Immer noch großartig. Ich liebe Kenji und Katsuya zusammen mittlerweile einfach so sehr und bin super gefangen auch von dieser Persönlichkeit des Serienkillers. Ich werde innerhalb der Handlung recht oft an Dexter erinnert. Was ich liebe, denn ich liebe Dexter so sehr! Jedenfalls bin ich sehr gespannt, was dabei herauskommt, wenn der Fall irgendwie irgendwann mal aufgeklärt werden sollte...
Update 2022: Das mit Dexter fühle ich nicht mehr so sehr :D Und der Serienkiller interessiert mich auch nicht mehr so, aber trotzdem von vorne bis hinten ein toller Manga!

Some questions are answered, but more are coming up...
Who is the serial killer, and what's his motive? What trauma/experience is he acting out?
What's the connection between his victims?
Why did he leave Katsuya alive?
As always, the drawings are magnificent: realistic, atmospheric, intense facial expressions and it's simply a beautiful and mature style of drawing men.
I rarely give out five stars, but In These Words is a one-of-a-kind manga, not just among the yaoi genre, but in general.
The combination of a dark tale, complex characters and a high-quality drawing style makes a thrilling and intense experience.

Well ...I'm less confused than I was last volume, but I still think it's incredibly stupid sooo ...
So for this volume I read chapters 12-13 and then couldn't find 14-16 anywhere, but I did find a good summary of 14-15 with a lot of screenshots and I feel like you can pretty much guess what all the wrap up is going to be in chapter 16 so I still feel okay rating it even though I didn't technically 'read' the whole thing. But I honestly don't know what they expect people to do when they charge $12 for a 30 page chapter. Also I looked through a lot of the extras that I downloaded which from the illustrations look possibly better than the actual story but I wasn't in the mood to read a lot of prose so maybe I'll come back to them later.
Anyway, apparently the whole plan was So this was definitely super disappointing to me. The art is still absolutely gorgeous which is probably the only reason volumes 2 and 3 got a 2 star rating instead of a 1, but I will always remember volume fondly.

So I just binge-read the three volumes of this series thinking it ended with volume 3 but it does not!? And volume 4 is not out yet. I need the ending now! This is such an engrossing read!

Katsuya Asano decides to help the police catch a dangerous serial killer who abducts, tortures, and murders young men, helping them set a trap for him, continuing his dalliance with the officer who drew him into this affair. The killer, however, is setting a trap of his own for Katsuya, his obsession with the only one who ever refused him flaming into something deadly which could cost the icy psychiatrist his life.
Many questions are answered in this volume when readers find out what happened to Katsuya, getting a closer look at the man responsible. Beautiful, chilling scenes of suspenseful, non-consensual erotica play out across the pages with the Man trying to claim Katsuya while Katsuya fights with everything he has, even when he’s helpless.
Warning, this is a dark, mature read. It evokes some of the thrillers of the 1980s and ‘90s where the killer feels unstoppable, infused with the fear and terror of the unknown. He is not all powerful, though, and the prey he craves is not completely without means of resistance.

Endlich geht es nun mit dieser Reihe weiter. Das dies in einem anderen Verlag und auch noch in einem anderen Format geschehen muss, nervt mich zwar, aber immer noch besser als nie weitergeführt.
Der Band hat in sich mehr Sinn ergeben, als die Bände davor aber ich bin trotzdem noch etwas verwirrt und bin daher umso mehr auf den nächsten Band gespannt.
Der Zeichenstil war wieder erste Sahne. Die Szenenauswahl ist richtig cineastisch und ich liebe die düsteren Szenen und die ausdrucksstarken Gesichter.

