyone looking to dive into the acting scene in Chicago. I also took an on camera class with the writer. He is an awesome guy and wrote the book almost entirely based on personal experience.
Much of it doesn’t seem like info you may find in an acting class like ‘What do I do to get an agent?’ or ‘What must I do to get a demo reel?’, so I appreciate having a source that helps provide that side of the business. I’m glad Mr. Agos wrote a book such as this, providing material that may help those looking to get into acting (theatre, film, voice, etc). Don’t think I knew what an EAR was exactly until this book. Lol. But glad that such a thing was included because never know if it might come up and have no idea what it is.
Anyone attempting to act in Chicago without picking this book up is an idiot. It is AFFORDABLE and INDISPENSABLE. It is written entirely based off of the personal success of the writer, without being preachy or full of ego. He makes specific recommendations of who to work for and seek out, and how to go about doing just about everything pertaining to acting in Chicago. This is probably the most important business-related theater book I have ever read.