fucking hell... та це було, бляха, нестерпно. сцена, де він його одягнув у новенький костюм та залишив помирати у труні, мене чисто роз'їбала. а той фрейм, де кацуя просто лежить після [редактед]? матір божа... сюжет направду згущується, і хоча ми отримали деякі відповіді, питань з'явилося насправді ще більше. з нетерпінням чекаю, куди нас врешті приведе оповідь.
*мушу визнати, однак, шо попри всі ті абсолютно жахливенні події та звірства, що тут відбувались, я (обвіослі) все ще знаходила час милуватись мальовкою. ну не можу я, не МОЖУ! мене так пре зі стилю артер_ки... їхня майстерність (та рівень володіння анатомією зокрема) мене кидає в дрижаки. відчуваю найщиріше захоплення від їхньої праці!
якби мені зараз сказали перечитати перший том, знаючи те, що ми знаємо? мені здається, я б здурєла від співставлення. я собі уявити не можу, як мусив почуватися шінохара, коли брав на себе роль того вбивці. мені страшенно цікаво, як вони взагалі дійшли до оцієї геніальної ідеї з інсценуванням тортур/взаємодій з вбивцею. як кацуя абсолютно все забув та досі не помічав гігантських шрамів на спині — питання окреме, але тим не менш, після всього ним пережитого ОТАК його повторно травмувати, аби лиш довідатись особу справжнього вбивці? з шінохарою of all people в головній ролі? травма фест максимальний для всіх причетних, чесне слово. але справді, яким чином все це провернули? а а аа настрій чіплятись за наступні глави негайно, але ж робота все ще в онґоінгу, і я однаково не довідаюсь, чим все закінчиться.............. гнгнґґґгнхнхнх

Really enjoyed this volume, learning more about the killer and what's happened in the past. I'm so hooked on these. I can only hope the next set of chapters (and maybe the prequels too!) comes out in a Vol 4 one day!

A culmination, this book answers many of the questions raised throughout the series. The ending, while amazing, leaves one and only question. Perhaps the other books the author has published will answer it. If you're considering the book, read it. If you're considering the series, buy it. I can guarantee that it is worth the time and the money.

Ich freue mich das diese Reihe weiter geht, auch wenn sie nicht mehr zu meinen anderen Bänden passt. Ich muss zudem die anderen Bände nochmals lesen, weil so war es verwirrend und ich habe vor allem nur Gewalt und eine Vergewaltigung gesehen.

I'm fascinated by all the analysis and work that police and specialists are doing so far. It's very intriguing to see/read. I can only imagine how irritated and mad killers can get, when there's some misinformation spread publicly, as they are ''proud'' of the ''work'' they do. Basically, their ''reputation'' is on the line.. Hence, this makes their focus and actions shift or be miscalculated at times. Very dangerous situation for Katsuya here, as his suggestions to the police capture killer's attention (the timelines shift throughout the volumes btw, so we see prior and after events). But .. how DID the killer know it was him???
Regarding the relationship between Katsuya and - they have very ''domesticated'' and intimate dynamic. The chemistry between them is palpable, and their banter about serious and unserious matters is so naturally showed. I really enjoyed their moments together.
HEAVY spoiler This is why I was hooked. It really took me by surprise and I was left guessing the events of everything. Well done author, well done!
Overall, this vol had many panels that were hard to witness. Those 6 days.... I would go mad. The maniacal love and killer's unhinged behavior.. And in the end, the refusal to give in and die. I knew he is strong willed, but it was a miracle that he was still sane. The strength and will to live through that kind of trauma is something anyone would respect. Also, kudos to instincts and his quick plan regarding the case isolation.

L'intrigue et la vérité se dévoile petit à petit avec une minutie des détails qui ne laisse rien au hasard. Nous retrouvons des références et clin d'œil du tome 1 dans ce troisième volume, mais en réalité ces références et ces clins d'œil sont celles du volume 3 pour le premier tome.
La vérité de l'intrigue se dévoile doucement à nous, et nous découvrons les côtés maniaques de ce tueur sanguinaire ainsi que son côté à la fois monstrueux mais tellement humain, s'en est déroutant. La vérité est encore bien loin et mystérieuses, mais nous avançons pianissimo dans cette intrigue qui a encore tant à nous dévoiler et à nous raconter.
La mangaka va-t-elle de nouveau nous tromper ? je ne le sais pas. Mais ce que je sais, c'est qu'avec cette intrigue, nous ne sommes pas aux bouts de nos surprises.
Les personnages sont toujours si intriguants, attachants, dérangeants, mystérieux, à la fois humain et inhumain. C'est un vrai régal pour les amateurs de psychologie et de thrillers. L'univers est sombre à souhait et les dessins sont toujours d'une beautés absolues !
J'ai vraiment hâte que le quatrième tome sorte pour en savoir plus ! J'ai ce besoin de savoir ce que toutes cette mise en scène et cette romance nous réserve.

Auch in Band 3 hat mir der Zeichenstil wieder sehr gefallen. Mir sind die Zeichnungen in Mangas oft zu überladen oder die Charaktere werden zu weich / verkindlicht gezeichnet, dem ist hier nicht so. Ich mag die Schattierungen und auch das Kantige an den Zeichnungen.
Ich fand es etwas schade, dass Szenen aus Band 1 wiederholt wurden, da so ein Manga ja eh nicht so viele Seiten hat und man die Dinge ja schon wusste. Trotzdem war es wieder spannend und ich hoffe doch sehr, dass man in Band 4 dann mehr über den Serienmörder erfährt und wie bzw. warum das in Band 2 passiert ist. Auf diese Auflösung hatte ich schon in diesen Band gehofft.
Auch dieser Band ist nicht ohne Grund ab 18 Jahren, manches ist echt verstören.

Después de trazar un plan con la policía de Tokyo para atrapar al asesino en serie, Katsuya es localizado por el criminal y es secuestrado. Sufriendo durante días todo tipo de torturas y vejaciones, Katsuya es incapaz de poder conseguir conocer el nombre del asesino o por qué comete esos asesinatos.
Sin embargo, y a pesar de estar al borde de la muerte, Katsuya logra escapar.
¿Qué pasará a continuación? ¿Cómo llegaremos hasta el punto en el que la historia comienza en el tomo 1? Toca esperar. Espera que, si mantiene este nivel, valdrá la pena.

AHHHH THERE HAS TO BE MORE, RIGHT? I thought this was the last volume and now I'm so surprised that it's apparently not. In these words 03 is so engaging and interesting, and we are finally at the part of the story were past and present almost meet up, and it's so, so good. Beware, there's graphic sexual violence, sexual intercourse, rape, mutilation and trauma. I have NO IDEA when In these words 04 is going to be published but I'm going to buy it asap.

This was a much more coherent read than the two volumes before and the art is beautiful as always, which brings this up to a 4-star-rating.
I'm still miffed about the plot-twist, though, which was probably meant to be mind-blowing but was just plain stupid. It was like they couldn't decide whether they wanted to make this a Killing Stalking rape fantasy or a Hannibal-esque profiling story, so they mashed up both and it's a worse story for it. I could have lived with either (personally, I would have preferred the profiling story) but not both glued together with a mind-boggling plot-device.

Jaaaa natürlich musst ich gleich den dritten auch lesen🙈😂 die Geschichte ist so gut konstruiert und aufgebaut. Alles sehr komplex und verwirrend aber ich mag die Reihe echt total gerne. Aber ich hoffe auf einen 4ten band der alles aufklärt😲 ich brauch einen ordentlichen Abschluss das macht mich irre🤪🤯

Der erste Teil den ich bewerten kann, weil ich einfach sagen muss, dass ich begeistert bin!
Dieser Teil war wirklich gut! Weiterhin spannend, aber man hat endlich mehr erfahren. And yes ofc I ship them wtf

The art is amazing. Major TW: Rape, SA, murder, torture. This is a dark horror crime thriller first and foremost and it is not for the faint of heart.

I finally read volume 3. This series is very good! Too bad the wait for volume 4 will be long and arduous ... the author team are great storytellers for this twisty narrative.
